Bioware is Already Hard at Work on Mass Effect 3 Storylineby Eric Bush

During
CES 2010 in Las Vegas, BioWare project manager Casey Hudson sat down
with IGN for a lengthy interview regarding Mass Effect 2 DLC (and other
Bioware related topics), and surprisingly admitted that the
super-talented development team are already hard at work on the
completely new story for Mass Effect 3. Check out a couple passages
from the Q&A with Mr. Hudson below and stay tuned for more on the
third game in this series once the second, Mass Effect 2, is released
later this month:
“We are already at work on Mass Effect 3,” he said, “building the
first bits of the story, putting that together [but] there will be
great downloadable content throughout the time that Mass Effect 2 is
out there while people are waiting for the third one. “You’ll always
have great stuff. New adventures to play. New things to do. We don’t
have anything specifically announced yet, but we basically plan for DLC
pretty shortly after the release of the game and then a pretty intense
schedule of downloadable content throughout.“This is one of the big
improvements that we’ve been able to do for Mass Effect 2. Lots of DLC
and lots of really high quality DLC that players can look forward
to.”As far as how long it will take to get it to the public is
concerned, Hudson reckons that it will not take another two years
before rabid fans will get their hands on it – like with Mass Effect
2.“We always wanted to make sure that we got the entire trilogy of
games done within this console’s life cycle. We didn’t want to take
forever with it,” he declared.
“So we definitely want to make Mass Effect 3 a fairly short
turnaround, but also being that it needs to be a tremendous and epic
conclusion to the trilogy.“I think the exciting thing in the final
chapter of the series is going to be just seeing where everything goes
that we started. With Mass Effect and now Mass Effect 2, you’ll see
when you play it, all of these threads keep going. And not only that,
all of the choices you’ve made too. You made choices in Mass Effect and
you’ll see those in Mass Effect 2. “And it just cascades – people will
see that by the time you finish Mass Effect 2, you’ll know that it’s
your universe — everything is the way you set it out — and that all of
these things get to come to fruition and some kind of ending in the
final chapter."

Ummm.... Mass Effect 3?? Already working on it? I would think after making Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 the would take a break but, Mass Effect 3 making already? I wonder how tired they would be since people that work there stay up all night long..

Calm down guy, if people are going to start getting that far ahead of themselves we need to lay down some laws.

1. Unless its about a video thats been released, no one is allowed to talk about a game until atleast 6 months before a game is released.

2. You cannot be excited about a game unless you have beaten all the games before it in the series.

3. No threads about a game in a different game's forums.

Not sure I agree about point 2. One can very well have the emotion of "excitement" upon hearing about and/or seeing trailers of a video game without having played the previous ones.

Yes, we need to play Mass Effect 3 before December 2012. Then I can die happy.

BioWare is gonna cause 2012 anyway. TOR is gonna be released on that date, Dec. 21st, 2012, causing widespread lethargy, and the inevitable collapse of society.

This last part is just obnoxious since the devs are directing ME fans to sign up here since they're shutting down the other forum shortly and moving all the Mass Effect forums here... as was stated, on the 18th.  So for all intents and purposes a thread in the '>>Bioware General>>Off-Topic' forum seems more than appropriate for now.

I hope they don't do that, it's bad enough trying to find things on here, without them talking about that game.

Well, I imagine there will be a separate Mass Effect section... so you should be able to filter things out that way.

Then this would be the Mass Effect and Dragon Age forums, but for right now it is just the Dragon Age forums.

Have you ever read what it says at the top of these forums?? What it doesn't say is Dragon Age: Origins forum, what it does say is :-
Forums - English
Discussion of BioWare games and news.

I bolded the important part for you just incase you missed it, so dont be an ass to people talking in Bioware General > off topic about ME 1/2/3 until the ME forums get put up. It will only give you a bad reputation.

I wasn't calling you an ass, just saying dont act like one. I know ME wasn't one of your favourite Bioware games so why get involved in the conversation?

Do not bump months old threads unless you plan to contribute meaningfully to it. Posting what amounts to "me too" does not qualify.
