I have even enough lvl4 ammo to use it in silver, but I would not waste an ultra-rare lvl 3 weapon amp

Also a lot of players don't go on Plat or Gold so that leaves Silver and Bronze,anyway why not use them that's what they are there for,you don't get any extra XP or smarty points for saving them.

End of the day its your choice.

Because it's a waste. There are starving kits on Gold who could use that equipment.

If it secures an extraction where one may not have occurred, it's not a waste.

Also, chances are good that if you use equipment on Silver, it's either a different rating than what you would use on Gold, or you have equipment enough that you don't need to conserve it to have it available for Gold, or you don't intend to play on Gold.

Additionally, some people don't consider that some players don't play anything but Bronze and Silver. If you play regularly and buy packs regularly too, and you keep accumulating stuff left and right, then will you just let them consumables sleep unused forever? I sure would use them myself regardless of the difficulty setting. There's no "rules" against using consumables on any difficulty settings anyway, just do whatever you feel like.

I tend to use equipment on Silver games only if I'm less than level 10. Especially if I'm with randoms as I don't want to be a liability like so many randoms out there.

Why not? I have plenty to spare, I only play the weekend ops these days, and I have more fun playing silver than anything else, so it's where I spend the majority of the little time I play.

I've used all my level 1 and 2's, so only have 3 and 4's left.

IF I do a silver, why not?
It makes my Bowlus feel like the true god he should of been:

Level IV power amp makes (multi) charges clear spawns.
level III strength enhancer means I can BatGlove and infantry with one punch.
Level IV Cryo ammo because where am I going to use it, and armour debuff and chilling targets is actually kinda useful on the volus.

Feel free to judge me, but it makes me smile when I do that ^^^

Not sure why it matters. I play silver 90% of the time and gold a few times. I don't really use equipment but if I wanted to I could. It's their equipment they can use it however they like.

Well, I started a new manifest a few days ago. Equipment helps a lot on silver considering the crappy weapons I have so far.
On my other manifest I occasionally slap some level I's on, not because I need them, I'd just never find myself using them on higher difficulties.
So, no. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using equipment on silver. You may not think so with top levelled weapons/gear, but newer players don't have that. It can be quite tough to get by with a Mantis III on silver.

The main reason? I play this game to have fun, so I'll play however I want to.

The other reason? I get so fed up of reading "I carried a pug" threads that when I take a level 1 character in to a silver game I slap equipment on them so that I can contribute a fair share of damage output to the match, that way I know that none of those threads will ever be about the games I play in.

Because that is MY equipment! I can do whatever the hell I want with them! I'd bring IV gear into BRONZE if I felt like it (or if I had any)

I play silver to level up my lvl1 kits, and I always use equipment when I do that, because I need extraction which means full experience points. People who try to kick a fully equipped level 1s from silver, that's another story - just had a player placing a kickvote on my lvl1 Paladin, with PirahnaX, shotty amp II and inci ammo III in a silver lobby, I was like lol, wtf.

But seriously, I use equipment on Silver (usually Level 1 because what the heck else am I going to do with that stuff?) when I am playing a character/weapon I am unfamiliar with or am just not good with. Challenge grinding, yo. Equipment makes it easier to suck less.

I play Gold a lot, but I play silver when I'm looking for something easier or easy creds. Besides, who needs equipment when you are a KroLord?

I use to ask the same thing, but then I realized how useless or not as effective level 1 equipment can be in gold.  Also some people may just need it.  I thought I did when I was starting out.
