Is this really such a problem? I rarely use the AIU, I don't even have the extract challenge for it done. In the 4 successful platinums I did yesterday for Lodestone I saw 1 AIU...which I outscored using an N7 Paladin.

I see more Krogan Warlords and Geth Juggernauts.

Can't we just let people play what they like?

It will take a small nerf.

It will still be overpowered.

People will cry that it's still an "i win button". People still cry that it's also ruined forever.

I'll continue to play whatever I want.

Oh wait... the QFI took multiple nerfs.... And people STILL play her, and have fun with her. Image IPB

If only it was this easy!

At the end of the day, I don't care who you are or why you want this character nerfed. All I know is that I'm going to be playing it in matches. If YOU don't like it, don't complain to me.

But the rest of it, yeah.

Let's make a prediction: whatever they do to AIU won't appease the nerfers and will enrage the AIU fanboys

As we know, the Alliance Infiltrator Unit is broken, and it will get a balance, I hope after this nerf this character won't be an "iWin instantly character no matter what"

And please, don't come with the typical argument against nerfing this character saying "The character is fine as it is, because i've seen a lot of people failing with it, blablablabla" well, is not my fault that they don't know how to exploit the abilities of this character, in this case is not that the character is balanced, is that the player don't know how to play it, and sadly that does not determinate if a character is balanced or not.

Wut?

Okay, on the one hand you state that the character is an 'iwininstantly' type of kit, that takes no skill to play.

On the other hand you state that it's not your fault that people fail, because they dont know how to exploit the abilities of the character or know how to play it.

So which is it?  Is it a 'insta-win' kit that does not require skill? Or does the kit require skill to play, and if you lack skills you will fail with it?

Personally, I hope they remove the RM altogether. Maybe substitute incinerate.  Because the sooner that is done the faster elitists will stop whinghing about AIU being 'iwininstantly' and over powered; and then we can concentrate on the game, and go back to the days where all PUGS are filled with Krogan, and Vorcha and Geth with flamers and reegars.  Nothing out of balance there

I will continue to play the AIU despite any nerf. Remove RM? Bring it!

Yeah, it's got to be a duration reduction, surely? Retains the utility, but means you need to be clever. Right now, you can use it pretty much like annihilation field, and just wap it on for the whole match. 22.5 seconds when maxed is plenty enough to do some damage and constantly refill your grenades without too much pesky thinking. Bring it down to something like 5 seconds, maximum of 12 with investment, and you've still got an infinitely castable power that saves your ops packs and medi-gel, but you've got to wake up on the right side of the bed to get its full utility. Spot on.

Honestly, I don't find any of them over-powered. I have a MUCH easier time with Vanguards, Adepts, and Engineers. I think the Infiltrator hate is mostly just hype....

The exact same hype I saw in NWN1 and 2 when the Shadowdancer came out.... even though any good Fighter could easily destroy a Shadowdancer....

It's the exact same hate, and outcry. Some people just hate stealth classes.

That is not skill related, that is lack of imagination :P

Imagination plays an important role in this game lol

^ This.

The whining and QQ from both sides is just so tiresome and sickening.

So what if it's an OP-I-win button?  So what if it's a crutch?  Does every one in every single lobby you join use it?  I can tell you right now that that's not the case.  *I* don't use the AIU.  I've played her once, just out of sheer curiosity.  It's a cute kit with interesting abilities.  BUT it's yet another kit that's VERY sensitive to the slightest bit of lag.

Hell, I see a whole lot more Juggernauts, female Turians, and hammered Krogans than AIUs in the PuGs I join.

Leave the AIU alone, nerf it, remove it from MP... I.  Really.  Don't.  Care.

I'll play ANY kit I want, as effectively as I spec it for, and make it work.  As I have always done.

I don't get how she is a iWin character? I could bet that a noob with that character won't even solo gold or platinum with her, the only easy/OP part I get is that she gets more than 20sec of shield regen when you activate repair matrix. I don't see a reason to remove the auto revive or nerf it, this is after all a "CO-OP" game, i seen a lot of people suck with her and some that make her look to easy but that's because a difference level in player skill, skill determines how a character is evaluated not the other way around.

That's because the overly-vocal "good players" (not necessarily denotes "good people" or otherwise) here, play nearly all kits well, AND can play the AIU well.  And deem the AIU kit as an I-Win button.

And they think every single ME3MP player should strive to be as elite as they are, and want to turn ME3MP into Nascar, where all kits are equal.

RedJohn changed his wrote...
1 duration of Repair Matrix should be reduced to 8-10 seconds instead of 15.
2. The damage reduction should be negative, so instead of giving real damage reduction it would be increasing the damage taken during Repair Matrix, in this way would be like Ascension mode, with the difference that in this case we get more damage taken for us for the price of instant revives.
3 The speedbonus should be reduced to the half
4 The shield restoration should also be reduced to the half.

LOL Activation of RM should have 30% chance to sinc-kill EDI and 30% chance to sinc-kill everybody on the map. That's will be true challenge.

In my opinion;

I did gold solos with the character and used the repair matrix as a "panic buton". When the surroundings got a litle too hot, i would activate a repair matrix and run to a different part of the map. Should i get downed, then the resurrection would get me back up and i would immediately pop another pill and continue my run.

I didnt just wade into hot zones and stand there killing. I dont think this is possible. You would get swamped and killed and run out of grenades. "Every" player cant do this.

A duration nerf will do little to its usage as a "panic button". Players will still use it then run away to take cover and get more grenades like i do.
A speed nerf will also do little. The kit is already fast enough and agile enough to get out of danger.
A damage reduction nerf will also mean that the kit will be below the standards of other kits damage reduction (tech armour, reave etc). Again i think the abilities utility as a panic button will be very negligibly reduced.
A reduction in the sheild restoration rate will also not be enough for smart players to use it as a panic button. On gold, sustained fire from 3 mooks will drop a stationary AIU with RM active in a few seconds at the moment anyway.

Repair matrix is based on defense matrix - an ability that gives damage reduction and sheidl restoration, so here those two abilities cant be nerfed too much becasue those are the characteristic parts.

The real problem with repair matrix is the auto resurrection. Its also its unique ability. Remove that and youve got a reskinned stim pack. The ressurection is the ability that is mimiced from Dr Eva in the SP and that is what is being translated into MP.  I also gather removing the ressurection would need a patch. And i dont think that is going to happen.

I predect that whatever nerf is brought about, I would still be able to use repair matrix  in much the sameway as i have been doing as mentioned above. And because of this, until the ressurection is removed, the moaners will call for a further nerf.

Youre kind of contradicting yourself right there. The kit cant be described as zero skill because you need to know how to use the abilities.

I do have a question for RedJohn - in your other thread i remember you saying that you could stand on an ammo box on platinum and just kill everything without moving. Thats quite a damning testimony. But i do find that very hard to believe. The enemy DPS incident on you is far higher than the sheild restoration rate, and you would get sync killed. Is there a youtube video of you backing up that claim?

I think the shield boost and revive will be split as part of the 6 a/b evolution. If the user chooses the revive function, it would place a -100 percent reduction in the shield restore and reduce the speed bonus.

Either that or charge capacity would stay at 1 with bonuses only coming from gear. Upgrade tree would be reduced where basically the only bonus for the player would be the revive.

Well thats too harsh imo. I really dislike the pro-nerfing campaign OP is doing, but personal attacks, come on...
