That's why Cain mines should get a nerf and bow should get a good buff.

Cain mines are kind of infinite Cobra missles. A broken skill that reduces other 2 powers to Cain Mines supplier.

Yeah, Cain mines are powerful, but that's just boring as hell to me.

I'm having a lot more fun with the no PS claymore cabal right now though.

The juggernaut is probably way behind on a list based on speedy damage output even if can be optimised to... Well not suck at it or maybe rather be average about it.

However... I do love how much more as a team supporting character it feels and that team help can be hard to quantify.

Alas I've never yet got a power amp mod :(
but the Talon *IS* extremely powerful
those mines rip spawns and choke points to sweet hell, and can save the groups ass by having one BEHIND your group or such

on wave 1 I toss mines in good spawn points or choke points, race for ammo
sort of rinse repeat in waves, use thermal clip packs to keep the numbers high or in emergency

tossing mines can help stop a sync kill

IMHO, radius of blast is much better than damage to ensure you hit plent of mobs, at least up to gold (I dont' do platinum)

best not to put two above each other, but two or three mines spaced out horizontally
why waste two mines on mooks?
horizontal placement means first mine guaranteed to kill all mooks
second one will catch any bosses or those that were staggered, surived somehow, or following group
note the stagger of the blast helps make things bunch up for further explosions or AOE attacks, kind of like why a proximity mine and a recon mine for other classes can make nice combo

for example a reocn mine in a doorway wipes most, and a character with Flamer or snap freeze ability can fire that through before or after as they please, using the stagger of the blast to delay enemy

you don't need to worry much on weight, so I run with a harrier and reega carbine for close/far

yes, a scopes helps a lot for placement but I tend ot be more mobile, throwing mines at "good" points and shooting/running away at mid/long with harrier, or ambushing with the reegar

tossing out 3+ mines in emergency close by will clear most enemies, not as good as a rocket but not bad either, rare cases it's even more devastating than a rocket if it's nice tight corridor and you toss 'em in horizontal progression in a swarm of mobs..."ripple" detonation, kaBOOMSKI! :P

bow = crap! dont use it :/ except maybe point blank in desperation (concussive ones)

I like playing the Human engineer, but usually folk don't think much of them because of lower point scores, but ignore fact the combat drone does so much to help the group as drones and decoys take heat off the players which is alas is not easily measured in points, but DOES improve chances of complete extraction

I think the GI is the worst kit in the game. I've tried so hard to kill stuff with Hunter Mode but it just doesn't work at all.

One power works for the Geth Trooper.

I agree Red John. I've been saying this for a while. If you can play a squishy character and stay up, the Talon is the most powerful character in the game right now in terms of just DPS.

Yes because he would be totally useable then with his ****** poor health and shields. The only thing whatsoever the character has is the damage from those mines, if they touch that he's done.

No I don't use the bow even in between waves :P

Yup, that's what I did the first time around.  Since then, I put 4 in AP Arrows for add'l grenades and 4 ranks in Fitness for a little extra health and shields.
What weapon do you like on him?

I like PPR & Scorpion (EM + Power Mod)

I usually play him with a power amp.


I thought in take CSMG for the power amp mod, but then I realized that I didn't need it, with PPR enemies don't last very much.

*facepalm, i didn't do that because I considered her the most powerful, i did it because I consider Repair Matrix a broken ability, I have also said that her damage output is fine, her cloak is fine, but Repair Matrix should be rebalanced.

The fact that I like something doesn't mean that I will be totally blind about its defects.

Not true with the all consumable rule, they just pop all thermal clips at once and the atlas is long dead before you get ridof shields. But in general yeah, with good positioning, that thing kills.

I can't get thermal clips man.

The only way I can get it is when I reset the character an spec it again as I wish, jump in match and everything is fine, but if I leave the lobby then my thermal clip disspear.

Juggernaut+Volus Engineer is a perfect base for any platinum match. Add in two high-DPS characters like the TGI and Geth Flamer Trooper, and you have an effective method of dealing with threats and preventing team death.

