So let me get this straight...
No balancing of the dexterity which makes the rouge class damn near unplayable.
No fixed scaling which some battles near impossible.
Huh? I had a rogue and she rock and rolled through the game. She was doing a ton of damage and she was the easist completion I had. I've done mage and warrior as well. (catching the swine is a good way to play through games as you can do little else.)
As far as scaling battles? If you can't beat it you're probably not strong enough to or your tactics are bad. I know I've been spanked by quite a few battles I thought were impossible until I changed the tactics I was using. Marjolane was one of them. (Not with my rogue, my mage and warrior got spanked)

nobody mentioned if they played it or if it was any good thats why i brought it up
It is short as people have said. There is a swarm of good loot - although I'm at that Monty Haul state where I'm tossing out some primo stuff because there's no one to give it. Heck, Cailin's Armor isn't even really worth keeping if you've got Juggernaut, Legion and Blood Dragon.
I liked it because it was unfinished business in terms of my investment in the game and it seemed like something my PC and Allistair and Wynne would want to resolve.

Well duh you can finish the game with a rogue, but your rogue isn't doing the damage it SHOULD be doing with dexterity.
Again, odd how that didn't just suck the enjoyment out of the game for me missing out on doing a few extra damage points. Cripes it's a bug but it shouldn't ruin your gaming experience since it isn't like your rogue is going HTH with another PC that isn't bugged. I didn't know I was being "cheated" and frankly never noticed it.

Read previous posts. Certain classes are crippled due to stats not registering into combat. And as for being avoidable, how so? I've tried these "work arounds" that are posted about how to avoid over loading a merchant. They don't work. My last save that actually worked was in the middle of Anvil of the Void quest. Any time I would near the landsmeet, within a few hours of doing so my saves became corrupted.
Once more rogues are not crippled. My rogue was devestating in combat as a dual wielder. I don't know how muhc damage I was missing but I never noticed it.
I've 1 corrupted game out of 12 the wife and I have played - and we're not doing anything to try and avoid the glitches since no one can actually seem to explain what really does make it happen. It does happen but it certainly is the exception to the rule.
