I think what this thread is mean't for is... WE LOVE ROMANCING CHARACTERS!!! However, if we decide to be that lone ranger let us ride off in the sunset with our dog following or let the camera fade into our eyes and flashback of those we could have romanced and let our protagonist ask... In trying not to hurt anyone else have I only hurt myself? Then if Renegade...NAH!!!!! If Paragon... Have a friend walk up behind him and say not a chance...
On another note: I thought ME Series really missed the potential of rewarding a player for staying true to the same woman throughout... A kid? A Suvenier from their last time together? A gift saying I know you have always loved me... Please take this... etc...
Something extra for a no-romance protagonist

A one night-stand with Javik... THAT was a reward, all right. Bless the person that recorded it on Youtube(me being a Garrus girl). And Samara. I love Samara(but, again, Garrus girl).
So, I think the best reward for not having a romance is... well... yeah, another romance. Or a one-night-stand with a clear conscience. Or just maybe this sense of relief when you plunge into battle for the final time(top of Fort Dragon, the Citadel) and know there's no one left behind whose heart will be broken. Which, um, basically amounts to nothing. But I'd have liked to have that one-night stand with Cullen/Orsino/(and Javik! This mage is about to rebel!) just the same.

We did have that scene in Mass Effect 2 where Shepard has no love interest, in place of a romance scene. That was a nice touch.

Maybe the PC can just be...alone, if they don't romance anyone? My Warden was in love with an oblivious Alistair, so he was still single at the end of the game (he wasn't compatible with Zevran). I wouldn't have liked it if the game had forced him into sex or a relationship with some random character just because he didn't end up with one of the LIs.