His landmine is the only part of it that is remotely purposeful, and there's no justification for being THAT squishy when he needs exposure. That's the only good part of the class, he has little weapon damage bonuses, low shields and pretty underpowered bow powers, oh and of course, low bow damage at that.

The Awakened collector is pretty decent in terms of base stats, but seekers are weak and their sphere has too long a recharge, leaving you exposed and vulnerable. Plus ascension just isn't worth it and it's buggy (even on host) and half the time doesn't show YOU it's turned on.

You don't need too much exposure to use the mines tactically, of course, the Talon's weaon tree is not a big thing, but the mines compensate all his weaknesses in my opinion.

Also, about Talon, sometimes when he go to an ammo box he can take another extra granade, also seems like if he refill granades from nowhere sometimes :S, on glacier sometimes i have taken 2 granades from the ammo box when they only give 1 to other characters.

Hell no, I've said it so many times, the only character in the whole history of this game that has made me ask for a nerf is the EDIbot.

I even think the GI and TGI are fine, problem for me is not damage output, is the lack of balance of that sexy robot.



Anyway, everything in this post is my opinion, now I would like to read BSN's opinion :D

only take points in Concussion arrows, none in AP arrows and that stopped the "no thermal clips" bug for me on PC anway, and I havne't ever remapped keys.

On Silver, I don't think you need the Power mod as nothing but bosses will survive a mine anyway

Doing gold, I'm tempted to respect for more damage less area on the mines, and be more careful about mine placement and stick to power mod
finally got lvl 1 pistol power mod today :P
hey 10% on like 1300+ damage can mean difference between a dead marauder or not

"Most poweful" character?  Yeah, the Juggernaut may be last on the list, if "most powerful" is purely judged based on DPS potential.  But I prefer to judge a class's quality based on how easy it is to use successfully.  And the vast majority of players don't define "success" as shaving a few minutes off of their average Platinum clear time - they define it as actually making it through a Gold/Platinum match, or doing so without burning all of their consumables.  Using that criteria, the Juggernaut is probably one of the best new characters, and the Talon is probably the worst.

Depends heavily on playstyle. My rankings:

1. EDIbot
- High single-target damage, a decent CC power if mooks get too close, fantastic survivability.

2. Cabal
- Biotic Focus is fantastic, and her Nightshade Blades do great damage. The DoT from Nightshade Blades and her melee also delays the time for enemy shield regen a little.

3. Collector
- Good AoE primer with no cooldown, good single-target primer that lasts for most of a wave, good move that grants DR and can work as a no-cooldown detonator after being set up. I run him with the CSMG (and warp ammo, of course), because I don't like the ramp-up required on the PPR. Might work better with the PPR.

4. Warlord
- Beast as hell, unambiguously the best melee fighter in the game, great health regen, and he can run away if he's overwhelmed.

5. Talon
- The trip mines are fantastic, but that's really all he has. You can use him as a cooldown-independent weapons platform (although the automatic grenade regen is nice if you run him with some light weapons), but he's squishy, and two of his moves are borderline useless.

6. Juggernaut
- I can't believe that anyone thinks he's OP. He can't make it to spawns before they disperse, he can't run away if he's overwhelmed, he can't take cover (constant 1.4x multiplier on damage), he's too big for most soft cover, can't access ammo boxes very quickly (reduces the number of weapons he can use reliably), and generally isn't good for much besides pizza carrying (he has a faster walk speed and pizza doesn't slow him down) and absorbing aggro.

Jugg + Adrenaline 3 + Incendiary Ammo + Stength Enhancer with a Piranha works wonders for me.
I've done pizza-deliveries and even get revive medals. 6/6/4/4/6 build.

I can't agree with it being in the last position.

I went Damage in rank 4 & Radius in rank 6, but I am unsure of what I want to do for a final spec.  Also, I use the Scorpion for times I make it to a spawn first.  That way, I can lock down the trash mobs while I let out some cain mines as well as get a little bonus damage from the pistol power mod.  The extra Radius helps a lot there, too.

And yes, I have played all the characters of this game and I give opinions based on my own experiences and experimentations.

If someone don't know how to play a character is not that the character is bad.

I used Scorpion couple of times and didn't do very well with my playstyle, so now I take Hurricane or supressor.
