... Bioware didn't at-least give the option for people to have the DLC take place post high-ems destroy ending. I mean, doing so would've only really required a few dialogue changes here and there, with the only big difference being how they deal with EDI.

If the option had been there, they could have it set like 1-3 years after the ending, with the citadel having only just finally been repaired to the point it is livable again. Shepard would have been still serving aboard the Normandy to help out with reconstruction, but now is finally retiring from the Alliance and thus as the comes back to the Citadel for the Normandy to get repairs and get started on the process of handing the ship back to the alliance.

Rather then Anderson telling you hes giving his apartment, it would instead be explained that between rebuilding and everything else, the alliance only just went through his will which stated that Shepard would get his apartment.

Now, dealing with EDI would be a little more difficult, but there are two easy fixes. One, just write her out of the story, or instead have her replaced by “EDI 2”. That option could work, as maybe they were able to fix up EDI's AI core and restart it, but as what would happen as they moved her, it would result in a different personality. To reflect this, maybe change her robot's appearance a bit or something to also show this.

Besides this, only a few lines referring to the war still being on would need to be changed, with the party being one last chance for the Normandy crew to spend time together while still being the Normandy crew. The final scene would be a bit different, with instead of talking about how this might be their last chance as the final battle is approaching, it would be expressing sadness that it is well, over and basically an end of an era for them.

Now, don't get me wrong, I loved this DLC to death. Probably the best 4-5 hours in the entire trilogy. I just am slightly bummed out that this was not an option, even though I knew weeks ago that it wouldn't happen.
