On January 13, there will be an update to the XBox 360 version of Dragon Age: Origins. This update will resolve an issue that caused the four achievements earned from the Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner DLC to not appear during the first four days of the game's launch. If you have already completed the requirements for these achievements, they will appear automatically when you next start Dragon Age: Origins while signed in to the EA servers.

While I haven't experienced the specific issues noted above (I've experienced different issues), as a 360 player, I am glad to see that we'll be getting some attention. Thank you!   I hope there will be more to come.

Does that mean RTO is coming out as well? And does this update just fix the achievements or other bugs as well?

This is just for the achievements issue, and isn't be an indication of RtO launch.

Believe me, after all the attention RtO has gotten, that announcement will get its own thread. Because we all love those threads ;)

I do not wish to sound like a troll, Maker forbid, however...is this update really only fixing the Achievement bug?
Really? That's all? Please respond soon clarifying that said update is going to fix far more. Now, I have not experienced any of the game breaking Bugs mentioned in the 360 support forums, however, the dex-bug has essentially been keeping me from playing the game in it's entirety once more since Leiliana is essentially useless aside from taking out traps and lock-picking, plus, I have been unable to play the Rogue class unless I want to use the cunning trick build which feels...lacking.

For the record, I understand the Devs are under a Mountain of pressure, and I wish there was more that we, the fans, could do to help. None the less, finally announcing a Console patch that only fixes something that is, in the greaters scheme of things, rather worthless, seems like a poor choice in judgement to me. Yes, some will likely argue that 'some' mention of a patch is better than none...but, come on. Please, please Bioware, tell me there is more to it.

NVM if the patch is only to fix achievements then it doesn't do me much good.

^ What he said. Is this patch only fixing those achievements and nothing else? Or is there another upcoming patch that will fix the many bugs and glitches I have unfortunately experienced in the 360 version that are well-documented here on the boards?

Without going too deep into the decision-making process, it often falls to opportunity. This is a DLC issue that we have the opportunity to get out of the way before releasing more DLC, so we're grabbing it. It doesn't mean that's all the support we'll ever offer the XBox, but we can do this much right now.

I'm working with Fernando and the other developers to try an get more information out to you on future releases and I hope that once we accomplish some regular and meaningful system of updating info on upcoming fixes, you'll see that we really are hard at work to make this the solid gaming experience you deserve. But new means of information release are a process that requires a lot of coordination from a lot of groups. So I am still working on it, but it's my main commitment.

I predict 200 pages in 5 hours :D

Good that the 360 is getting a patch though (I play on PC). My brother has been dying without anything.

Just to clarify, what I'm getting is that this patch is only going to fix the DLC achievement issue and nothing else. But at some point in the future we may see another patch that will fix other things. Correct?

Does this mean there will still be a patch along with RtO fixing gameplay issues, or is this it?

I want to know too.
I hope they fix the bug with that sidequest in the Alienage making it impossible to complete.

They have said there will be a patch (1.02b I think) for the 360 with RtO.

They said there was one coming out close to when RtO does, but I've seen nothing saying that this isn't that patch. Where are you getting that there's another in addition to this one that's coming out when RtO does?

F. Melo from another thread
The first console update has been tied to RtO when we announced its original date, so yes in that case with RtO slipping it also delayed the release of the update - we can't separate those at this point - but folks working on patches/updates continue plugging away on a new wave of fixes that didn't make it into the first update, independent of RtO/first update release.

Just to be completely clear here: no one cares about the achievement glitch. It affects nothing. We knew that it would be fixed eventually and the people concerned about that would get their extra 100 points or whatever they are complaining about.

The 360 version has game play bugs and game breaking bugs. Can we get a definitive answer: Is another patch coming with RtO that addresses these bugs?

At least someone is trying their best efforts to give us a heads up. Achievements fix or not, its a good sign that Bioware are making steps for us console gamers. Yes just in time though, im getting a second copy of DAO. I was hasty to trade my first copy. "Dont be hasty" Pippin to Merry...

As other people have said, yes, there is a patch coming out alongside RtO that fixes other, more important bugs. If you don't want to take our word for it here, go and look through some other threads yourself to confirm what we're saying.

Like Bllack Falcon said, and other people too (sharing the love) this ONLY fixes the achievements but there WILL be another patch released with RtO, it got moved back when the DLC did too.

So you just have to wait for the DLC and then the real patch fixing the bugs will be released also.

Note you do NOT need to buy the DLC to get the patch.
