Well good luck in your future endeavors OP!

Word of advice though....NEVER take a property you have no creative control over TOO seriously :) More often than not it'll just lead to let down. Enjoy the property sure, be a fan of it, of course! But never take it too seriously to the point where if something changes in your perspective to no longer be the ideal, it ruins it for you.

This holds true for TV/Games/Movies/Comics/Books etc.

Its not my fault for being deeply invested in the characters and their future.

When you off?

I'll still be around today, but starting tomorrow, you won't see me here or on multiplayer anymore.

you in the initiative log? even there, you can still stay a fan. they give us fan art, updates, everything. you should forever be a fan of such a game, pro ending or no. wheather you want to fight with us, you should be able to remember the good old days.

No please..... Don't go.

I should go, really. I won't touch Mass Effect with a 10 foot pole anymore, but I'll still play games published by BioWare like Baldur's Gate and such.

I had high hopes for the last DLC, but it ended up a parody of fans vs game as the only actual thing to take from it. The morose undercurrent of 'drunks' belaboring the reality of such a conflict and a shepclone to poke fun at fans vs bioware writers. I think they meant it in good nature, but even that flunks as their resistence to 'other concepts' from the fan base takes precedence over form in the DLC.

Build a good story and message then corrupt it with metagame symptomology. Weird really. Made me actually regret buying the DLC. I didn't actually play it, just made motions after cloneshep made it's appearence..grossed me out completely. and that is about impossibe.. with a VG. Later to tune out fun'n party stuff.. all seem lore inept.. bioware seemed to attempt to "live up" to detractorfan bases everywhere..cynicism and all.

weird.

See, now you get it though I really didn't doubt you before.

I just wanted to say that the idea we can defeat the Reapers with team spirit made me puke in my mouth a little.

Couldn't have been any worse than the "push a button and things go boom/LAZER BEAMS CHANGE EVERYONE'S DNA" one we got.

I guess the 'Puzzle Theory' is all but dead now.  Time for you guys to move past and heal?

Why would I? For me, the fight is over. Don't get me wrong though, I LOVED the Citadel DLC. In my opinion, it's better than Lair of the Shadow Broker, but I'm done with Mass Effect and anything related to it, I'm sorry.

I feel like the clone Shepard right now. Why would I take your hand when there's nothing for me to live for?

one other thing i thought i would mention. if you are moving on to baldurs gate, you should maybe support the enhanced edition. with support, we might get a bg3. beamdog has old bioware people, from  when they were good. just thought i would let you know if you haven't seen it yet.

If I haven't already said good riddance, then good riddance! Bye! I do wonder about something, though - do all you people hire the same ghostwriter to create these ridiculous and melodramatic exit threads? Actually, don't answer that - just leave, kkthxbye!

We both know that's not actually going to happen. Not tomorrow, not next week. Anyone who cares enough about this place to say why he's leaving isn't ready to leave.

I'm trying to move on, but its hard to knowing that no matter what I did, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't secure the freedom of every sentient being in the ME series, allowing them to create thier own destiny without some giant machine hybrids and a deluded shackled AI dictating the course of evolution, being afraid of what might happen out of their control.

See, the problem is Bioware had real a real gem here and often the most beautiful gems are not perfect but are loved, flaws and all.  But, if someone smashes the gem that you loved, well It's kind of hard to take.

BW underestimated their own abilities.  They had created a story whose characters were very real to us and that we got emotionally attached to-that is great storytelling and often damn hard to do.  For the most part fans cared about them and became immersed in their stories even when the stories were minimalistic or seemed a bit off or forced.  We each found characters that appealed to us and for different reasons.  I had never had this happen in a video game, but I can remember playing Bethesda games and wishing the characters were more real and that I actually felt something for them.  The closest I ever came was Dogmeat the dog in Fallout 3.

In ME, it felt like the characters had lives and that for a moment I was sharing their story.  It will always bother me that I have no good official (Bioware written) end to this story.  And I will be sad that the hero at best will always be left in a pile of rubble, waiting to be picked up, dusted off, and cared about.

I'm leaving the BSN, but it has nothing to do with ME3. There are far too many ****s on here. I have met a few cool people, but not enough to balance out the ****s.

Mass Effect was doomed to failure the day when some genius at bioware decided that Shepard's atmospheric entry at the beginning of ME2 was a good thing. After that, NOTHING in Mass Effect really makes any sense.

