 I have seen lots of post asking how to get the cute nug. Many people say that they cannot find it or do not know how to get it. Well look no further your answer is here. I have done this method multiple times and have had a 100% success rate.

1st step. Before heading into Orzammar go into your party camp and start a conversation with Leliana. You may need to initiate several conversations if you have not spoken to her very often. Make sure that you have listened to all of her conversations and she has no more plot related topics to talk about. (Note. This is the most vital step that most people do not do to gain the nug. Also make sure that you have a good approval rating with her. She may not talk about the nug in Orzammar if she does not like you. )

Step 2. Head into Orzammarand find Nug Wrangler Boermor. Talk to him and agree to find some nugs for him. (Note. i am not sure if this has anything to do with Leliana talking about Nugs but i have always done this step first)

Step 3. While in Orzammar initiate a conversation with Leliana. This Should trigger a cut scene with her telling you some of her thoughts on Orzammar and also that she thinks Nugs are cute and would like one as a pet.

Step 4. Head to Dust Town and find the Idle Dwarf. Start a conversation with him and ask him about Nugs. He will agree to find one for you and ask's you to come back later.

Step 5. Head to the Orzammar Commons. As soon as you enter the commons go straight back into Dust Town and head back to the Idle Dwarf. He should have a nug for you. Do not give him 20 silver, with the correct conversation you can get it for 5 silver.

You should now have the Nug in your inventory, Gift it to Leliana and head back to the camp to see the results.

(Note. You can go to the camp and do Step 1 even if you have already visited Orzammar. i Have only put it as step 1 because it is the most important part to get the nug and it is always the first thing i do before i enter Orzammar.)

I hope this quick guide helps all of you Nug hunter out there to find that special gift for Leliana.

The dragonage wiki did not have much information on this topic. I just added the 1st and most important step to the wiki. I hope that helps all that use that resource.

I always skip step 2 and just talk to her when we get to Oz. She then tells me about the nug.

Also I found that after you talk to the nug guy in dust town, just go into the merchant shop there in dust town , and walk back out does the same as Step 5.

Does anybody know how high her approval needs to be, exactly? I tried in my last game, when she was around 60 or so, and she refused to talk about the nug then.

I have always had her in the romance mode when I get there, but wiki states it needs to be 80.

There's no approval condition that I can find in the toolset. If you select her in Orzammar, she ought to have a line 'I have heard much about the halls of the dwarven kings, but the stories do it no justice.'

Is it possible to find other nugs besides the 5-6 in Orzammar Commons that you give to the Nug Wrangler, and the couple in the Pearl and the Cute Nug for Leliana (which you can't give to the Nug Wrangler anyway)? I ask because I noticed in Prima's strategy guide (which is terribly written and organized) it says you can find up to 10 nugs, and after returning 10 or more to the Nug Wrangler you'd get a reward (whether its money or an item I can't remember).



Has anyone noticed any other random nugs in the Deep Roads or Thaigs? Just wondering...

Use her "ask Leliana about the place we're in" function in Orzammar, and she'll mention nugs in the ensuing dialog. I've never had that fail.

There are no approval conditions for getting the Nug. Just make sure you have had all conversations in the camp and you should be fine.



To the question about the ten Nugs.

I have played through this game over ten time and i have not found more than six. I have searched through various forums and looked at many game guides (official and non-offical) but have still found no extra information on the last 4 nugs for the reward.

An extra note to those who ask why this is not on the dragon age Wiki.



I did add this information in even more detail on the wiki. But certain people did not like the way that i set out the information so all my input has been erased except for the part about all conversations in the camp.

I will never put my information on the Wiki again because other people can edit or even erase the info you added and redo it as your own.

If you check the dates on this form you can actually see the dates that a topic was started and if you look hard through this forum you will find that this is the first fully explains step by step how to get the nug.

I kinda recall her saying something about them not being cute.. but I can't get her to talk about them now.. I'll try the original post here, the one involving dust town, and commons.. I've tried so many times and actually during one attempt she started hitting on me, lol.. I was like "oh noes!! Not my goal here!" I want to get this quest done.. Thanks for the post! I've read at the wiki recently but it didn't have as many details at the time, nor ideas.. But it gave me the headstart

It worked! I'd tried all these things but I guess the order was wrong! I went back into Dust Town and he offered. I don't recall Leliana discussing nugs but at one point it seemed she said they looked funny. I sometimes skip dialogue (I know lol) due to being ready to get back into the action (I get impatient sometimes).. So, I may have missed her talking about it.. But she's got it now! Thanks you guys. I read all the posts and appreciate all the input!

Thanks for posting this! I was trying to get Leliana a nug on my last playthrough but wasn't able to, so I gave up on the idea Next time!

There are two in denerim in the Pearl, but I can't get them - it says they avoid eye contact and look busy. I got there by talking to Sanga and telling her 'surprise me'. Not sure how to get the ten nugs for the nug wrangler. Oh, and don't know if I missed getting the nug or not - I went to the nug wrangler and Lilianna said that she didn't like nugs cause they were dirty. LOL

Still think I screwed up getting the nug - All she talks about is the stone and stuff when talking about Orzammar, and when I went to the wrangler, she said she didn't like nugs because they were dirty.
