Who honestly feels that the ending just gets worse overtime.

It's pure garbage and frankly doesn't even deserve the time people have taken to criticize it...it's just crap.

The main thing that annoys me about the ending is the fact that I can't fathom how the ME series will move forward without altering it.
It'll be fun seeing how they manage it...or not as the case may be.

it wont move foward ...
the next game is going to takeplace during the first contact war (the dlc is full of references). the franchise will go sideways or backwards.

I was not really ok with the endings, even after the EC, I still missed to see more than just a breath scene, need to see My shepard alive & kicking.
Citadel DLC should have been a post ending DLC, taking place after the reaper war, that would have benn the perfect conclusion to the serie.
Citadel was so much fun, laught, smiles, cries, love ... The perfect conclusion. When I finished the DLC, got new romance, new moments with friends, a party & a final picture I was so waiting for the credits & then realise, no, ths is not the end, you still have to make Shepard & your team suffer an stay with an uncertain & unknow conclusion.
I'm not sure if I'll ever again be able to see the ending of the game now. That's sad, because the ending is the only think I didn't like in the whole serie. I like play & replay the 3 games. I feel so bad evrytime io think about the conclusion & Citadel really don't help for this point.
That's really sad that Bioware have not listen to fan for this specific point. Have to deal with it, so far i didn't find how.
Mass Effect was so close to perfect...

But didn't the first contact war have like 200 participants...total and lasted like a week?

This new world with amazing and lovable characters, playing as the great Commander Shepard to save the galaxy. The story was intriguing and it was hard to put the controller down until the game was done but even then, there were still so many options to explore so I had multiple playthroughs going with FemShep and BroShep.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on Mass Effect 3.
I heard people talk about how bad the ending was but I didn't believe it.
Then I finally finished it. After that I lost my desire to play any of them all together, mainly stuck around on multiplayer. I still love the series, but it's just not the same.
I think the Citadel DLC should've been like the after party for the crew after saving the galaxy, having closure. Knowing you'll be reunited with them again would've been a bit easier to take and I'll probably quit after that DLC if I ever decide to replay them because the ending is still too painful to watch.
Just my opinion..

yep .. the archive was full of stuff regarding the first contact war .. i could be wrong off course ...
but a sequel is not possible without writing aroung the endings.

Hrmm seems a pretty low brow "war" to base a game around imo.
From the Mass Effect Wiki -
"In the end, only six hundred and twenty-three human lives were lost with
slightly more turian casualties. The only notable engagements were the
turian attack on Shanxi and its subsequent liberation by human forces."

It works better with the EC.
Now that the Citadel essentially validates destroy? The end could have been managed better, but it is now decidedly not the abomination it was initially.

Not sure the Citadel validates any ending choice as I still feel the ending choices should be based upon the type of person the shepard is that you're playing, otherwise I agree the endings while I even liked the original ones work much better and make much more sense with the EC.

After the Citadel DLC my hatred of it is even greater, didn't think that was possible.
Which is exactly why I'm warry of picking up the latest add-on and re-playing ME3. Even if its the best DLC ever, the ending completely p*sses on the lore and characters, along with what made the ME series great from the very onstart.

One or two years ago I was recommending this franchise and other Bioware games like KotOR or Dragon Age (beside other games and companies, of course) to my friends; Bioware was a company I trusted, it made games I liked and their quality was pretty good, so I wanted other people to buy and play them; I wanted to show them there're games with story, characters, good writting, not just generic CoD's or Battlefields or FIFA's or Wii Sports. I wanted to show my friends games that are worth the money. And right now I can't recommend them to anyone. I'm not saying ME3 is a bad game; just... it's just a pew-pew game where good writting is no longer important. Even in Rannoch and Tuchanka missions (the best written ones) there are too many incoherences like Legion wanting to evolve in Reapers terms (uh... in ME2 it was the opposite) or a Thresher Maw killing a Reaper (awesome, maybe, and still pretty ridiculous). Then DLC's came and they only helped me to be absolutely sure Bioware can't get their sh*t together. Shepard and Javik? Lol, really? What is this, Fanfiction? Really, I've seen more good writting in a Transformer movie than what I saw in most ME3, and those movies are awful to say the least.
So... are Bioware games good? I think they are, they are made by a lot of talented people after all. Are Bioware games a good example of good writting and how to make a video game? No, not anymore. And they won't. In other words, it isn't worth the money anymore.
After so many years playing ME and ME2 so many times, so many playthroughs, now I don't care anymore for Mass Effect or any Bioware game. A year ago I would have bought every Bioware game (collectors edition, if possible) because I knew I would enjoy them. And now, as I said, I can't. At first it annoyed me, it disappointed me, now it's just indifference. I've moved on, yay!
