Living in the country, the best ISP consists of either Exede/WildBlue or Highes Gen4. Both are satellite ISP providers and are using satellites more than 20K miles away. As you might surmise, latency is a problem on the best of days.
I can be playing a game with a 1-2 second lag between what I'm seeing and what is actually happening; I can get 'stuck' in rooms, I can walk up to a downed player and be mashing my revive button with nothing happening for 2 seconds, and , oh yeah, I can get grabbed before I realize the Banshee I was zapping had gotten too close.
I can handle Bronze and Silver, especially with something sturdy like a Kroguard, but Gold is a stretch and on Plat I am one of those noobs cowering in the Rio-Box-of-Shame. Needless to say I play almost no Gold/Plat games.
My question is whether anyone with a satellite ISP has reached the zenith of ME3 MP, and has achieved top scores or completed the 25 Mass Effect challenges, or even solo run on Plat?
I know I can be a liability to the team, but Solo play does get boring after while. Don't hate me - no really,... it's not me, it's my connection.

I think its fine as long as you don't host. (On any difficulty). Your sat connection latency is similar to European hosts, bad news for US players.

I've played a fair number of games with a friend on satellite. Yes, he has done gold and platinum on my host (I'm one of the few people he can connect to).
What's really funny is when he outscores the 1-2 randoms that join...
PS: Try and and see how many AT-12 Raider shots you can pull off. My record is 5, my friend's is 8.

I should have added to my original post: "With this latency problem I do not host. It would be very poor etiquette to all the other players".

WOO!!! I always thought there was somebody else playing on a Sat connection, welcome to the extreme lag zone.
Ok then, well you can play gold and plat on your connection. (I have with Ecks up there hosting and some others). Glad to see that you don't punish the PuG's by hosting Public lobbys
Only advice i can give is try and go for Insta-cast powers (Overload, Reave etc) And try to avoid single shot weapons outside of solo's (lag makes some of the shots not count for anything sometimes) Stasis and overload are great powers to use to stop the enemy from rubber-banding around............other that that see what works and what doesn't and most importantly Have Fun!!
