You believe the relays could be rebuild so fast?

I can't see them getting operational in less than a few decades.

Reapers get destroyed yet everybody (including EDI + Geth) lives. Basically the kind of "best ending possible" I thought the game would surely have. Sadly it didn't.

I haven't really got a standard epilogue in my mind, other than that Shepard and her love interest get married and live happily ever after.

Long version: see signature for Salvation (incomplete; being rewritten at the moment)

Short version: Miranda and Shepard reunite, reform Cerberus into something good, get married and have a child.

The Geth are Machines, They work at a rate far faster than their Organic Contemporaries. Especially in large groups. They've also got the Reaper Code Fragments, so there's that.
Can you believe this is version 2 of this Epilogue? in Version 1 it took more than six months for the Normandy to get back to Earth (then again in Version 1, The Normandy Crash-Landed much further away) Also in Version 1, EDI was Dead, gone, Not coming back...
Version 1 was also written a week ago, so the Citadel DLC changed a few things in my Headcannon from what I'd wrote down.

Successful Refusal somehow with Earthborn (inb4 u wotm8)
Shepard comes back to Earth sees all the destruction and the high death toll because he didn't just ****ing stop and continued to fight just 'cause morals.

He starts walking through the war torn streets of D.C and see's these 3 Alliance troops watching the Alliance News and about Shep's decision.

The 3 Troops look at Shepard and say "You ****ing did" and 1 troop goes to Shep and pushes him along

Shep continues along and sees Washington Monument surrounded by dead civvies who are near a Alliance outpost. Shep then picks up a datapad next to a dead Alliance Troop and it reads

-Captain John Walker
-Date (3 days after london invasion)

(The Datapad reads about how the Captain hopes the London team is ready to arm the crucible and end this)

Shepard who starts to realize what he does then grabs a dead troops Carnifex

Walks up stairs of the destroyed White House then shoots self

Short version.
Ending choice: Synthesis.

During the process of destructive analysis which is part of the Synthesis, copies of Cyrus Shepard's thoughts and memories are caught by the Reapers. These reform into his full personality who then reveals himself to Miranda. She proceeds to build a new body for him using DNA samples and Synthesis nanites. She is also active in several scientific projects aimed at rebuilding and finding a new method for long-range star travel since the relays have been destroyed.

Years later, Miranda and Shepard find a new home on Aeia, which can now be settled because Synthesis gave people the ability to adapt to its ecosystem without detrimental effects. She's leader of a scientific think thank and an engineering firm, with some secret projects on the side. Shepard lives under an assumed name, an old alias from his days in Alliance Intelligence, and starts a new career as a historian and archaeologist specializing in the history of the Reapers while occasionally taking part in Miranda's less public operations. They live for a very long time. At some point, there will be children but I haven't thought about the details.

Post-Control:

Shepard rebuilds the relays, reunites with Tali. It's a little weird, but if Joker and EDI can make it work, what the hey. The next couple of years are spent doing fetch quests for the entire galaxy and purging undesirables. Many, many new synthetics are created in defiance of the Catalyst's fears.

When sufficient infrastructure finally becomes available, Shepard merges with the Geth Consensus. Within eleven minutes the resulting superbeing transcends the Singularity threshold and keeps going. Over the next several decades most organic and synthetic beings also ascend. Most of the galaxy's unclaimed stars are converted into computronium. Having completed most of its work, the new super mind leaves for the center of the universe, leaving behind only a few Reaper vessels to pick up willing members from the communities built by those who chose not to get in on the ascension.

Life is good, forever.

Meant to only write a few things...ended up with this long list. Sorry to take up so much space.

-When the Normandy failed to meet up at the rendezevous point with the fleet, the ship was presumed destroyed and the crew KIA.

-Hackett's first priority is to immediately begin rescue and recovery opperations of the damaged and scattered allied forces both in space, earth and the Citadel.

-Kahlee Sanders is tasked out to take control over groundside forces and restablish communications with the Alliance, Earth Resistance, and assist with leaders of other races.

-5th Fleet takes the lead in helping stranded ships

-The surviving council members cordinate with C-Sec and Alliance fleet vessels to begin emergency evacuations off the Citadel as it is deemed unsafe after the activation of the crucible.

-An order directly from Hackett is issued for the purpose of setting up a special search and rescue party for Admiral Anderson and Commander Shepard. The task force is comprised of Shepard's surviving former crewmates Grunt, Samara, Miranda, Kasumi, and Jack as acting leader along with her biotic squad.

