what about a scene where you could fly a dreadnaught and fight against another dreadnaught like epic space battle style or or bombard a planet.. that sure beats driving a MAKO!
flying a dreadnaught and a cruiser double nice!

I'm just going to put a small comment forward: I do not want a bigger ship. Or a bigger headquarters. Or a bigger house. Or a bigger [insert hub].

If that comment isn't enough for you, and you want to know why:

The bigger those areas are, the more cluttered they are, and/or the longer it takes (or the more awkward it is) to get to the parts that matter: be it gear, consoles, equipment, or characters.

Not saying I want the hub to just be the entire squad playing sardines in a closet (although...) but there's a reason in all games with the options I choose small homes with amenities access - regardless of how much time I may spend there. (TES:Oblivion's waterfront was enough for me - it had storage, and a bed. There were guilds in other cities anyway.)

Normandy is divided into levels, which gets a little annoying if I want to reset my powers, change my armour, and check my loadout to see whether I need to spec for carry weight, etc - but it is a necessary evil, due to limited memory on console systems (and unknown memory on computers). While Citadel is AMAZING and HOLY CRAP WOW I find the Silversun hub awkward to navigate. Its clutter and bright wash of distracting colours, and the length of space to run to meet objectives, makes finding the markers for meeting (ex-)squaddies difficult.

A big ship? All the engine-related gear (armour, loadout, powers) would likely be spread throughout to encourage exploration. So when I know what the ship looks like, and I know the people, and I've talked to them, etc etc... it just means spending ages running back and forth to get 'r done.

BW has said, many, many times, through different people, mediums, interview, ad nauseum that the next ME will not feature Shepard or "Shepard 2". So NO we're not getting another "another bad ass solider type dude"

The fact that you thin Normandy and Shepard are so awesome and unique is a function of the writing and exposition, not their "real" scope/power. Just wait.

I'm still pretty much with my original idea smaller ship and old disused space station as hub. But one thing I would really like is if the new protagonist is not Spectre or Soldier, that when we visit the Citadel we are in the dirtier lower wards instead of the ones we have seen. Would love to see the underbelly of life on the Citadel, not everyone is diplomats, rich or living in the open luxury shown in Mass effect 2&3. Go back to the lower wards.

In ME1 there were loadsahubs.

In ME2 there were 5 hubs including the SB ship.

In ME3 there was one hub. ._.

If we are using it as a home base, I would prefer a smaller ship. I felt it to be a bit of a chore to go around the crew on the SR2.

Is number of hubs really a good way of judging game quality or even quality of content? Would you sacrifice Rannoch or Tuchanka for being able to dock in Illium and Omega? I for one am glad there's less hubs. Less aimless cruising for quests and a more directed story, where you know the quests will all be found on the Citadel or messaged to you.

That completionist urge in many of us had us jumping planets and sitting through load screens just to see "what's new" in the hubs.

Also, as someone mentioned, having a massive home base just makes everything finnicky you do with your characters or teammates take a heck of a lot longer

The ship should be more interactive, the ship mechanics from STO would actually fit quite well in ME and gives more depth to the game instead of the shallow click-to-move scheme.

The bigger it is, the more irrelevant it's likely to be to what we're actually doing.

Yep. Although there's the other extreme with just a berth/pod/bunk/loadout screen. But I think everyone on here is smart enough to realize a tight ship like the Normandy worked, especially in ME2-3, because it felt relevant everywhere, not just space for the sake of square footage

I wouldn't mind if they kept the Normandy about the same size. I would like to see that maybe with this new FB3 engine, that you can ask your crew members to follow you for conversations instead of being stuck in their rooms.

We need a bigger ship? How about a dreadknought, giveing you the ability to say "Target! Maximum Firepower!".I always fancied some sort of imperial superpower in ME (Protheans do not count). If the next ME turns out to be a prequal pitting Humans against Turians, we need a dreadknought!

Um... Citadel: Presidum, Normandy SR1, Noveria and Feros. DLC Pinnacle Station.

Citadel: Zakera Ward, Normandy SR2, Omega and Illium. DLC: Shadowbroker ship.

Citadel: Presidium, Normandy SR2, DLC: Citadel: Silversun Strip.

Given all the Hubs boil down to a Bar, a Nightclub and a small market, I'm not sure we really lost much.

The new protagonist should get the hijacked Destiny Ascencion with a skeleton crew of like 10 people. ALL OF THE SHIP LAYOUT UNLOCKED!!! Endless spooky corridors, crushing boredom after going through the 100th identical room.

Now THAT would be ambitious on the dev's part

Agree the new ship has to be a retrofitted rich guys space cruiser with pool. Although I would love a battle onboard which knocks out gravity leading to a zero g gun fight through floating water.

And the idea to hijack Destiny Ascension is great though with comments about crushing boredom after entering 100th identical room is tempting me to make DA2 reference :)

Yeah, let's put the new protagonist in charge of a dreadnought (or why not the Citadel, now that we know it's mobile?) whilst leading 3 man away team missions.

I'd prefer a smaller ship. Shepard having a big ship made sense, because he was in the military. The new protag will probably be a normal person. I'd like to see a ship more the size of the Ebon Hawk in the KOTOR series. Just enough room for the protag, and the squadmates. We don't need 30 crew members standing around, doing nothing.

A lot of people are having trouble accepting Bioware's word that the next game will not feature some military type. Half the suggestions here are simply impossible.

Safehouses would do nicely. For ships longrangestealthfighters or shuttles would make more sense if you havnt got a massive military buget.

Otherwise you would have to be batman type super wealthy busines man or shadowbroker or mastermind criminal with wast resources equal to that of whole earth nations... Or henchman for such a person or organization.
Making it make sense would be hard enough.
The cost of the two normandy vessels were astronomical where most special ops operations are concerned, it almost broke immersion as it was.
However I told myself it was a massive PR stunt pulled by the alliance to make humanity look good. Something similar to the moon landings.
I doubt every Protagonist will be as pampered as Shepard.

I like the idea of having a dreadnought or cruiser cause then you have a massive crew aboard. There will be a lot you can do on it. Probably a bigger communications room in the center of the command deck, somewhere have a training room or a firing range, have a more variety of squad mates on board the ship like in ME2.
But hopefully they kind of do bring back the Normandy in some way like its in a military museum and they talk about the battles it took place, who was in command of the ship, who were on board the vessel, and etc.

Yeah, well, it's hard to imagine a third person cover shooter where the hero is a librarian re-shelving books.
Whatever they say, the next game will not be Sims: ME

I just want to get rid of the loading screens. And the ME3 Alliance weapon scanner. I want to be able to move around my own ship.
