High Lord Fagnan has addressed the powers of the Talon, namely that changes are coming. Can he or some other developer please comment on whether or not solutions to the key binding issue on the Talon are actively being sought? Thank you.

We've looked into the key binding issue and we won't be able to fix it without a patch. Unfortunately, we don't have another patch planned at this time.

What a tragedy!!

And this is how BSN explodes. Not with a post, but with a bang.

Thank you VERY much for transparency.  Knowing the status of things makes it a lot easier to deal with than hoping for patches that are (likely) never coming.  This is not sarcasm, just in case that's not clear.  I know traditionally Bioware has been unable to share plans with us, so no complaint there, just compliment now.

Also, isn't this a PC-exclusive issue? You don't have to pay Microsoft and Sony to release it.

A good question. What is the issue with patching just this for PC since it's only on PC?

Does the "don't have another patch planned at this time" translate to "MP lifecycle has ended and will no longer be supported"?

edit://
Aha, so that bug only applies to PC people that modded their keybindings. Okay, in this case it is unfortunate, but caused by customer meddling. I redact my early statement.

On the plus side, PC only has issues with one class, while PS3 has issues with an entire enemy faction and Xbox just has half their playerbase being screaming 12 year olds.

eric.. remember the old days before origin crap and such? when a company had a patch they just let you download it from it's website ? or in game updater?

next mass effect please avoid origin. like swtor where I can download the client without using origin at all.

It should be obvious by now, that Bioware doesn't do PC exclusive patches. The patches are synchronized across all platforms for some odd reason. Even though PC patches don't need to go through the same kind of ratification process as Xbox and PS3 patches and they can alter the original content in much more dynamic ways (consoles have this unchangable optical storage content problem, which PC doesn't have). If Bioware really cared about PC players, they would have released PC exclusive patches long ago, adding the much requested Text chat and controller supports.

it is what it is...and we have what we have...
PS3 (me) has collector freezing issues
PC has Talon issues

play the game or don't play it
while these issues are disappointing, IMO the positives far outweigh the negatives
I will continue to play as *I can't seem to get enough"
I have almost 800 hours invested in MP
despite it's flaws, the game is still a "MASTERPIECE"!

the Devs have gone above and beyond what I ever expected out of this multiplayer experience
kudos Bioware!

thank you for the honesty Eric, it is appreciated
please do your best to disregard the spoiled whining children tantrums

I am sorry to say this but there is no reasonable excuse for this.

The PC version of this game is directly in your hands, you don't need to pay to other parties for it, you control your servers and there is no legitime reason to no fix a really important issue like this one.

If you've got enhanced fingers and hands through SCIENCE(!!), then you can set key binding quickly before the wave 1 starts, you know? ;)

What percentage of PC players use custom keybindings (how many people are actually affected)?

What is the cause of the issue (which will determine how much time and work it will take to fix)?

Will fixing the issue potentially break other things?

How much QA time will it take to verify that the fix is working?

Also, the issue DOES affect the other platforms, if you have switched the controller setup to Southpaw or one of the other preset configurations (at least left handed PS3 players have reported this).  By fixing it on PC, you would be fixing an issue on PC that is also present on the other platforms.  Console players just seem less likely to use an alternate setup.

While I agree that it's disappointing that there will be no more patches, this is hardly surprising.  And it's not like there aren't real costs associated with even a PC only patch release.

You know, you're right. But still, I am so sad that biower (yes, that's how the company which makes half-baked stuff should be called) can't do proper testing for such a long time. I am not a hater, I really love Bioware, but you guys keep disappointing me with the quality of your products.

People say nice things about the Citadel DLC, I am sure I will check it out and maybe I will change my mind.

They are still paying the bills of the studio lights and the wages of people, no matter if they are working on bugfixing or doing nothing. The point is: the release of a PC patch it's not so money consuming like on consoles, steam and small PC studios release patches all night long.

We've looked into the key binding issue and we won't be able to fix it without a patch. Unfortunately, we don't have another patch planned at this time.

Does this also mean that we won't see a fix to the new missile glitch?

Thanks for being honest with us about it.

@Eric - If you want to PM me with specifics of the issue, I could have my team look at the issue and create a fan-patch.

Sounds like the community needs to start modding some of these errors. If they're not supporting mp they wont be banning either.
