As much as I wanted Vega as a romance option for FemShep (they'd be perfect, two grunts in love), she was being waaaay too forward and pushy. Gave off a very creepy pre-rape vibe. I totally understand now why Vega shot down FemShep, at least that time.

No I get that, it was the whole "Not being Shepard" thing. In Paragon Lost it is clear that he idolizes Shepard and in ME3 when he finds out the sacrifice he made was worthless because of Shepard he feels contempt for her. IS it because of that maybe?

Yes, but in context with Vega's previous comments it makes sense for Shepard to initiate the sexual innuendo.  Vega makes insinuations to Shepard's form being a distraction on the battlefield, suggestions of her getting a tattoo where only he can see it, etc.  When she turns the tables he not only stumbles and stammers (which is adorable and completely fine) but he actually acts affronted in a way.  Jeezus fcuk, make up your mind, man.  The post-sex dialogue was beyond skeevy - and I'm putting the shame on Vega, it was like another Jacob turn-around as if FemShep needed another one of those.

Date rape! Seriously I was so disappointed, everything that lead up to that point was great, then the party and the pushy Shepard happened... I wanted an option to hug him and say "you don't have to do this if you don't want to". Look I love Vega and I understand why they didnt make it more than a fling but what the heck man I dind't want to force him into it.

I actually think this could have been an awesome dialogue to have with him - even if it permablocked him as a LI, it would make his attitude understandable.  Sad even, in a way.

As it is, he flirts like a horndog but then backs off when the pan is set on the fire (I'm sure that's a metaphor somewhere).  The "But you're Shepard!" excuse just smacks of cheapness, writing-wise, like Jacob's dumb "But the Normandy is your twu wuv!".

Not that I would know though, since I have not played it yet.
And when I do, I'll make sure not to rape Vega.

I THINK I get what the entire scene was SUPPOSED to be; Shepard gettin' Vega back for all the shameless flirting and teasing he did throughout the game previous...

... but HOLY HELL does the "payback" come on strong. This is like taking a minigun to the bird's nest of the pigeon who crapped on the hood of your car. Firing an RPG (the weapon sort) at the neighbor's house after his dog got onto your lawn.

If FemShep was trying to make a point here, the point was lost because it came in the form of a railgun through the chest.
