The game increases loading times the more you play. This certainly is NOT a hardware fault but a serious issue of memory leak.
And also, because i play Awakenings for3rd time, i can assure you that some times the game delays when a dialog option appears or when searching for items.
What is strange is that this issue is NOT happening in ME2 which uses the same engine more or less... The issue is still there with patch 1.03 though...

I completed a whole playthrough with all my load times being at LEAST 8 min.-14 min It took over a month for me to finish... That is a bit rediculous.

It's a shame... I waited so long for a new patch, and when it now that it's released... is the same damn slow sh*t.
No fix, no workaround for months.

Ran this game for over a year with only a slight problem (which I'll note below). I was using an old X1900 ATI video card, and I was using XP for it's reliability. I just finally moved to Windows 7 - changed NO hardware. AMD has moved the X1900 to legacy status, and won't support it under Windows 7 - and I am met with the 2-5 minute load times as a result. To me this issue appears to be entirely a driver issue with AMD products.
The only delays I noted on my XP setup was due to having too many saved games. If a person moves/deletes these saved games, the load times returned to normal again. The saved games are stored on the OS's drive (usually C:) regardless of where you install the game to, something like: C:\\Users\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age on Vista/7 and c:\\Documents And Settings\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age on XP.
Hope this helps a few of you.

That's not it. I only have 5 savegames and the game has become damn slow after a few hours of playing. I'll try restarting it, but I still think there is an unfixed code problem in the game and that for over a year now I still experience. This sucks. Seriously. Do something Bioware!

It was admitted some time ago to be an issue with a memory leak, they dont seem to have been able to track it down and fix it properly as of yet.

Wait what? Didn't ME franchise run on unreal3 engine? Regardless, the funny thing is I distinctly remember the game running much better back during 1.01, 1.02, it's only when i reinstalled recently under 1.04 did I see massive amount of slow down.

I'm glad to see a year later that the loading time/memory leak is still here and unresolved. Trying to play through again to get a few different saved games to import into DA2, and I'm honestly finding it difficult to stay motivated when I have to restart the game every hour or two to "fix" the memory leak so the load times return to a matter of 3-5 seconds, rather than 30s-2 minutes.