-The crew of the Normandy crash land on an unknown planet, in an unknown system, with an unknown amount of damage to the ship. The crew suffers one casuality in the accident: EDI.

-The crew of the Normandy must begin surveying their situation. In an unanimous decision, the crew elects Garrus to take over command.  He orders the crew break down into compartmentalised teams. Engineers Donley, Daniels, Adams, and Tali take control of a four teams of regular crew members to begin repairs on four seperate sections of the Normandy. With the Kodiak damaged beyond repair Cortez, James, and Javik are tasked to begin scouting the immediate area for possible alternatives for shelter, food, and any possible aid that may reside on the planet. Kaidan and Liara being the only remaining biotics are assigned to setting up a dry dock for the Normandy and assist in the heavy lifting. Chakwas continues her duties as the ship's doctor, Traynor works on establishing communications off planet, and Joker is to oversee repairs to the cockpit of the Normandy.

-The task force assigned to rescuing or recovering Anderson and Shepard manage to locate the area of activity where Shepard and Anderson were last seen, and navigate through the dangerous terrain of the badly damaged Citadel.

-Anderson's body is recovered.

-Shepard is found alive in critical condition.

-Upon rescuing Shepard he is immediately evacuated to Earth's least destroyed medical facility. After serveral days of extensive surgeries Shepard is sent intensive care, with Dr. Chloe Michel supervising him. He is heavily sedated and unaware of his current situation.

-Within a week majority of communication around Earth and the Sol System is reestablished and opperations to begin repairs commence.

-Traynor intercepts a distorted transmission that leads the crew to believe that the Citadel was destroyed. Most of the crew assume Shepard is dead. Only Liara refuses to accept it.

-Udrnot Wrex and Urdnot Grunt provide assistance to the rebuilding of earth while transportation of the krogan people is carefully planned and prepared by the Alliance. The Quarian fleets begin preperations for the remaining races as they have the most remaining ships and are better prepared for longer treks through space.

-After aiding in the fight against the Reapers and rescuing Shepard, Miranda Lawson is offered a position in Alliance Intelligence and takes it.

-Samara helps gather the Asari soldiers stranded on earth regroup.

-Jack and her squad of biotics stay on recovery duty for heavily destroyed areas, using their biotics as tools to sift through the massive amounts of debris.

-Kasumi Goto disappears.

-A month after retaking earth, Shepard is finally taken out of his induced coma state and is made aware of the events leading up to then, including the supposed deaths of his Normandy crew.

-After several days of refusing to see anybody, Shepard finally accepts his first vistors: Wrex and Grunt. They manage to talk for awhile before the two krogan begin the long trip back home.

-Shepard begins rehab for his injuries.

-The crew of the Normandy unsuccessfully find any nearby help, and buckle down on repairing the ship. Despite the natural struggles and problems that occur, work is steadily flowing and morale is relatively high with the exception of Joker and Liara. Joker dealing with the loss of Edi, and Liara slowly slipping as she struggles to retain hope for Shepard's survival.

-Shepard completes rehab and is offered the position of human councilor. He denies.

-Shepard is offered a position in the Alliance admiralty. He denies.

-Shepard instead resigns his commision in the Alliance, is relieved of Spectre status, and decides to help reconstruction efforts as a civilian.

-Shepard begins to slip into a depression as the deaths of the Normandy crew, and the Geth at his own hands begins to take its toll on him.

-Jack reconnects with Shepard and sticks around for awhile helping him cope and come to terms with his actions.

-Jack is forced to go back to her duties and advises Shepard to leave London.

-Shepard spends half a year going from place to place trying to decompress and regain stability.

-The Normandy crew begins finalizing repairs to the Normandy and conducting test flights

-The Citadel quaratines the most heavily damaged areas of the station, but brings in construction crews for all the wards, while the military oversees replacing sections of the Citadel.

-Shepard joins a construction crew for the Citadel. His first job is repairing his own apartment given to him by Anderson.

-The Normandy crew finishes repairs to the Normandy. They hold an impromptu ceremony for Shepard. Liara holds out hope that Shepard may still be alive and refuses to put his name on the wall.

-Shepard finishes rebuilding his apartment.

-The Normandy leaves the planet and begins its journey home.

-A month after the Normandy's departure, they come into contact with the Quarian Fleet. The crew are made aware of the events after their crash and it is revealed that Shepard was alive during the time of their journey back to the home worlds.

