There is a part in the Citadel DLC when you are in the archives and you see some footage of C-Sec security gunning down all AI's on the Citadel and I felt like puking. Stop trying to shove your nonsensical Organic v. Synthetic theme down my throat BioWare, just stop, it doesnt work and will never work for Mass Effect.
Thank you. I'm so tired of this "A.I.'s are all inherently evil!" theme being pushed. I get that the organics are distrustful, but so many AI's are just children that are lost, not Skynet looking to eradicate all life. I never thought the organic vs ai theme even belonged in the Mass Effect universe back in ME1. Really? This is a "hate all machines" kinda place?
That's the idea. It isn't supposed to be a place where machines are hated. That's the cycle that needs to be broken. The assumption that organics and synthetics cannot coexist is the root of all of the problems in the universe. Characters like EDI and Legion are the signs that this hatred can be broken.
STOP, stop trying to find some reason behind the ending, it doesnt work. Accepting that argument basically destroy's the Reapers, which is what the ending does. What were awe-inspriing, terrible, incomprehensible, terrifying Cthulu like beings, whose understanding and intellect far outmatched our own, have been reduced to nothing more than a programming glitch.
So much for the whole "We are each a nation, independent, free of all weakness".

Different strokes. The Crucible made the Reapers realize they didn't know everything, so it makes perfect sense to me.

The endings are just so bad.
Presentation = terrible
Execution = terrible
Outcomes = flawed with forced sadness
Lack of control over Shepard = Lack of control over Shepard.
The theme is bad too.
Why the endings are bad from a narrative perspective: http://awtr.wikidot....s-is-not-a-pipe
Why Synthesis in particular is bad: http://social.biowar...9404/4#16076107

I'm not sure if it gets worse overtime, because i'm not going to play that crap ever. And i'm sure, that nonsense will not get better.

I still hate the starkid and thing the logic for synthesis is stupid. But overall I can say the ending hasn't ruined the ME3 experience for me anymore - Willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt in the future. And from a practical standpoint I don't think they can give us more than the EC (which they did not have to do).

One thing is certain, I don't mind not having a happy ending. Bittersweet is the way to go, and I'm quite content with Shepard not living through it (indeed, I was surprised how many people expected him to survive in the first place).
EC did help mind you, I like the extended starchild dialogue and the long epilogue.
As for Citadel, I agree that it was the team's swan song for the trilogy, and it was wonderfully done. The ending in particular was excellent. After all the excitement and fun of the DLC, it ends on an introspective note, and I loved that. Citadel was hands down the best DLC I've ever gotten for any game.

My solution is just stop playing after the DLC.Gabbenator8787 wrote...

After the Citadel DLC my hatred of it is even greater, didn't think that was possible.
Which is exactly why I'm warry of picking up the latest add-on and re-playing ME3. Even if its the best DLC ever, the ending completely p*sses on the lore and characters, along with what made the ME series great from the very onstart.

Yeah, I also struggle with the emptiness that the ending has left. Forum venting helps, but it also might help to write out your own version of the ending. For myself, I have how I would have ended it outlined, dialogue and everything, and I've committed myself to *that* version as Shepard's story. It's not hard to do, really, given that the current ending is just horrendously nonsensical and out of place for the MEU and for Sheprd's story.

The more you think about it the worse it becomes you start to see gaping flaws in the narrative of the trilogy, and now with the Citadel DLC, well I'll just say it shines a light on how badly written the ending was. All I feel is disappointment when I think back on ME3.
This is pretty similar to how I feel. The more I think about the ending, especially in light of things like the Citadel DLC, it continues to baffle me how Bioware ever thought the ending was good enough. It's the biggest indicator that Bioware really didn't have any idea where the story of ME was going, so went with the worst conclusion possible.
When I look back on ME3, it's less with anger and more regret. Why did I waste my time with this series, knowing what it all builds up to? My issues with the game stretch beyond the ending, but overall the game makes me feel that I should never have spent so much time and invested so much into this franchise. If I could go back in time to the point where I was first about to purchase the games, I'd tell my past self to save his money, spare him from the disappointment.
