why wouldn't anyone take wrex and their love interest on all 3 missions?
at least first playthrough.
Because Wrex was dead and Shep is single. On topic, I had Garrus and Liara and it was pretty similar. Garrus asks if he was the only one to miss the elevator conversations. Liara said yes.

So I just took Wrex with me on all three missions and filled the last slot with my favorite characters, Garrus first and then EDI.

the screaming head in the trash was great.
What? In the cart outside the elevator?
I didn't get the screaming head (even though it was in my cabin) - I got the Space Hamster in the trash!
Shep read a note talking about disposing of it into an animal shelter because a warship was not an appropriate place for it. He got pretty pissed about it, lol.

Garrus asked anyone if they'd like to discuss their people's history. Tali shot him down with some authority, then Garrus got his trollface on and commented about how he missed those talks so much. Then Tali called him terrible.
Second play through: EDI and James. Mixed it up every mission this second play.
I'm surprised how much I liked these two on the last mission. I rarely use them. But with Wrex dead, Jimmy did save my bacon at the start of the DLC, and EDI -is- the Normandy. So I figured I'd take her along too. I was not disappointed.
Firstly, at the start of the mission the mercs shut EDI down in the Normandy, and that lead to a very funny scene in the car with Joker. Once on the elevator, Vega comments about things getting personal, as clone Shepard is hold up in -his- cargo bay. This prompts a pseudo-psychotic rant from EDI about "proprietary outrage" that was possibly her best dialog in the series.

Wrex: 'Remember all those years ago on the Citadel, when I asked who'd win in a fight between you and Shepard?'
W: 'Remember how you thought it was a pointless question? Look at us now!'
Kaidan: 'I was really hoping you'd forgotten that.'
W: 'Aah, look on the bright side. In a few minutes, you'll have your answer!'
Wow this is beautiful

Garrus: "So anybody want to talk about their people's history?"
Wrex: "Nope."
Garrus: "So I'm the only one who misses when we used to chat in the elevators back on the Citadel?"
Wrex: "Yep"
Garrus: "So dissappointed."
Just the way Garrus says the last line had me cracking up, since he talked about this with Tali in ME2 and she gave him pretty much the same answer.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was confused who would replace Wrex's role in the DLC.

Yeah, this. Sorry Wrex, but non-primitives get priority.Shad Croly wrote...