-Tali and Garrus are offered a chance to go to Rannoch with the fleet, but decline, instead opting to bring the Normandy back to where she belongs.

-At approximately 1 am Citadel time, The SSV Normandy finds its way home.

-At 1: 47 am Citadel time Shepard is awaken to the sound of his piano downstairs playing the only tune Liara ever learned.

After two years of seperation, struggle, and uncertainty the crew of the Normandy and Shepard reunite and reconnect one last time before they all go their seperate ways to help various areas of the galaxy rebuild and grow strong once more.

Some of my headcanons for species as a whole and certain organizations (also, feel free to imagine these words read with the voice of the Codex narrator Image IPB):

CITADEL COUNCIL: Following the defeat of the reapers, records of the Council's numerous meetings with Commander Shepard are anonymously handed over to assorted news organizations and subsequently made public.  Many theorize that the records were originally made and distributed by agents of the Shadow Broker but no evidence is found to confirm it.  Due to to controversy and negative backlash by the general public regarding the Council's handling (or rather lack thereof) of the buildup to the Reaper War, Counselors Tevos, Valern, and Sparatus all subsequently resign in disgrace and live out the remainder of their years in obscurity. This, combined with scandals that would rock both the Asari and Salarian governments and the recent death of Counselor Udina galvanizes reforms within the Citadel government that not only leads to new counselors being elected for existing seats, but also an expansion of the number of Concil members and representation of other races.

ASARI REPUBLICS: With information provided by Alliance High Command, testimony by the Last Prothean, and a vicious campaign mounted by Matriarch Atheyta it is revealed to the galactic population that the Asari government had been hiding a Prothean Beacon on Thessia that would prove vital to the war effort. Due to the hypocrisy of Citadel law prohibiting hoarding Prothean technology originally instituted by the Asari, several high-ranking government officials are removed from office. The once-disgraced Matriarch Atheyta, the individual who spearheaded the campaign, becomes unofficially recognized as one of the new heads of the Republics and the new Citadel Counselor for the Asari.  While the war took a substantial toll on the asari military, economy, and even religious beliefs following revelations made by the Last Prothean, under the guidence of Matriarch Atheyta and other progressive leaders, the Asari are expected to eventually rebuild their civilization minus the amount of decadence and secrecy uncovered by the Reaper War.

SALARIAN UNION: While the Salarian Union was relatively unscathed by the war, due to the relatively low amount of support it provided, Dalatrass Linron and other high-ranking government officials have earned the distrust of both the general Salarian public and the galaxy as a whole.  In contrast, the support that the STG earned by supporting the war effort in defiance of their superior's orders earns them great esteem and many predict a rebalancing of power within the government.  It has become common knowledge that one of their own, Dr. Mordin Solus, was instrumental in curing the Genophage and gave his life to do so; and while many within the Salarian Union disapproved of his actions and many Krogan still carry a grudge against the Salarians for the creation of the Genophage they are significantly outnumbered by members of all species who approved of his actions and the contributions of the Krogan in the war.

TURIAN HIERARCHY: Being one of the civilizations hardest hit by the Reapers, the Turian's status as the most powerful military in the galaxy is questionable at best following the war.  With the empire, the homeworld and the government in shambles, it will take decades to rebuild.  Because of this, many are worried that the galaxy may be unprepared in the event of a repeat of Krogan Rebellions.  While tensions between the Turians and Krogan are not a thing of the past, the Krogan support provided on Palaven has resulted in friendlier relations between the two races similar to those between the Turians and Humans following the first contact war. Many predict that after rebuilding efforts are complete and due to growing relations between each other, the Turians along with the Krogan and Humans will become the de facto trinity of military power within the galaxy.  The exploits of Garrus Vakarian in the fight against the Reapers have made him a celebrity among the Turian people, and with the Hierarchy in a state of disarray many are calling for him to assume the role of Primarch.

