Yayayaya i understand not all PC's are the same but come on now.
Wonder if there is anyway to get all my money back on this piece of crap. Its been a coaster since December now.
And to the people saying you cant blame EA they are just a distributor... think again. They have their own say so in the dead line of a game weather it is finished or not. So go ahead and blame away.
LAST GAME I will ever buy from EA/Bioware. I wish the old Bioware was still around... when quality was good.

AMD 3800 X2, 2 gb ram, ATI 3870x2, and Win7
no mods, just the DLCs that come with it.
And it's the same problems that others listed. Still not fixed with the 1.03 patch you get with Awakenings.

I wont buy any more games from this manufacturer. There are way too many bugs. Im not a computer expert who can fix every error that comes up. It really pisses me off too get an error message and then spend three days looking for a fix in some forum.
heres some of the major bugs:
lag:
I have to shut my comp down for an hour and then restart.
particularly bad in the ice dugeon.
other bugs==
anything to do with installing content=really really pisses me off. Took me like 3 days to fix wardens.
sticky bugs. I got stuck on a rock in korc woods area. Had to restart.
Bumping into players and objects is one of my biggest ****** offs. some of the areas are really narrow
Its totally unacceptable to release a game with so many errors and bugs. If you have 50 pages of errors its not good.

There is no reason my system should have this degradation over time.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Intel® Core i7 CPU 975 @ 3.33GHz
6GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator RAM
2 Nvidia GTX285 cards running SLI
Asus P6T Deluxe Version 2 MB
Soundblaster X-Fi
I mean my system runs a game like Battlefield Bad Company 2 over 100fps most of the time in DX10 why can't it handle a DX9 game for more than a hour or 2 without getting slowed down.
At least the game loads fast enough where its not a big deal to exit and reload your last save.

I just wonder, why people don't learn from the past. How many good game-studios must go down the drain, before this branche realizes, that there are standards of behaviour, which apply to ANY manufacturer?
Do they really think, that we, their customers, are nothing but a bunch of spoiled, pre-pubertal kids, not able to compare the service of - let's say - a car manufacturer, who sends us even birthday and X-mas greetings, with theirs?
I don't need greeting cards, really. All I need, is some feedback from time to time.
To be ignored is really the ultimate insult.

I think Bioware will be blacklisted by a lot of ppl. What is really pissing a lot of customers off is the silence... this damn silence is going to be their undoing. Big fail for Bioware/EA and I will never buy anything from them again.
This is why I haven't bough the Expansion. The problems with this game have been going on since release... It really is just a blame game now on whose fault it is rather then them trying to fix the problem. Like I said since the start, CTD, Long Load Times, 100% Processor Issues, DLC Content problems are NOT minor issues and should of been tested more "Thoroughly" Before release. Yet When I came to these forums NOT only did I not get any response for EA/ Bioware but, I get the fanboys telling me to stop complaining. Well, beacuse of the many factors above. I will not buy anymore Bioware Products. Pending Mass Effect 3 since ME2 seems to work on my Xbox 360 as of now.

I've added my DA:O character. The character that is with me from the beginning of add-on(women) has no name. Just something like "100_women_warden" over her head.
What's a problem can it be, and can anyone help me with it?

I just installed the add-on and the first big problem is - there are no dialogues for me. Characters just truying to interact but no voices, no subtitles or mimics appearing.

Do you have any mods installed? It may be interfering after 1.03 patch, you may want to check out if there are newer versions of your mods for 1.03.

I believe a mass boycott is in order? We don't have to just boycott Bioware - anything EA distributes or develops should be boycotted as well. Protest outside stores, tell the customers that these games have **** production values and are unfinished crapfests that'll only cause agony with their plethora of bugs and poor architecture. If anyone says something along the lines of 'at least the graphics are good' or 'I like football' then you punch them in the face. We have a right to demand maximum devotion to ethics from the developers and a right to shun the brainless consumers from the industry. Or at least we should. Surely a huge drop in sales will convince them to put some effort in their work next time?
You will never get a boycott going online, especially for a game where it works for most. At least with patch 1.02a for me. I will buy it if gamespot gives it a high enough rating
I am, however, not buying awakening due to 1.03
EDIT: Someone linked this thread in another post, didn't realize it was dead 15 days ago oh well....

Game is patched 1.03... no mods... tried every possible suggestion for solving this problem... running at max settings or very low doesn't matter... Come on Guys! Do something! I had no problem running ME2 on best settings but DA:O is eating my PC! For God's sake!!!!!!!!!!!
Eating your PC is an understatement, in fact it forces your PC off the roof because of its massive memory leak, yes Bioware there it goes again the massive memory leak you aren't acknowledging and is firmly dismissed by rabid DA fanboys like ... and ... , well you know the story already. Come on!

Here's what I did. I have patch 1.03 installed, .net framework 4 beta (not sure exactly which one), running win7 32bit, phenom X3 processor, all other data should be irrelevant since i tweaked my CPU... Hope this helps somebody since Bioware won't or can't... been playing for three hours, no lag or fps rate (highest settings), load times getting a little bit longer (max. 30 seconds)! Cheers!

This plus one other fix that I found somewhere did work very very well. It now works even better than it did before I upgraded to Windows 7, back when all i had was loading time increases that were not too horrible.
The other fix I found, sorry I can't remember where but I think I saw it mentioned on these forums, was to change the Local Security Policy called "Lock pages in memory". It is a security policy found in Administrative Tools that is disabled on all accounts by default. By enabling it and using the program found in your link, everything is good now............... Finally.

Thanx for the tip. I'll try! Well, since I managed to find a fix for this problem another one appeared... Now the game constantly crashes... probably due to the patch 1.03, since it did not crash earlier. I've been cursing the Circle of the Magi since the game crashed there about 7 times...

Odd... aside from the loading time taking a tad longer then usual after hours of gameplay, i don't have much issues... but then again Im runnin windows XP lol I saw one of you guys running Windows 7 ...yuck. I built my PC for gaming and there is no FPS drop, no issues looting corpes... my only gripe is the slowing down of loading with hours of gameplay. No big deal tho, u stop the game and restart it and that fixes the issue... not a solid fix, but it does it till they fix it. I read alot of complaints and EPIC FAIL and I wont buy anything from this company again but perhaps its ur system and not the game that has an over abundant list of bugs. How could it be the game when I rarely stumble into issues (and Im a beta tester, I know what to look for)... well anyhoo, to each is own i guess. I fo rone, love this game and been playing it none stop since i bought it..and I so cant wait for the DLC of Darkspawn hehe... Ima slice Allistairs head off wooo
Yeah, of course, it may be system related but my PC meets the recommended requirements. Aw, now come on, not to buy anything again from the cmp would be a little bit drastic, wouldn't it? This is the first game from Bioware that I had problems with, and I played everything from KOTOR over NWN to ME2, crash and bug free... And the OS, well, I would really like if somebody would start to make open-source versions of games like DA:O for linux but that is just wishful thinking on my part...

Forgot to add something, the game runs a little bit more stable now, it isn't crashing all the time. It still does crash but not that often.
BTW, I'm running absolutely no patch on the game, so I think the patch caused the constant crashing... cruel irony...
