I also noticed something, for some reason when I was exiting a shop like Janar Armorers in Orzammar it takes a long time for the loading text to appear. After learning about the affinity fix for Mass Effect 2(I am using a Dual-Core Cpu) I tried disabling one core for the game and then enabling it again and now when I exit shops it loads very fast.It seems to me Dragon Age shares this bug with Mass Effect 2.I am not sure if it affects only the loading times when exiting shops or loading times in general though.Still it might be worth a try for those who are still having loading problems.

Hopefully, we will see those aspects working as expected, but it will probably take another month or two to figure where the problems are and then polishing code, so will those never come back again. But for now, we can play semi-enjoyable ( in my case ) game.

There's probably some poor guy chained to his desk in the basement working 24-7 by himself trying to work out a solution, while everyone else is pitching and working on DLC content..."and" DA2.

The bottom line should and would be about policy change, but the pool of crying, whining and complaining I put in this post is more than sufficient and - even in this form - can be awful and annoying for some. I hope you'll not find it a reason for yet another flame war, but as always constructive comments are always welcome.
Best regards, M4ksiu.
P.s. I do not find developers' job easy, but you must admit that communication between the community and Bioware is what mostly makes the situation so tense and incomprehensible.
Edit: I've encountered another issue that had never been seen by me before. It seems that now there's quite a chance to get stuck in location loading screen. I've already had 3 situations of that kind and I must admit I got disgusted as I do not save my progress very often ( 1 time per 20 minutes or something ) and these happened everytime when my progress was unsaved. This is getting worse and I feel out of my eagerness to do any further tests. Sorry.

i see this problem mostly in Windows 7 either 32 bit and 64 bit. after experience a problem with Win 7, i revert back to win XP.no more lag gameplay but long loading time time still there. due respect, Windows XP still the best OS platform for gaming, less resourse consume and the important thing is it compatibility with old and new hardware.
the developer likely using win XP as they main test run platform.
Still having the loading time issue on XP.

Of course, having to reboot the game every 4 hours instead of every 1 hour is much less annoying, so I'm mostly happy for now. A full fix would be nice, mind, but I'm willing to say thanks to BioWare for at least attempt a fix. Would be cool if they could keep giving us updates on the situation though, so people don't think they're constantly ignoring us.

Sorry for being so negatively set to the current situation, but I cannot understand how someone ( company ) can be so quiet when thunders pound his shelter and others throw dirt on so-called good name. On his place I'd feel obliged to stop this process in the best possible way.
Best regards, M4ksiu.

This topic deserve much more than a "flame war". How can a company release a product with that many problems, I spent my money in this game for what? Not getting a deserved response? Not being able to play? Honestly this game is a big FAIL and so is Bioware and EA.

You cant blame developers and of course publishers for the PC market, so much different hardware differentiations its impossible to check all of them.
I am sure Bioware wants everyone to enjoy DA:O without any problems, but pinpointing a problem like this is a needle in the haystack, so they have to gather the information from other people on hardware etc to see a common connection that they can then try to see if they can fix.
I get the bad loading times also, but on my other PC not a problem. Is it a GPU problem? Perhaps. Is it a SATA problem? Perhaps. Is it a page file issue? Perhaps. Is it a windows problem? Again perhaps. There is other possibilities.
So I can understand your frustrations but you have to realise even though you are a bit miffed, taking your anger out on Bioware and EA wont solve anything.

We cannot for lack of support ? I don't think so. We do not demand anything, but frank discussion. We get none and due to that we cannot say what Bioware intentions are. This problem is wide and common. Trust me, it could've not been missed during tests. Of course, variety of possible source of the problem is obviously making things harder to track, but that does not explain the silence and ignorance - just as we see it - that Bioware seems to be showing. Not to mention that the community's been more than helpful and provided anything that could be found useful to the developers, but yet again they've got no reponse. This is going toward management and company policy discussion and that's how our complains should be read. Developers' work's hard, but not undoable. They are professionals and did really great job on the game. But they missed glitches that take a lot time to get fixed. Nobody and nothing is perfect, but we cannot be lenient when we cannot be sure that something is gonna change the situation - and we're back on track to the wonderland of community-company dialog.DABhand wrote...

Wow, I can't believe I actually paid for this game, If i wanted to pay to watch a loading screen for 10+ minutes at a time, I'd have stayed with AOL as my ISP, well, that's what I get for being the idiot who wants to be a legitimate costumer, I also got boned by Ubisoft and their "always on" DRM, Most of the time I'm spending not being able to play because their retarded DRM server keeps crashing or clogging or whatever the hell is happening with that incompetent lot, It seems to be a new trend, making games that don't work.
Screw it, I'm turning to piracy, If the game is going to be unplayable, at least I know i'm not paying for bugs, You want me to pay for a game, Bioware? get your **** together, You want piracy to stop? PROTIP: you're doing it wrong, You stop piracy by Giving people a product they absolutely want to buy no matter what, you don't do it by giving them a half-assed product that makes them wish they bought a revolver to stick in their mouth and pull the trigger instead.