KROGAN TRIBES: With the Genophage cured and them once more having helped turn the tide in a galactic conflict, morale among the Krogan people are the highest they have been in over a millenia. Though lingering hatred towards the Salarians and Turians remain, the role that a handful of Salarians played in curing the Genophage and the sense of camraderie forged in battle alongside the Turians have gone a long way in disappating those feelings of resentment.  Clan leaders Urdnot Wrex and Bakara have petitioned for returning some of their former territory, namely the more hostile worlds which have been approved by the Citadel Council on the condition that the Krogan handle any matters of colony defense, a matter simply untentable by the Council fleets following the war, which the Krogan are all too eager to agree to.  It is assumed that this was the desired outcome of Urdnot Bakara in collusion with a number of female tribes in a subtle exercise of newfound influence; while many males have elected to "retame old frontiers" the majority of females have largely elected to remain on Tuchanka to regulate growth, mediate tribal disputes, and oversee reconstruction efforts.  Due to lack of manpower following the war numerous military and police agencies across the galaxy including C-Sec have lifted official and unofficial bans on Krogan serving in their ranks. While many members of assorted species have grown weary of conflict following the war, Krogan are all too eager to have a chance to crack skulls where needed.  Urdnot Bakara subsequently was nominated for a seat on the new Citadel Council, though she choses to hold off assuming the mantle of Counselor as she is busy raising her first child, Mordin, who is widely believed to inherit control of Clan Urdnot when he comes of age.

VOL PROTECTORATE: While never renouned for their military prowess, the Volus enjoy great esteem following the war. Being among the first species to support the joint alliance to fight the Reapers and being instrumental in ongoing efforts to stabilize the galactic economy has earned them the respect of countless people.  While Irune was heavily hit by the Reapers, the Volus enjoy greater status on the Citadel then ever and others are generally very accomodating.  Ironically, while the Volus have earned a seat on the council, the most vocal supporter of it and person most likely to seek the office, Ambassador Din Korlak has quietly resigned.

BATARIAN HEGEMONY: The species hit hardest by the Reaper war; their population decimated, their government destroyed from the inside out, and their homeworld of Khar'Shan in ruins it will take decades if not centuries for the Batarian people to rebuild any semblance of their former civilization.  Realizing the pointlessness of further conflict, the Batarian people and the Alliance have reached an armistice and while tensions remain, both sides are less interested in the idea of conlict with the other than ever before.  And while old hatreds have not been forgotten, many have found a respect for the Batarians given their willingness to cooperate in the war despite their species literally being on its last legs. Governor Grothan Pazness, known for rallying his people and encouraging cooperation with the other species, has not only become the unofficial leader of his people but also their chief representative on the Citadel with plans to reopen the Batarian Ambassy. Batarian State Arms, the only remaining functional institution of the old regime following the Fall of Khar'Shan, remains active and while it does continue to supply goods to all sorts of undesirables in the Terminus Systems, the revenue it supplies to rebuilding efforts cannot be denied.

CERBERUS: With the Illusive Man dead and their main headquarters destroyed, Cerberus is a mere shadow of its former self with its several interests throughout the galaxy uncovered or destroyed and its numerous defectors effectively removing nearly all pretense of secrecy the organization had.  While some cells remain on the loose, the fact that Cerberus had made itself an enemy of not only the Alliance but also the Quarians, Krogan and citadel races make it highly unlikely the organization can ever rebuild into what it was before.  That said, ex-cerberus officials, namely those from the Lazarus and Phoenix cells who have been granted amnesty following the war have considered continuing their efforts to advance human interests outside official channels, though hopefully without the high body counts.

OMEGA: With the fall of Cerberus and the end of the Reaper War, Aria T'Lok is once more the uncontested ruler of Omega.  In the chaos following the war, countless refugees along with mercenaries, smugglers and other individuals of criminal inclination have sought refuge in the space station.  It is also common knowledge that the Blue Suns, Eclipse and Blood Pack mercenary groups, while maintaining a pretense of being independant military contractors, are actually under the asari crime boss' power.  Following the war all three mercenary groups are ostentably in the process of rebuilding and restructuring and it is believed that it is only a matter of time until they merge into a single organization of unprecedented power, and in effect grant T'Lok absolute control of the Terminus Systems.  While many sociologists, economists and political scientists fear the looming threat they see on the horizon, as it stands no government in the process of rebuilding is currently willing to take steps to counteract T'Lok's growing influence.

I could tell the whole headcanon but the truth is it's boring to read.
Long story short.

Katsumi records Shepherd dancing and sends it to the Reapers. A third ran away, another third had a meltdown, with the last third falling completely in love with Shepherd.

The end.

Femshep version (Garrus Romanced, all DLC)

Shepard picks control realizing it would be the one with the fewest casualties and least amount of damage to the galaxy.

Some time later Garrus is sitting in a bar on earth lost in a fit of sorrow of the loss of Shepard.  Joker and EDI find him and try everything to cheer him up to no avail.  After some back and forth Joker makes an off comment about if Cerberus had another clone of Shepard lying around she could just download her conciousness into that.  Upon hearing this Garrus raises his head eyes fully open, Joker sees this and curses to himself then tries to talk Garrus out of it.

