Anyone else having issues with EXTREMELY long load times? I'm literally waiting 5 to as long as 8 minutes to load new areas. Anyone else have these issues?
Running dual nvidia 8800 gts
phenom 9600 BE 2.3ghz quadcore
4gb ram
Win7 x64
It's rather annoying.

hrm you have better specs than me but yeah I still have some pretty long load times, not THAT long, but like 2-3 minutes in some areas.

eh my spec is like WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY worse. I have like 10sec loading top so far. Only 3GB Ram, but I'm running on XP

That is odd. My loadtimes are virtually non-existent, Though i have overclocked my quad core a bit ,the hard drive is what really makes a difference.

With my Phenom II X4 940BE I am experiencing, for the most part, very quick and smooth loading - occasionally a map will take a minute or so to load, but it's not the norm. 5+ minutes seems a bit insane.

yeah, loadtimes are so short, I usually can't even read whatever little info is put on the upper part of the screen.
I'm using win7 64 bit.

here is what I am running, I get maybe 30 seconds, 1 min at the longest.
AMD Dual core 2.1
XFX 4870 1 gig
8 gigs of 800hz ram
Vista 64 bit.
600W PSU
1 Dvd/reader burner
I can run the games settings on high mostly, with no problem.

I wonder how well Windows 7 is supported by this game. Seems like alot of Win 7 users are complaining and with your specs it shouldn't be like that. I'll wait and see what happens with myself when I get my hands on it. Have Vista 64 and hopefully won't run in to problems.

I spend about a minute at each load screen, +/- 30 seconds. I've got about a year old laptop I'm running it on however.

Loads pretty quick for me, although that probably has something to do with the fact that I have it loaded on an SSD

Windows 7 64 bit is working beautifull for me. Haven't encountered a single technical glitch yet, so it's not OS wide, probably more likely due to maybe not as good drivers for new OS on some hardware.
Oh and loading time is not at that bad, but I have a 10,000 RPM drive so that might help. Wish I had SSD...

well ****. Need to figure out what the heck is going on. Maybe I needed a reboot or something, cause the game pretty much runs like crap too as far as performance, lots of skips and chunky fps at times. *sigh* anyone got any ideas?

vista 64bit ultimate (Q6600, 4GB, GTX280), loading time most up to 30 sec no more, mainly only few seconds.

The initial load time is longer. When in the game, level loading is not bad at all. I expected much worse.
Regardless... it's worth the wait.

Windows 7 Prof - 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Quad @2.83GHz
8.00GB Ram
2x GeForce GTX280 1GB cards (SLI)
My load times are about 30 seconds or so.
I was having ridiculously long load times, but (oddly) a vidcard driver update fixed it.
Everything is running on maxed settings with only two problems. Convos "hang" occasionally like a skipping CD, and the mask applied during convos to blur the background but not the characters actually extends past the characters a bit (especially around their hair), resulting in a rather disconcerting appearance. Neither of these appear to be a Win7 problem, but something in-game.

cool, thanks fellas. It may be a vid card driver issue. I'll see if they got some newer drivers out over at nvidia when I get home.

OP didn't describe his hard drive performance, but assuming it matches the rest of his computer...
4GB RAM on a 64-bit machine is not as much as you think. Make sure that you aren't running a ton of other applications at the same time - exit Messenger, close web browsers, email, etc. Try disabling your antivirus. Once you see how well the game functions with everything else closed, including all those hidden "system tray" applications, you'll know if you have computer problems.
As another poster mentioned, try some updated video (and sound) drivers too.

Load times are quick for me, 10 seconds or less probably. Run a disk cleanup/defrag the next time you'll be away from your machine for awhile, it could help.

Running Vista 64, 4GB RAM, 8800GTX. Load times are brutal. Running latest NVidia beta drivers (came out several days ago).
Oh and FPS is choppy sometimes. Althought I can run other latest games very smooth and with no problems.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit at home. Slightly higher specs but not using SLI with DA:O, but max load time has been 15 seconds, though during that time, Windows gets concerned the the program froze. (It doesn't pop up anything, but the (not responding) tag appears behind the title in the window, but goes away before the last few seconds.
Oh yeah. I'm runing in a window at 1440x900 max settings but no AA and not full-screen (which is 1680x1050). Gots ta chat, ya dig?
I hear that SLI can adversely impact all kinds of things like loading textures depending on the program. If you're using SLI, try it without. nVidia will likely release an update later on to help with that if it is indeed an issue of loading data into SLI.

I have Windows 7 x64 and loading times are pretty much non-existent. Now, I do have an i7 920, 12GB of DDR3 and an SSD for my OS. The game is installed on a seperate RAID 0 array so this may have a lot to do with it. I was actually very surprised at the lack of load times.

Windows 7 64bit Enterprise. E6600 C2D, 4Gigs RAM, GTX260. Load times are short and sweet. Longest I've had to wait was ~30 seconds and it was because it was loading a video.
