I went up against Infiltrator Clone Shep on Insanity and it was a NIGHTMARE!

After my first reload, the guy just beelined to my position and meleed and bombed, Incinerated, killed me about 5 times while my initial spawn cooldown was still running. When I finally got him to attack Wrex, if I de-cloacked for more than 20 seconds, the same thing happened.

I finally just endlessly cloaked and sniped him from afar, rezzing Wrex to keep him off me. Anyone else have trouble with this fight?

Nice to see BW recant on their "video gamey" boss fight stance.

I really enjoyed battling the clone and look forward to trying this for all classes.

^I agree. I would say it was the best boss fight in the trilogy, put aside maybe Saren on the Citadel.

Wrex and Garrus don't think this fight was hard. Deadly Death team of death as i call them.

Same prob, OP. i hear its easier using a SR - but thats not usually how ive run my shep.

That said, ive never had so much fun getting my ass kicked.

The too video gamey statement was referring to the scapped Reaperized Illusive Man boss fight.

Still, fighting against the Vanguard clone on insanity was brutal.

Oh yes, good times... once I beat his ass.

Actually, now that I think about it, it felt like the first time I beat Saren (because I didn't have anyone with biotics with me that time).

Insanity vanguard was the best. Finally a challenging boss fight in ME3. But this fight still has nothing on the fighting simulator and getting the one and only achievement on insanity. You thought one clone hard:O

Give the boss credit... It finally puts you in the shoes of any poor bastard who tries to take Shepard on. You get to experience just how powerful and difficult Shepard is of an opponent to deal with. You don't really think about it because you're the main character and you're supposed to be really strong, but this DLC makes you come to realize it. You only stand a chance because you're an even stronger Shepard then the clone is. Imagine if you was some poor schmuck with little to no powers and just a crappy gun like most mooks are. You wouldn't stand a chance.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I went up against Engineer Clone. Basically 'oh****oh****oh****oh****oh****dodgeincinerationoh****oh****oh****runfromdrone'

Insanity clone is ****ing brutal, no joke.

I've only fought the clone as a Soldier and Sentinel so far and thought they were pretty easy (on Insanity), are the Infiltrator and Vanguard clones really that tough?

You have no Idea, with vanguard Shepard there is no time to rest and regenerate shields. The only way to get your shields back is if you charge at him first.

You have to figure, soldier only has ammo types and a slow time ability and sentinel only really has a super shield. Those are probably the 2 classes that would be easiest. Something like an engineer or a vanguard that have direct and powerful class powers will be much harder.

It also comes down to difficulty setting. The people saying they had lots of trouble were probably on insanity or hardcore. If you was on normal, it would be a lot easier.

So the Vanguard clone makes use of Charge (and presumably Nova) quite a bit, huh? Will definetly need to do a 3rd run of this DLC now.

Was still pretty chaotic with Soldier Shep though, I spent most of my time running from frags and getting knocked around by Carnages

Tell me about it...it took about 10 tries to final beat all three waves.  I was close to rage quiting when two clone Vanguards kept Nova/Charging me at the same time...

I wonder if this is what a competivie version of MP would be like?

I made sure I took out all the biotic using clones first, especially Vangaurd Shepard. He had the tendency of sneaking behind me when I wasn't paying attention. That was the worst <_<

Isn't that the point of playing on insanity?

That's what I initially thought, too. But the clone works... differently than other enemies.

I cannot put my finger on it, but the AI seems to behave unlike any other humanoid enemies in the game. Throughout the games, you get a certain feel for enemy "rythm", that can be reacted to. Mostly it comes down to a two opposing forces sitation, in hindsight of positioning. Some move more or less, but basically each group stays within "their" area.
The clone actually moves a lot, and is in general way more agile than other enemies - even the Phantoms have a very predictable movement pattern, as far as I experience it.

Holy cow I had the hardest time. I came in with a shotgun.

Infiltrator was cloaking everywhere. Took me like 100 deaths to beat it. Maybe 2-3 hours?

The rest of the game on insanity was not nearly as difficult.

I should have reloaded and took a sniper rifle and went for headshots. It would have been a lot more efficient.

It was definitely the difficulty of a final boss fight that I wanted for the game. Marauder Shields was almost there though.
