Mordin isn't in it because he is either:

- A rotting corpse on the Collector Base
- A very badly charred corpse in the rubble that once comprised the Shroud (with or without a bullet in his back).
- Working as a lead scientist on the Crucible.

Likely he was simply too busy, or simply afraid of Krogan reprisal (assuming Wrex was alive and found out about the deception, if indeed that occurred).

Thane is either:
- Never recruited
- A rotting corpse on the collector base, or elsewhere.
- Dead of Kepral's syndrome not long after stopping Kai Leng.

Legion is either:
- Scrap metal
- Handed over to Cerberus
- Being used by the Reapers on the Dreadnought
- Dead via the code upload
- Dead via Shep/Tali/that old bag who comes in if Tali is dead.

So no, they don't appear. Though a datapad re Mordin can be found if he died on Tuchanka, and Thane's son, Kolyat holds a memorial for Thane at Shep's pad if he died after stopping Leng.

So no, they don't appear alive.

If it works, then Citadel should be played after Rannoch but the party would have to wait until after Sanctuary for Miranda appearance.

But then you would also miss out on meet ups with ME2 squaddies on the Silver Strip and Thane's memorial, right?
You don't get those emails until after your party and then you have to complete a mission for the emails to tick in....

Do the "delivery missions" count for the "email requirements"? If so we have solved the problem. Just avoid to "deliver" what you found on the Galaxy map until that moment.

If it does not work what about one of those N7 missions? I think you could do the last one before starting the assault on the Cerberus station... I'm not sure, though. I'll have to check it.

Wonderful news! Thank you very much.. I spent the last hour trying to find the answer here on the Forum Posted Image
I'll make a sort of "back up" save before starting the dlc... just in case Posted Image

Also, I'm pretty sure you can use the combat arena as a way to wait for the new emails.

That's the second good news you give me today.
I think I'll play the dlc right now but await to do all the "side stuff" until horizon...
Just one more question: how many combat arena missions are there?

So, it would be best to wait until just before the attack on Cronos station?

I would probably do it after Rannoch (so you have the whole squad), then throw the party after Sanctuary, so that everyone can be invited.

Sounds like a plan. Am I going to miss out on Thane's memorial or any other content playing it this way?

The way I think it works is that you don't get all the emails at once (such as Thane's memorial), but if you complete missions, those will unlock more emails. As I've said before, I'm pretty sure you can use the combat arena as a mission to unlock more emails.

You can go as many times as you want. They're super quick too, like under 5 minutes.

Honestly?

To space out the Cheese Factor (which there is a LOT of in this DLC), and make it seem more believable in terms of trying to assuage Shepard's rather fragile current mental state, I'd Bum-Rush Rannoch arc right after the Citadel Coup, then once that's finished and you have your full squad, do the Citadel DLC.

Then consistently check your apartment after each main mission and space out the meet-ups you have with old friends. Finally, throw that kickass party after you've finished everything else, right before taking on the Cerberus Base.

And each counts as a mission for the purpose of unlocking emails?
It seems this DLC has a lot of versatilty after all and that's a very good thing...

Also, many of the characters emails I would think come after completeing their quests (I've only played after Sanctuary, so I'm not sure), but I would think that you would get the email from Jack after meeting her at Purgatory, Grunt after the Rachni mission, etc...

After Rannoch would be my best guess. After so much fighting, a shore leave and repairs to the Normandy would make some sense.

Very unseful info. That would make the dlc "compatible" with nearly every playthrough we decide to play..

It would make sense. Otherwise, everyone who had a save after completing the game would be locked out of certain content.

For me the emails of Kaidan and EDI unlocked first after main mission of dlc. Left to do Jacobs mission with scientists and got Koylat, Liara, Traynor, Grunt and Jack related emails on return. All without party, which I did twice to do play through of it anyways - Grunt drunk in shower is hilarious.

I did it right after Priority: Citadel II and I think it's a mistake. Play the DLC right before the attack on the Cerberus station or right after Rannoch is completed.

In the Armax Arena, you can unlock ME2 squad members to group with and they only become available after you complete their part of the story. So, for example, Miranda only becomes available as a team member in the arena after you finish Horizon and she survives. Finish with all the quests that involve your old squad mates to unlock them. It's not required, but it helps to have nothing else to do but enjoy playing in the arena and such.
