In the case that ME4 has a multiplayer, which I don't doubt it should, please consider the following:
I don't know where this started in games, but in every game with a gun, the smgs has been classed has high rates of fire but with little accuracy. Now I know they aren't sniper rifles, but in ME3, they aren't even accurate past 20m let alone 100. Let's limit things to controllable factors such as recoil, stopping power which can either be Force, or damage, and bullet penetration. Niche abilities such as shield stripping, bleed effects(kishok, graal), and ramp ups are totally fine too.
However, stats which are not fine are cones of fire and random bullet spread. I don't know how these bastard stats bled over from Battlefield 3 into ME3 but you only have to look at what happened to the M-76 Revenant to see what I am talking about. If I ever wanted a weapon that could make perfect circular silhouettes around my target without hitting what was inside the circle, I would choose that.
Let's return weapons to skill based and not RNG. A weapon has high recoil? Lets just make sweet love to our mice in downward strokes to control vertical climb. Horizontal recoil? A little side to side tugging for variety never killed anyone either. What I personally don't want is behaviors which no matter where I put my mouse curson, it is between chance and God as to whether or not any rounds hit the target.
Also, let's take a look at matchmaking. Asking for dedicated servers is probably a lesson in futility as ME4 is sure to just be another console port. However, please show ping in the lobbies or allow match making to only happen in regions you select. If I pick some place like North America, what I don't want is to be matched to some guy with 700 ping in the mountain regions of Tibet.(Just an example you crazy Tibetan people you.) Equipping level 4 consumeables and being hotjoined into a match you can't play in, because the host is on the other side of the world is really quite annoying.
Some future thoughts about ME4
