Hi all,

I have a lot of extra freetime, so I am going to be a late starter and play the Mass Effect Series.   My question is that years ago I played the first Mass Effect, and was wondering if I needed to play it again, or will the addon that lets  you "make the choices of ME" do what i need it to do for ME2 and ME3.

By add-on, do you mean the prolouge comic that you can get for ME2 to make big decisions from ME1? Then yes, the comic lets you choose major decisions from ME1. There are certain choices, however, that you cannot choose and are automatically default (one choice that cannot be decided by the comic is saving Kirrah). But you should be fine if you have the interactive prolouge comic for ME2.

Alternatively, you can go to http://www.masseffectsaves.com/

From there, you can download mass effect 1 and mass effect 2 end-of-game saves, that you can use for importing purposes. They have several different playthroughs, with different choises made, to select from.

The layout of the site is a bit confusing - took me a while to see where the relevant links are. On the upper left hand corner, there are two links "Mass effect 1" and "Mass effect 2". Pick one of those. Then, on the bottom of the image with Shepard, Miranda and Thane, as a part of the image, you have Male Shepard links on the left, and Female Shepard links on the right. Click on one of the links for the alignment you want, select a romance option, and you'll be given a list of the relevant saves that you can download.

Thanks, I found a save that was very close to my old save and now have Mordan, Zaheed, and Garrus, and now i need to go to bed and figure out who next will be recruited.

Yes, Mordin is awesome (he gets even funnier later on in the game). He is also very viable on missions (expecially on hardcore/insanity difficulty level). Dat cryo ammo and incenerate XD
