one question: I am scared to send the invitations for the actual party because I'm worried that since I haven't unlocked Jack, Jacob, Samara (all three of whom I've done their missions AND spoke to on the Citadel by the way), Miranda, Joker, Kolyat etc. If I were to go ahead and click on the personal terminal's "send invitations", will I screw myself out of all of those characters being at the party?
I know this is months ago, but I just feel compelled to reply - I see these sorts of emails pretty often - i.e. "is it too soon?", "if I do this will I lock that?", etc... or even the advice about do NOT start the Cerberus Base attack until you are SURE, because all other activity will be blocked then... etc..
Without exception (please someone correct me if somehow I missed ) --- NO PRIOR SAVES ARE EVER (INTENTIONALLY --- BY BUG? I DOUBT IT) MESSED WITH BY ANYTHING YOU DO NOW....... I.E. if you start the party then realize that xxxxx cannot show up because you forgot to yyyyyyyyyyyy...... JUST LOAD A PRIOR SAVE.... NOTHING IS HOSED OR ETC... IF YOU HAVE PRIOR SAVES.
GO WILD.

To be safe, I would finish the Citadel plot after Rannoch and do the meet ups inbetween. Save the party for before Cerby HQ and you should have all ME2 characters in as well.

I agree completely. The timing's good for these at that point. If you want a meetup with Miranda, you want to have finished "Priority:Sanctuary" (or is it just Horizon?)... well, the Cerberus/Miranda's father mission... She won't email you to meet at your "New Digs" until after she's finished with Daddy.
My point was -- and this assumes you do save games, of course -- it doesn't hurt to just CHECK - start the party, or begin the DLC.. any of them... If you feel the timing is not right, just LOAD a prior save... you're not going to ruin anything (unless you consider making a discovery about plot or what-not , spoiler -- but, if you're playing it's not likely you'll spoil that much provided you leave and load another save.. again point is - you're not going to LOSE anything as long as you have SAVEs... I save pretty often, in case I miss a Paragon/Renegade prompt or something.
