Now as we all know dragon age has ALWAYS been about the story and characters, hell bioware is well known for that. The gameplay however remains....lackluster when compaired. Now what changes would be best that are original and or completly stolen from other games? Id honestly like to see some special way to deal with encounters from time to time,an example i can think of is actuly giving some groups of enemies there own disablers/healers which would be anoying until killed.

Hmm i swear there was a similar thread a week a two ago, and that any suggestion in here holds no weight, but what the heck?

Add in human enemies actively using stat based equipment like the pc, and friends who can loot them off their corpses afterwards. Human enemies using the exact same stat system allowing them to dish out, and endure damage like the pc. Human enemies using similarly paced combat animations, while using basic talents similar to the pc's, along with original ones. Increased chances of status effects towards the player, increased effectiveness of elemental resistances for the party, improved enemy AI, weather, and it affecting combat like in my old post below...

An in depth weather system like Realmzmaster suggests would create disadvantages in combat, but it doesn't mean that there would be no workarounds like supplementary magic, enchantments, potions, weather resistant gear, etc. The positives of weather effects could be increased spell potency like higher chances of freezing, burns, stagger, damage, range, and reduced cool downs. A decrease in visibility like fog/mist would hamper long range accuracy (dependent on stats) but on the flip side could allow for rogues to stealthily maneuver on the battlefield to flank enemies, and rack up on critical hits.

Other positives are that all the classes could also have an innate bonus to weather effects in combat. Rogues would maintain the same mobility in most weather conditions, while mages thrive on the positive boosts of weather, and warriors are more resistant to weather induced ailments. Also boss enemies would be immune to certain weather effects, but lieutenant class and lower are bound to the same rules as the player's party. <sighs> I can only dream.

lol hiero thinking of that frostfall mod for skyrim after reading that

one of my bigger frustrations in DA2 on nightmare was the elemental resists of mobs, then you had the lieutenants buffing them, then them taking potions imagine if you threw healers in there aswell, ohhhh my id need to pre order a ton of keyboards lol

Aside from Frostfall i'm having flashbacks of New Vegas' Temperature, and Realistic Hardcore Mode mods.

The increased resistances were similar to the enemies being padded out with large amounts of health, which turned most of the fights into slugfests. I'd prefer if the ai were increased to the point that enemies purposely bottle neck, out flank, tactical retreat from, and divide your party during combat.

I'm typically not a fan of whacked out style fighting, seems too arcade to me. But I have to say... when I played KoA I was always looking to fight, weird...
