Shep prolly hadn't gotten laid for a few months, I don't blame her for having the horn.

They had casual no strings attached sex. It occasionally happens in the real world. Why not the Mass Effect universe as well?

I also don't think it reflects poorly on Fem Shep, as I'm not a big fan of double standards. Being sexually aggressive or having casual sex doesn't make Fem Shep a wh0re. If men can do it, why can't women?

I thought it worked well in the context. When Vega first turned her down, you could see how he was kind of kicking himself for doing so. They're both grown up, they had a casual fling, even Cortez commented about it. Why would Vega confide to him that "things were heating up" between him and Shepard if he felt forced to sleep with her? Sigh.

Getting someone drunk and then pressuring them into sex, especially when they've already given you a clear "do not want," is wrong. Full stop. Period. As someone who would've liked a Vegamance, this is the worst way to implement it.  I haven't seen through/played this content, however, so I'm not 100% sure of the implications.

Coyote Ugly Javik, though? Less morally dubious and also hilarious.

Vega may well have regretted saying no to Shepard, but he still said no. Shepard's response was to persist despite this, and to get him drunk. That is problematic, to say the least.

I think the one time MaleShep had been forward in ME3 was with Traynor and he got shot down immediately.

So very dissapointing :( I mean would it really have been too hard to add a couple of new lines and a flash back at the end????????  At least then we wouldn't have our fantasies crushed with the date rape feel they gave us Image IPB

At least how I interpreted it, Vega's non-stop flirting with Shepard was a defense mechanism rather than an indication of actual romantic or sexual interest. When (if) Shepard calls him on it, at least up until the party it settles down into warm, but platonic, banter. At that point, it either should have gone no further or Vega should have at least got a "it's the end of the world, so why the hell not?" line to clear it up, especially in light of the "aftermath" scene which could have then been played for great laughs about somebody's "performance" (cause if she can't dance she's rubbish in bed...sorry, couldn't help myself).

I always thought he was just one of those goodhearted yet unintentionally sexist guys who hits on women because he likes people to feel good about themselves.

Still tho, if the scene really is how you described it...  Wow.  Not cool.  Bad Shepard, go back to house arrest.

Here, see for yourself. Make sure to check out "parts" 2 and 3. The aftermath just gets...bad. Makes you wonder if they had "money's on the dresser, get the **** out when you're done making my eggs" written in there and Jennifer Hale refused to read it.

No joke...... Vega resits because he's ******. Not kidding. All the flirting with Cortez proves this. Those two should just bang and get it over with.

When I saw people complaining about this elsewhere I thought they were probably just being over sensitive, but after watching I was creeped out! I wanted a Vega romance since he was announced but this is so skeevy! I get that they didn't want to make him a full blown love interest but there are nicer ways to portray a one time roll in the hay. I'm so glad I didn't wait and play through this on my own Shep.

Could we not treat rape like a joke, please?

I couldn't agree more if I wanted to.

Rape culture is getting really old, really fast. It's not a barrel of laughs for rape victims who happen to read this crap. How you people can lack empathy enough to just trivialise rape to begin with is beyond me. It's a heinous act and not at all a bloody joke.

Geez... are you people trying to make my brain classify BSN as almost exclusively a hangout for sociopaths?

Stop it.

Just stop.

Okay, yeah, that video is making me really uncomfortable. Boundaries, Shepard, boundaries.

Imagine if the genders were reversed; we would be hearing no end of screaming about sexual harassment (and rightly so). It doesn't suddenly become "hot" when the perpetrator is female and the subject is male.

Vega is reluctant because of the regulations against fraternization in the military. That might sound minor, but it is actually considered a legal offense in militaries, and you can lose rank and pay over it and be transferred to another command. Officers can end up administratively seperated. (losing their officer's commission)

It isn't for any lack of interest in Fem Shep, as Vega's non-stop flirting and his conversation with Vega at the party indicates.

Except...he sleeps with Ashley under specific game conditions. It really doesn't matter what his reasons were; he said "no," and that should be sufficient. The fact of the matter is, this whole sequence is horrifying (and that scene with Shepard asking if he's "had enough to drink yet" reads as straight up predatory). He says no whilst sober, expresses his discomfort...and then Shepard decides to sleep with him once he gets drunk enough.

That is some straight up date-rape garbage, and I'm surprised (not really) that there isn't more vitriol directed at it. There is no way in hell that would have passed the smell test if it were male Shepard and a woman companion (or even a male one, for that matter). The fact that this is being justified with, "But I bet he really wanted it doe" is pretty alarming.

It doesn't matter if he was genuienly interested in Shepard or not. He says "no" and Shepard ignores it and keeps persisting and pressuring him. That is not okay.

Considering the regulatory hellhole the Normandy becomes by the end of ME3 that would give a JAG officer an aneurysm by merely asking permission to come aboard, I think fraternization at that point would be the least of Shepard's worries as s/he wouldn't just get the book thrown at him/her -- it'd be the whole ****ing library.

That said, Vega makes it pretty clear it's not femshep's rank that stays what interest he may -- or may not -- have, it's her status as an individual and an officer especially relative to his own service record.

Okay, part one wasn't bad.  She-Wolf Shepard strikes again, and making James blush is funny.  But still, he makes it clear that he's not interested, and the way the scene ends, it looks like he and Shep have reached an understanding.

Part two: Not bad, and I lol'd at Vega's reaction when you support him over Liara.  Seems mostly playful, and Cortez's input is cute.  No danger signs so far; Vega still just seems shy because, you know, Commander Mother****g Shepard.

Part three: He's clearly drunk.  Shepard's auto-accept when you only pressed "talk" is not cool from a roleplaying perspective (ENOUGH with the ninjamances already srsly) OR a moral one.  The morning after seems mostly okay until you notice James' hesitation.  This isn't something he wanted to happen, and he's humiliated that things went that far.  And Shepard doesn't seem to really care.  That should've been a conversation right there; she should have been able to ask if he really was okay and apologize when she noticed he wasn't comfortable.

So one you flirt with him, you aren't even given the OPTION to treat him with respect and let him set his own boundaries.  By being interested in Vega, you are basically forced into forcing him to bone you.

GROSS GROSS GROSS GROSS NOT OKAY BIOWARE NOT OKAY

Damn you, auto-dialogue!  Damn you to hell!

QUICK EDIT: I only watched the parts linked in the longer videos.  I may have missed something REALLY creepy.
