Dear Bioware,

I have loved video games for a long time, my
favourite gaming series was Halo, the Sci-Fi universe Bungie created was
amazing. Then one day, my mum comes back from Blockbusters and says 'I saw this
game, though you might like to try it so I rented it for you'. This game was
none other than Mass Effect and immediately I was hooked. Not long after the
rental was returned I went to the nearest GAME store and bought a pre-owned
MASS EFFECT COLLECTORS EDITION, it was battered dinted but it was working and
that was all I cared about.

Now I’ll admit my first attempt at a full play
through stopped at Feros, when I didn't understand what was going on and I went
back to Halo. But sometime after I discovered how good the game was, after that
my vanilla male Shepard reached over 80+ hrs of in-game time. Every mission and
side mission completed the Paragon way, the same with ME2 and the same with ME3.

I have to admit the trilogy has been rough on me,
ME3 nearly broke me. Going to college all I ever thought about was Mass Effect
3, how I was going to end, what would happen. I'm proud to admit that tears
fell when certain characters died, smiles and shivers went down my spine when
characters like Wrex were re-entered into the game at key points. My love
interest was Liara and nothing over all three games, no Miranda and her ass, no
Tali and her face and no Ashley and her poems. I loved each and every
character, interacted with them for new dialogue whenever possible. I simply
wanted to live in the Mass Effect universe.

It is a bit geeky, but I'm happy to admit I have
listened to every piece of Mass Effect music, both on the soundtrack and other
tracks available in the games sound files. I’ve read every book (apart from
deception, what was going on there?), read every comic book and acquired all
the collector’s edition guide books just for their artwork and detail.

I am proud to say I own the Collector’s Edition of
Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 3, I have a Standard Edition Mass Effect 2
(because I'm a fool). I have all the soundtracks and mean to acquire all the
comics in the new book coming out soon.

I'm sure as hell not the biggest or greatest Mass
Effect fan, but I'm proud to have been part of the journey right until the end,
which wasn't as bad as first perceived. Thank you for such as brilliant gaming
series, when I have children I will be talking to them about Mass Effect as my
parents talked to me about Mario.

Thank you Bioware, thank you to all your support
and creation throughout this glorious trilogy, not everyone may have liked it
all. But if any video game series is to be called a masterpiece its Mass Effect.

Here’s to you Bioware and all the Bioware Staff,

Thanks, Daniel.
