I both liked and disliked the Shepard/Garrus content. I liked the dancing scene. It was, frankly, pretty funny--and the only time we'll ever see Shepard dance well.

Garrus seemed ridiculously proud to be Shepard's boyfriend. That was both cute and a little annoying--is it because he's happy to be in love, or because he thinks Shepard's some kind of trophy? I prefer to think it's just because she makes him ridiculously happy, buuuut...

My beef with it is that Garrus is mostly all about sex in this DLC. Where is that caring guy Shepard can confide in from the main ME3 game? All he's concerned with in the DLC is telling her she's hot and that he wants to have sex with her... Sex is not the same thing as love.

I thought Vega's presence in the dancing scene was out of place, at first. Then I realized, it was probably Vega who taught Garrus to dance. And they'd both be terribly embarrassed if Shepard sussed that out (picture Vega dancing tango with Garrus, you'll understand why...). I figured they'd set it up somehow, too, because, well, you never hear that kind of music until then at the casino. Maybe sort of as Vega's apology for flirting with Shepard all the time?

Seriously, when and where would Garrus have time to take ballroom dancing lessons, if not on board the Normandy? And why be so quick to yank her away from Vega (if you renegade interrupt and try to change partners) if he didn't believe Vega might actually take her up on that offer? This does, of course, beg the question of when and where Vega picked up ballroom dancing... he doesn't seem the type.

Yes! The dance with Garrus was hilarious/sweet.

Even though Tali's singing scene was extremly cheesy, I enjoyed every minute of it.

I'm pretty much crying right now being far away from my pc (and feeling green with envy to those who already bought/played the dlc).

Saw a Kaidanmancer squeeing somewhere here on this thread and that means I'll be downloading this content as soon as I'm able.

I have a small question here: since broshep gets a new suit, does femshep get a new one as well? Or is she doomed to wear that hideous black dress with silver chains on it (I MUCH prefer the one from Kasumi) X_x'

This contrast is something I appreciate about Tali's scene - it focuses on the latter instead of the former (I believe there's already three (four?) instances of the former). Garrus' content was entertaining, and for my FemShep who romanced him it's appropriate, but as you noted, it's not the same.

Yeah, I thought was well beyond the age for such nonsense. Job well done, BioWare.

I actually quite liked that. It always felt strange that they had just "kissing" scenes and sleeping together was vaguely implied, probably not to disturb some faint of heart people. Sex is a fun thing, and Shep and Garrus not being able to keep their hands off each other implies a healthy relationship.

Plus, there was plenty of other stuff - like Garrus booby trapping her apartment with Zaeed at the quiet party? Also, when he says he loves her...  hair. It's plenty obvious he wanted to say "love you", but just didn't have the guts yet, which was the awkward Garrus we all love, and it's a great nod to the end scene on the beam, when he is finally able to tell her so.

For second place, I call the Jack/Sheploo romance. From the epic exploding Atlas in the background while they were making out furiously to the emotional end after the tattoo... it was just amazing. I love Jack, she's awesome.

I did quiet-louder, so now I'm going to have to replay the party... Everyone complained it was too quiet.  I wonder if you get different dialogue for all three party variants in the second half?  (Quiet/loud, quiet/quiet, loud/loud)

Hm, I also did quiet-louder so may have to try an overall quiet party and see what happens.

You raise some interesting points but I think the relationship has always been somewhat focused on sex, that's kind of how the whole thing started with those talks in ME2. But of course it has evolved to be more than that and I think the boasting shows just how much more confidence Garrus has after the initial awkwardness, it's about the most outgoing you ever see him and that pride is hard to ignore. Things don't usually turn out well for him so of course he's happy and he wants everyone to know it (I only wish Shepard were doing it as well, maybe that's why it seems a bit strange because she's more reserved about her feelings?).

Anyway, the only annoying thing is that we don't get a proper sex scene, once again, after all that talk but perhaps that's suppose to suffice (telling, not showing). Besides the dance was really good and it was great to see Shepard learn something new from the person she loves most. If only we could see what might have been after the rubble scene..

Well, naturally, I first tried loud/louder/insanity first. xD Then I did quiet/quiet and it was pretty nice, too, even though it had a lack of Krogan headbutts.  So yeah, definitely try different variants out, they are totally different for the second/third parts. The first convos always seem to start the same, but change afterwards.

Miranda's romance content was so much win. I would've liked more, but I think at this point that's just me being greedy. Paragon Interrupt kiss and a night out on the town were plenty awesome.

Still haven't played Garrus's with my canonShep. I might hold out for finishing the trilogy and doing it at the very end, but I have no impulse control when it comes to Garrus. He makes me squee unapologetically.

I always play a male straight Shep, and I tend to almost always go with Liara (I do have one for Jack and Miranda though), and I loved it of course. But I also checked out the scenes you get if you romanced Thane, and I thought they were beautifully done. Kinda tempted to go with a fem shep just so I can get the scene at the end with the Normandy when you're about to leave. Excellent job Bioware

Yeah, you're right that it started with the sex talk, but apart from that (and it was quite an awkward scene indeed! xD) BW have shied away from it afterwards. Also, some of the boasting is "generic", I watched through other romances like Liara or even Steve and they all have some of the same lines about Shep - apparently, scoring with the Normandy Commander is a big deal. xD

I agree though that it's also part of the character growth for Garrus, and that's why I liked it so much. He was so terribly awkward at time in the second game (somehow more than in the first one), and it's good to see him trying to be suave and all. "I'm Garrus Vakarian. Codename: Archangel. All around Turian bad boy, and dispenser of justice in an unjust galaxy. Also, I kill Reapers on the side."xD But as the booby-trapping scene shows, he's still a paranoid cutie at times!

As for a sex scene, I think part of the reason why BW never show it is that they don't have a "naked" turian model in-game, but I may be wrong. We'll never know.

I've done both the Garrus/ FemShep and Kaidan/ FemShep romances. I definitely prefer Garrus's dancing to Kaidan's scene. I mentioned this before in a different thread, but Kaidan's was like the beginning of a porno. It kind of made me cringe with FemShep's cougar voice and that music lol

Really? Kaidan's scene reminded me of a newly wed couple. The cooking scene is just adorable.

Well, Ashley's scene has nothing to do with sex, and Kaidan's scene doesn't either if you choose to just snuggle on the couch instead. Since this DLC is about romance and fanservice. I'm not surprised that it is a focus. It's fanservice, and I'm a fan.

I was really happy with Liara's, although I wouldn't have minded something a little more upbeat. I like that Liara is a "serious" romance, but I also love Liara's goofy side, too. Still, it was respectful of the character and very sweet. Liara's song is Vigil, right? One of my favorite ME tracks EVAR.

It would be perfect if it wasn't FemShep's voice and her broken neck. Gosh, even asking Kaidan to just snuggle on that couch sounded weird. She turned this playful chat into one of those cringe-worthy fanfics involving kitchen equipment.

Well, we didn't got to dance or whatever fancy stuff, but we at least got steaks. We got to try being two normal people in the middle of the war.
