Just a thought, but as I listened to all the Anderson stuff at the start of the DLC it struck me that it might have been foreshadowing ME4. It struck me again as I saw the history holos in the vault.

ME4:- First Contact?

First Contact? Would be the crappiest Mass Effect ever produced. A war against a race we already know about, who basically bombarded a planet into submission using asteroids, whoop-de-whoop.

Sorry, but it'd bore the buttocks off of me. I'd rather expand the story, rather than tread over old ground.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think a prequel would be any good, and I don't see a sequel working either.

Just a thought I had as I listened to the ton of Anderson stuff...

Most of these things was already written in books and comics, this was just recapitulation.

Nah. Prequels don't work that well, especially if you know so much stuff about those events already. We even know the bodycount on both sides!

ME4 might be set up in a distant future, maybe 200, 300 years after ME3, so Shepard is still a name that gets somebody's attention - in history classes. But I don't expect to see much more on this topic. Maybe we can import old savegames so Shepard is either a "he" or a "she" and MAYBE some -really- big decisions have some minor impact in the future. But overall, I doubt it's going to be much more than that.

We still have the Control-Synthesis-Destruction issue 'though. Which one will be canon? Actually, Control and Destruction work fine, since the Reapers don't need to be around in case you picked Control. But Synthesis gives me a headache.
