Something extra for a no-romance protagonist

I was hoping that DA3 would have a reward or a special scene for the characters who didn't romance anybody. Like for example in DA2, when Hawke has "that" incident with his mother no one comes to meet him. There are a few  instances but basically I hope there is something for players who don't romance a party member.

It always seems odd that certain moments tailored for protagonists in a romance turn out to be completely empty for a protagonist who isn't.

DA2: MoTA (iirc from a YT playthrough) rewarded such players with a kiss if you flirted with Tallis. Basically something of reward to that effect but hopefully it isn't like in this case, a kiss but more of a scene with npc's or an older party member talking about life/marriage etc etc.

TL;DR: I hope Bioware also rewards players who don't romance anyone with a bonus scene or a quest.

Speaking as a giant sap who romances people pretty much every time, I wholeheartedly agree. I have several friends who love BioWare games, but don't like the romances at all, and it would be nice to see some extra content for them. Admittedly, I'd have no idea what, so there might not even be a good way to implement it in-game, but it seems like a good idea on paper.

What? If Hawke isn't in a romance Aveline comes and comforts you.

What other piece of optional content gives other content if you decline it? I don't see how this is a very worthy pursuit. You can create strong friendship bonds instead I suppose, but wouldn't that be the same for everybody no matter if they have romances with other characters or not?

There was a thread similar to this one in the past. I believe even Gaider commented something on the issue (can't remember exactly what). There'll not be any sort of reward for players who decided against romancing other characters. I'm paraphrasing from what little I remember.

Yep, that's what happens, though having no one come would make things incedibly harsh.  But Hawke still has friends even if not romancing anyone.

Here is his comment from that thread.

sure this was discussed an a answer giving, something along the lines of no reward for doing optional content because thats all the romance is optional content and bioware aint gonnae give special cookies for someone who chooses to exclude themselfs from it.

Dont get me wrong id welcome more options to that optional content but cant see it tbh

I pass on the DA2 romances and I know that this is a re-hash of an old subject, but I have to ask. Why would you want this? Should you also get a different fetch quest if you choose not to deliver the goods, or a different character to talk to and another assignment if you ignore the people with exclamation marks floating above their heads? I'm honestly confused by the possible reasoning behind this.

Or perhaps I get it. If you don't want to use a sword, you can use a mace. Options. Is that it? Swords don't get more love than maces, options are treated equally. But then, what you're choosing is to fight unarmed so...

I don't get it.

Okay, but only if it involves a lot of booze, depression and a big hangover.

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of this (minus the depression)

Having a "lads" night (or girls night) out down the local could be fun ^_^

I don't really understand, you want optional content for not doing optional content? The only issue I can see having traction in regards to non-romances is having non-romantic relationships fleshed out as equally as romantic ones, though I think this is the case anyway. In Origins at least I remember having unique dialogues with Morrigan and Leliana when we became close enough. Can't remember Zevran and never didn't romance Alistair, and I'm STILL yet to play DA2 post-Act 1. I'll get to it eventually, I swear, once I get my hands on a TV, a console, and have my dirty way with Tomb Raider.

@KiddDaBeauty , Commander Kurt, krul2k & Avaflame:
To elaborate a bit further... what I wanted was something like what Persona 4 did. For those of you not familiar, in that game as well you can romance many ladies (only Male protagonist available, sorry ladies... try Persona 3 Portable tho!) but if you don't choose to do so then instead of a date with your chosen companion on Christmas, there is a  Christmas party you celebrate with only the male members of your party!

So basically what I meant was an extra "scene" you could say for the people who would not be engaging in the romance aspect. Just adding a bit to the camaraderie aspect of the party/group.

----------------------------------------------

@BeatoSama & ejoslin:
That sucks, I played the game on steam during launch so I guess it must have been an issue like the Merril Mirror out of order quest. Not even Varric could offer up a few words...

----------------------------------------------

@Misterpinky0, MichaelStuart, Jayne126 & Captain Crash:

Gather around brothers for birds of feather must flock together. We shall party like there is no tomorrow!!11! =]

@Darth Death, Sanunes & Emzamination:
Thanks for jogging our memories DD and thanks for the link Sanunes. Emza noooo, stop pouring salt on the wound!! David G y u no give us bro / sis party with team-members :(

If it meant that I could skip the Fade, I would gladly romance no one.

They already have stuff in place in DA2 to account for players who don't romance anyone.

What happens in ME2 if you do not romance anyone in that game or ME1? I know your chosen LI from ME1 will be on a picture on the desk (that has got to be one of the most depressing scenes ever), but I don't think I've seen what happens if you romance no one in either game.

Good idea, I didn't think about an achievement for staying single. I think there should be something given to the player if he remains alone, whether a scene or hell maybe a couple points added to your attribute of choice?

Question if you dont mind, I was actually fixen to start another playthrough for ME2. Is there a scene for that where the LI scene is supposed to happen, if you stay faithful?

nothing happens jimmy, you just dont get the scenes you would get if you romanced someone, thats why in the last topic about this i asked what the problem was if someone didnt romance anyone an in the scene that the ppl who do romance someone get instead one of there m8's an have a drink to relax before the final push so to speak, but like everything else it either got belittled an scorned with ppl jumping in with ohhh achievement for being a loner etc etc
