If I join a Silver pug to level up a character between level 1 and 5 I use equipment, even level IV on a level 1 kit because I do not want to be a burden to the other players.
If I play with friends I even do Gold without equipment since I know how my friends play and how I can be of support plus we have a mic.

I use lvl 1 and 2 on silver as often i want it. Otherwise I would never use it, since I use for gold and platin 3 and 4 only. So, why not use it? It is a waste to let them unused for ever

I have lots of equipment. I wanna use them so why not? Not all of course I keep level 2-4 on golds.

Used level I consumables in silver while doing challenges, especially on kits that were "new" to me, had tons of them from buying packs ( for basic human kits )

Because it's a waste. There are starving kits on Gold who could use that equipment.

I´ve asked 4 people joining my U/U/G yesterday to use consumables, one hadn´t even bothered to put on a Gear bonus. They just readied up...

@ OP: Because I have literally THOUSANDS of ammo poweres I will never be able to use in my whole life. So, to make leveling on Silver faster, I use them.

Because having more than 80 of some equipment seems pointless. May as well use them since, you know, they stack up faster than CAN be used.

you can use your level 1s.... after all, you usually have them maxed out.

Why not? Also you need ammo for ammo effects, and I am not using level I consumables on gold, so why not use them in silver?

I used a power amp 4 in silver today. Got dropped into an ongoing hazard glacier geth game. Spawn nuked the basement with my respeced tech armor and kept exploding it. Overload pifff, who needs it.

Now reading the OP, i'm so sad. I shouldn't have used 1 of the 80+ power amp 4s i have

I don't play silver, but I would use equipment if I did. Probably some explosive ammo and stability mods or something.

I play silver games to get the Reckoning challenges done. I have 250+ of most level 1 consumables. What am I gonna do with those otherwise?

Yes I equip 2 Scopes on my Javelin and 2 Blades on my Claymore, who doesn't?  Cryo Rounds IV are a must, you have to shatter the competition you know?

I don't care if people use consumables from gold and lower. I generally don't use them there.

But I always use lvl 3&4 consumables on plat and I'll kick anyone without them on plat. I see it as some sort of investment.

I don't care where I use the ammo powers. I've got enough of them to last a life time a,ready. But AR rail amp and shotgun rail amp, on the other hand, is lvl 1/2 for gold and 3 for plat.

I'll use level 3 stuff of things in silver just to get rid of them. Especially on kits that I don't go to gold with. Pistol amp 3? Sure thing. Explosive rounds 3? Yup not taking those to Gold...

Pretty much this. Once you have a maxed manifest equipment accumulates quickly so you may as well use it. There's no point in sitting on huge equipment stockpiles.
