So, apperently there isn't a canon ending. Am I correct in assuming this? Probably.

There's an implication within the Citadel DLC to actually "fix" the ending for those of us who don't like the current ones. Yes, through the power of analytical literature and about four beers (give or take) I have found a solution! Also, if this has been brought up before appologies.

Ok, after the ending you are brought back to the moment in time right before Chronos Station. The SR2 is stationed near the Widow nebula so you don't actually see the objective in the Horsehead nebula indicating you need to plunder TIM's booty of Cerberus mooks.

Here's is where you can implement your own ending fix, no mods, tears or sad nights alone with a Garrus shapped love pillow needed!

-------

Play the Citadel DLC, BUT ONLY PLAY THE PART WHERE SHEP DEFEATS HIS EVIL SEXY TWIN/HANG WITH YOUR CREW, AFTER THAT PROCEED TO FINISH THE GAME. Right after the end sequence when the SR2 flies off into the horizon (Yes, please for the love of god have the EC for this one) turn off your TV for about fifteen minutes but leave your PC/console running. This will bypass the ****ing stupid scene with Buzz "ruining your game" Aldrin.

Step two is to turn your monitor or TV back on and proceed to continue the game. ONLY THIS TIME IT'S AFTER THE ENDING AND NOT BEFORE CHRONOS STATION! Let me explain.

This is where you go to the Citadel, never click on Alliance Docks or you will be sad and depressed again. Instead click on Silversun Strip. Proceed into your appartment and start sending out party invites. Proceed to have party.

This DLC was literally made for after the ending. There is no crew conversations about the war save for Garrus refering to how Shepard's dancing can defeat the Reapers (but he's wasted and it's vauge.) Everything else is conversation pertaining to the party.

The best thing is, the entire Ward strip seems to have no clue that the war is going on! You can literally just walk around and have your happy ending without hearing about the war! Sure there is a conversation between a Vorcha and a Human about deployments but they are conversing in the past tense, so that can be taken as two individuals who survived the war!

You know what I did? I finished the game, had the party and saved during the aftermath where everyone has a hangover. Boom, that's my ending and it can be yours too! You can just stay in the Wards with your LI or team and have that happy ending.

Just don't go back to the Normandy, because then you will hear that shoehorned line (BW seems to be all about the depression) along the lines of "Probably the last party we'll ever have." Nope, this is the first of many parties.

Gotta love it how the writing is so poor in ME they screwed up their own beloved ending, in such a way that a DLC pack can be taken as an after the fact.

Also, I think someone should make banners for this...Along the lines of "My Shep Had His/Her Party After The War." Oh god, that's pretty bad. I trust someone will refine that...

That's actually pretty brilliant. I'm not sure I'd be able to trick myself into accepting that, though, at least without some alcohol.

lmao at your Buzz comment. I completely agree with that name.

It's not hard to believe, I mean none of the ambient conversation in the entire Wards is about the war. Nor is the conversations at the party.

It works extremely well. At remember, there is no canon ending!

Yeah...I'm sure it's a good party, but I could only appreciate it if it was for a reason, you know? Like a victory party. But there is no victory.

Works even better with MEHEM.

Good idea, although personally I'll still stick with my Destroy ("Hackett said EVERYTHING can be rebuilt, dammit! That includes EDI and the geth!") headcanon happy ending. :)

No that's what I'm saying...Pick destroy and then go back and have the party.

And if you're a stickler for details, just pretend the "Assault the Illusive Man's Base" journal entry is just one of the *cough* glitches.

That's not a bad idea. I mean it doesn't beat MEHEM, but still extremely smart idea.

Maximum Headcanon.

The issue here is that rebuilding the Citadel takes time, and EDI is dead post-Destroy.

EDIT:

Didn't mean to sound like a debbie downer mmkay. No one likes debbie downers.

I did this too. However, I don't think it's poor writing. I think it's actually very clever.

Basically, if you want this, just avoid certain scenes in the DLC and there you go. An appropriately bittersweet, with an accent on the sweet (except for Mordin singing that song gorram itImage IPB), goodbye. If you like the ending, you play it normally. Either way, a great farewell.

There is just no way that this is coincidence. Yes, the original ending was a massive load o' fail, but considering how good the writing is the rest of the time...I'm pretty sure this was their non-patch patch, written to work for as much of the fanbase as possible. Okay, I have no idea about Jacob and Kelly, and there's a distinct lack of Legion content, but seriously, they walked that tightrope brilliantly enough to make Dick Grayson envious.

Just assume it takes place after recontruction. In best destroy it's not significantly damaged, nor are the relays.

With EDI, yeah there is a plothole. However you can do what a lot of people did and (like the Geth) say she was rebuilt or her essential programs were saved.

Probably works for some folks. Now that the Citadel DLC is here I can just play until the beam.. shut the game off then flip over to Maurader Shields as an ending. That works too, plus it has the benefit of still being up in the air as to how it ends. Also no star brat, Big Dumb Space Escape scenes, Garden of Eden allegory, and inexplicable cowardice in from my Normandy crew. It literally curb-stomps anything that the real endings have to offer.

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. The world is aware that people don't like the endings, but the fact that you had to think of ALL this, go to this extreme just so you can be content with the ending... it's just sad.  The ending's are what they are, deal with it. I finished the game recently again, and even though I feel like there's someting missing, the ending's aren't horrific enough to warrent forcing yourself to imagine things and turning your TV off...