Garrus then contacts Miranda to see if she still has access to any tech that could find or create a cloned body identical to Shepard's when she died, then contacts Tali and the Geth to get a hold of the virtual interface equipment they used during the mission on Rannoch and then Wrex to get unlisted transport to carry the gear.

On Mindoir they set up on a high mountain and wait for a Reaper to cross into the system.  The Geth initialize the Interface and Garrus enters into the Reapers colective Conciousness.  He's overwhelmed by the amount of information trying to make sense of it all until the data begins forming shapes more recogizable to him.  He then calls out for Shepard.

At first no response, just echoes of commands (based on Paragon or Renegade Shepard) however Garrus does start seeing familiar visions and words.  He then starts talking about how they first met, how they worked together to stop Soverign the Collectors and the Reapers, abuot how they fell in love and how much she meant to him and how he can't move on without her.

He then hears a faint voice  "Garrus?"

He responds,, telling the voice how she achieved the peace they fought so hard to achieve, but without her... it's meaningless, how she deserves to see it with her own eyes, how her friends want to see her again, how he wants to be with her again.

Then an image appears before him.... of Shepard... he stands there silent.... they then embrace and everything goes white.

He wakes in the Interface and looks around noticing everyone else knocked to the ground.  He checks Tali and Joker who state a bright light hit them knocking them out, they then notice a Reaper standing almost directly over them... just standing there.

Garrus then checks the box they brought the clone body in and sees it's empty quickly looking around Tali points to a figure at teh cliffs edge looking down at the valley.  Garrus runs up to it, she then slowly turns around eyes glowing blue slightly before fading to her normal eye colour.... a single tear then roles down her cheek.

"Garrus"

They hug.... while everyone else runs up to see.... the Reaper then slowly ascends into the heavens.

Joker then responds "But how? Are you still apart of? Are they?

Shepard responds "They are apart of me, and a part of me is with them.  I can feel them in the back of my mind, but I am the one in control,"

Joker  "So it's truly over?

"A smirk comes on Shepards face" Unless someone pisses me off........ ya" she grins and winks. Then returns to Garrus

They just look into each others eyes and together say "I Love you"  Shepard rests her head on Garrus' shoulder as the sun rises in the background.

Ya it's mushy but it does work within the confines of the lore.

Shepard, spurred on by the events at the citadel apartment, fast walks right past the starbrat before he has time to spout his logical fallacies and absolutist statements and proceeds to punch the orange tube to oblivion with his bare fists. Everyone then heads back to trash the flat again in a drunken stupor because one time wasn't enough.

I'll give it a shot. Destroy. Full Bioware canon: EDI and Geth dead.

COMMANDER SHEPARD: After the Crucible fired Shepard woke up. He had no idea how much time passed, but he was awake. He tried to figure out why, because the Catalyst said he would die. Then he heard what woke him up: Three familiar voices. Grunt, Victus, and Miranda. Shepard couldn't stand. He could even move. He felt partially dead. He realized this was because his cybernetics were offline. He managed to speak though, barely a whisper. But Grunt heard it. The Krogan started shouting and throwing rubble. They found him and Miranda was able to determine the cybernetics were offline and Grunt carried him off. Miranda knew what kept Shepard alive better than anyone alive. Her a a small group of medics managed to perform a sketchy surgery and managed to either reactivate or replace everything. It took time, but it worked. Shepard was alive. He joined the reconstruction, and after a few months, everything was more or less back to normal. The council asked him to replace Udina, but Shepard simply laughed and walked away. He handed the Normandy over to the Alliance to finish the damn retrofits and joined Miranda, Garrus, Tali, Kaidan, Jacob, Zaeed, Kasumi, Grunt, Jack, Chakwas, Ken, Gabby, Adams, Steve, and Samantha at a nice little bar in Rio. When Shepard was given back his ship, he denied, saying he was done for a while. Kaidan offered to only take it if Shepard promised he'd take it back when he got back into action. Shepard and Miri retired to Anderson's apartment where the live now.

KAIDAN ALENKO: When he took over the Normandy, he felt out of place. The Alliance crew was still mainly intact. Steve, Joker James, Ken, Gabby, Adams, and Samantha were all still aboard. Alenko lived up to his Spectre status, doing what he could for the council and the Alliance. A small sect of Batarians tried to start a land grab while the Terminus were still being rebuilt, but Kaidan's crew managed to put an end to it and personally handed the leader over to Balak, knowing exactly what would happen to the poor revolutionist. He still stops to look at the memorial every time he passes it. Knowing all to well that his name would be up there too, if it wasn't for Shepard.

