I have tons of "precious" stones such as Garnet, Malachite. etc......as well as "valuables" such as golden vases, silver chalices, etc. I have been hanging on to them because the description makes them sound so important, but I am about 15 hrs into the game and have yet to find a use for them. Are they just there for us to sell for extra money??? If that is the case, how pointless...

They are just there to sell. Sure, you can argue that it's pointless as you could've just had the money as loot instead, but I like to think that, should you find yourself with a full pack, it makes it a bit more interesting; do you choose to keep the gems and sell them later, or do you chuck 'em and pick up some interesting looking loot?