The plot is written so poorly that i would take Dead Space story over Mass Effect any day. A few dialogs here and there doesn't make the game special. You cannot win sympathy with just some more Garrus, Wrex and Tali talk.

To hell with you Mass Effect. You gave a list of developers I will avoid in the future to buy games from.

Off-topic is so much better.

Here the douchebaggery (on both sides) has hit critcial mass and collapsed in on itself, creating a black hole of torment and hate.

I dunno about you guys, but when Shepard said "the best" at the end of this DLC, I didn't care about the endings anymore. I just know Shepard is alive and happy in my ending.

I don't know. I feel empty inside like the clone Shepard when he saw what makes the real Shepard special: the support of his friends. Initially I hated clone Shepard as much as I hate Kai Leng, I wanted to strangle that arrogant phony in the worst ways possible, but in the end, I decided to forgive him and try to save his life.

I could compare BioWare to the clone Shepard too. When I saw the endings back in 2012, I was one of the angry ending haters too, I wanted to expose the lies they told in their interviews before ME3 was released, but when the EC was released and the other DLC Leviathan, Omega and Citadel, I eventually came around to forgiving BioWare, I chose to believe that maybe they had no choice giving us these endings, that maybe they would soon give us an ending that fits Shepard's nature which would explain Mr. Priestly's "Hardest...day...ever. If only you knew what we were planning..." quote back when the rage about the endings were hot. It was hard remaining hopeful that they would give us a proper Refusal ending through the DLCs even though they kept saying nothing would change. Now, I feel like giving up the ghost like clone Shepard.

I already got the enhanced edition. I am aware of Overhaul Games's long term goal. Oh yes, on Deviantart, I'm writing a Baldur's Gate fanfiction based on the enhanced edition with the new characters.

The Citadel DLC actually rejuvenated my faith in Bioware's writing.

Because of the DLC, I've started to be interested in ME4.

It actually had everything I reasonably wanted in it: Option to use all the surviving ME1 squad, something more involved with the ME2 squad, and a fight with mirror, npc-ified Shepard (in addition to Shepard actually being an npc).

The more I hear about the Citadel DLC the more I want to buy it.  I just don't want to have to play ME 3 again... :bandit:  Bit of a Catch 22 going on for me.

That's what happens when you read every single post and/or take any of it too seriously.

Scan, learn which posters you can casually disregard, and have fun. It's only stars if you let it be.

The endings? Still? Bioware made it clear they won't change the endings... All that artistic integrity stuff, is probably crap, "why?" you say... Answer: Because instead of people saying "oh, I didn't like this part of ending because blah blah blah... etc..." People said "The endings suck.". (They would have probably added some new endings.. 'cause as far as I know the things that were fixed in the EC, were explained in a lot of reviews) So You are simply getting what you deserve. Bye.

"You only get the ending you deserve"

Actually, all the OP's threads on the subject were pretty long and thought out. There were plenty of people who provided the "endings suck" noise but N7Gold wasn't among them.

I used to make thought out posts.  Then I found out, like on most forums, people here respond only to hyperbole, particularly if they disagree with you.  Sadly, I find this most true of the ending lover Cultists (as opposed to the thoughtful people who like the endings), so to engage them, they mostly seem to need their perfect world to be shattered before they start actually thinking.

My post wasn't entirely for OP, he just "triggered it", since posts like this always ended up flooding with hate and I got pretty tired of it, This was me just letting it all out... (I had just woke up) :P
I'm not part of any ending lover cult... I did like the endings, it was something unexpected, there were/are some flaws, but I don't tend to pick much on flaws. I would have made some constructive criticism myslef, but with all the hate going on, I knew my posts would end up drowning among all the hate, so why bother...
I totally would have loved a refuse ending, with everyone being whiped out by the reapers, if you didn't have enough assets... And if you had a huge number of assets, you'd beat the reapers at the cost of many lifes and ships, and you'd get to see Sheppard with the LI and what happens with the team.

I just hope that if something like this happens again, people give support and both to the developers and the constructive criticism.

Let's start motivating Bioware into making better content, if we support them with constructive criticism (like N7Gold did), if we tell them what we loved about the games (I've seen some people doing it), maybe they'll redeem themselves in the next games.
Now if we hate on them, tell them we're going to leave and never coming back, we're just demotivating them, and they'll look for new "fans", changing completely and making games we'll never like... and they'll still get their money from someone else... But you'll probably never find the same kind of games you used to love...
