I personally think she despises hime, because

1. He is a simpleton that believes Morrigan's behaviour is dictated/influenced purely by her mother. making Morrigan feel inferior to the legendary Flemeth
2. In a dialogue between them He suggests that looking at Morrigan, trigers a memory of her mother as oppose to sexual impulse, suggesting that like all the templars before him, he sees Morrigan as an innocent girl making her also feel inferior to her mother in the art of seduction.

So that whole banter thing and Morrigan assuming there that she's so smart was kinda ironically funny. I guess that Alistair didn't want to bother himself by stooping down to her level and try to prove how smart he is and how foolish others may be. Maybe Morrigan at some level even realized this and that was one of the reasons why she couldn't stand Alistair much, as well. I guess that in the end, if she can't sleep with the player char to get that baby, she realized what a tool she's been all this time and now she's pleading for a Grey Warden she doesn't like to sleep with her for her little ritual. Hah, the thoughts what ran through her head would have been probably priceless to hear at that moment. All that blathering all the time how high and mighty she is and how low Alistair is and now she's the one knocking on his door, so to say.

:D

Alistair and Morrigan deserve each other so, SO much.

Heh...and the children! God, they would OBLITERATE the snark scale.

In my opinion, the two of them hate each other the same way that Republicans and Democrats hate each other. Both of them are very set in their ways (having not known much of anything else while growing up), and they're so convinced that their outlook is the right one that they can't begin to see or understand the other.

I've been thinking that the Morrigan Alistair relationship is rather similar to the Blanche Stanley relationship in Streetcar Named Desire (though the gender roles are reversed). If this were the case, it seems that the constant conflict between them would have inevitably landed them in bed together (unless they fell in love with the warden.) Not that this really has much to do with anything. Just a thought.

On the other hand, I doubt she'd have to work hard to seduce someone into life-saving sex, though the whole creepy old-god baby thing could be a bit of a deterrent.

You mean that they both got to the same posh university, followed the same cursus, and were friend during that time?