GARRUS VAKARIAN: Upon returning to the hierarchy, Garrus was promptly promoted to general. He always carried the belief that he wasn't cut out for the job, but accepted it out of honor and duty, something he never thought he'd fall into. He helped rebuild Palavan and reunited with his family. He worked closely with Primarch Victus and turned the Turian military back into something to be proud of.

TALI'ZORAH vas NORMANDY SR2: She returned to Rannoch. He people slowly started to accept that they were home again. Tali. However missed the quiet hum of the Normandy's drive core. She realized that she more than anyone belonged on a ship. Seeing that she had no place as an Admiral after the war she stepped down. She was given a ship and served as it's captain, doing what the quarians needed off world, while the Admiralty Board began colonization. She never changed her name.

LIARA T'SONI: Liara and Javik did right that book. After it was finished Javik departed. Unsure of what to do with herself, she returned to Thessia. She had no base for the Broker, no reapers to help stop, and she had met a living prothean. She hoped that a Shadow Broker would not be needed for a few decades and decided to continue archaeology. She may have met Javik, but there was still a lot to learn about the precursors, and she still had about 900 years left to spend. She still kept Gyph around, just incase.

JAVIK, AVATAR of VENGEANCE: After righting the book with Liara, Javik realized he again had no purpose. He had come to respect the current cycle. However, he never felt welcome anywhere, except for one place. Kaye was a strange planet for Javik, but he was treated like a god. The Hanar did not feel disappointed as Liara had, and he felt almost content. However, after hearing that Liara was again visiting Prothean ruins, he decided to join her. He found that he was now also curious about his people's past, and Liara enjoyed the company.

URDNOT WREX: Bakara and Wrex settled nicely back on Tuchanka. Soon, the planet began to populate and the Krogan seemed happy. Wrex managed to settle the clans, and they all reveled in there new lives. Krogan culture shifted away from war slightly, but it still happened. Tuchanka was reborn. After Wrex and Bakara finally passed on, Grunt took charge, and enforced the new quasi-peace. Their new colonies would prove to be enough, or Grunt would personally kill the Krogan he felt too crowded to free up some space.

Think of more later....... Maybe........

after surviving the blast from the crucible Shepard awakens in intensive care, Liara asleep next to him on a chair. greeted by the scent of a coconut body lotion she used to almost literally dip herself into every night because of the otherwise rough quality of her skin by human standards.....it becomes a problem when a human/Asari couple sleeps in the nude as a habit. After watching her sleep for a few moments he touched her hand prompting her bright cerulean eyes to snap open and a soft gasp to escape her lips before she threw herself on him almost sobbing in a rare display of emotional vulnerability and abandon. Shepard's words to her a simple "I told you I was going to wake up next to you every day after that party my love", which coaxed a broken but heartfelt laughter to ripple forth from her lips before they sealed on his.

oh wait...you meant long term?

retirement, teaching job at the academy, possibly even Ascension Project at Grissom for Shepard, fame as a writer for Liara after publishing her book with Ja'vik. children....happiness

Shortly after the events of the Citadel DLC, Harbinger shows up at the apartment, challenging Shepard to a dance-off to decide the fate of the galaxy, a contest Shepard wins with ease. Harbinger and the Reapers are so embarrassed they all agree to go home, never to return.

Afterwards, Shepard has the Normandy tow his entire apartment block from the Citadel to Rannoch, retiring in style with Tali. The Crucible is reporpused as a giant novelty lawn ornament.

Canon ending: MEHEM.

Canon epilogue: After a heartfelt reunion, each character goes off to help rebuild. The VS is given command of the Normandy (gonna go do some spectre stuff aww yeeeaah) while Shepard finds a nice place to retire and raise adopted krogan babies. The aftermath is difficult, especially with half the Relays currently nonfunctional, but there is, at last, peace.

(Longer, more detailed version coming soon... maybe.)

My head canon: The whole trilogy was nothing more than a coma dream of a Category 6 Mercenary Shepard. She really leads a mercenary company of crooks, ex-military, and failed cops, including Jack (the same one from the game) and our good buddy Garrus. She finds and convinces Samantha Traynor to join the crew and she falls for her.

Alliance, led by her old C/O David Anderson, are hunting her for the attempted murder of Anderson.
