I haven't opened Dragon Age in some time now because of this Load times issue. I'd probably be very disappointed if this patch fixed nothing.

If you really think about it, game developers would really like to see the PC for games die a death. It is becoming increasingly harder to actually get a game to run for a PC. In fact PC gaming is slowly becoming a "dead parrot". I have recently bought a PS3 due to the fact that I am so fed up with the PC game roundabout, that is owning a PC now takes all the fun out of gaming.
This PC version of Dragon Age has had major problems with loading faults etc, and has, up to now had no feedback from either Bioware or EA. No one knows if this issue will be fixed either before or after the "Awakening". - It is not just Dragon Age although DA has more than enough issues, more and more PC games are slowly becoming harder to get to play, a patch for this, a patch for that: do you have the right GFX card? do you have a top notch processor? do you have this? do you have that? it has become a minefield.
Is it any wonder that Bioware hasn't answered the questions, they just don't know, or can't be arsed with PC people. The PC as a Gaming medium is slowly becoming a nightmare for game devs and owners. Has the PC as a gaming platform, seen it's last sunrise? I personally think it has.
This however doesn't excuse Bioware for their non involvement in these forums.
Bull ****. People have been saying that PC gaming is dying since the dawn of men. Seriously.

monitor the memory usage at the task manager console and you can see the game still using memory above 1.3gb. compare it to mass effect 2, just use memory below 1gb.

You cannot directly compare the memory use of two different games which run on two totally different game engines. 1.3 GB of memory is not all that much for a game when you consider that most systems these days ship with 4 GB as standard.IbanSarawak wrote...
initially when you skip dialog option, your load time will increase. the patch doesn't eliminate the load time entirely but some improvement at certain area. looks like i need to do some test run again and see what other problem occur. i believe the developer have appropriate software to detect memory leak.

Ohh and remember one thing I said the long load times are BETTER and not that the problem is solved because the problem is still there.

So far all of my DLC is fine and Shale says "hi" to everyone. Within the first 2 hours everything still loads fast and the gameplay is smooth as silk (as it was before)...BUT...after the 2 hour mark is when the game goes downhill...and quicker this time around.
After the 2 hour mark I could see the increase in load times starting back up, as well as the lag also increasing...significantly (which I did not have before). After the 3 hour mark the game was unplayable due to the lag (the long loading times I could live with...barely...but the lag was horrid). I can run MMOs on full graphics and not have the amount of lag I was experiencing.
So, I went into the Video options and disabled everything or dropped it down to as far as it would go...and the game not only ran worse, it now looked worse due to everything being lowered.
I can literally..."literally"...play Borderlands for 4 days straight (18 hours a day) and never have a single hiccup ( yes, I have no life =p ).
So for me, I'll just play in small spurts for a couple of hours and turn the game off.
In a nutshell:
All of my DLC content is fine
First 2 hours the game runs flawlessly
After 2+ hours the load times increase as well as lag
After 3+ hours the load times increased further as well as a huge spike in lag
After 4 hours the game is unplayable due to further increasing load times and lag
