EA ruining more than just Mass Effect.

The flow of disconnect-threads, DLC check issues, Origin issues and all the other nonsense associated with EAs greed is a constant on these boards.

Every morning when I wake up I cycle through the news feed on Yahoo and today I stumbled upon this article.

I guess it doesn't come as a big surprise but I thought I'd share since these things are common with ME3MP and ME3 in general.

I doubt EA will ever do anything about it but I suppose if we can shout loud enough they may just change their tune.

The Crysis 3 servers are pretty bad.

Indeed. The multi is a little meh and reminds me a lot of Uncharted 3's. But the single-player is great. This is gonna be a busy gaming month.

Got five new releases this month to look forward too.

The ONE match I played ran pretty well.

The other disturbing aspect of this is that the team at Maxis had to release a statement. They produce a product they are proud of and hope their fans like it but are bogged down by EA scumbaggery. Sounds very similar to the situation here.

I've said it before: if you play with WiFi, drop it, try and use a good old cable. It changed the game for me: I've had less than 5 DC in the last 6 months when I used to have several per days. And no, I didn't change my ISP or anything. I just switched from Wifi to cable.

^ You're right, it's not even close. Back when I played CoD, I could play. It was my game and I could do what I wanted with it. Any game purchased from EA...

I'm always plugged in. I don't have constant DCs though I do get them. There was one time, however, where I DCd every couple of minutes for a month or so. Oddly enough changing my e-mail fixed it.

However, I constantly get game crashes on DLC checks, DLC is constantly unable to be authorized. This is my F***ing game, I paid for it, and I often can't play it because of EA.

If you haven't had any issues with EA antics then you're just lucky.

Until Crysis 3, ME3 MP was the only game since I moved to ever give me any sort of connectivity issue beyond the occasional lag spike during a match. Never had a disconnect (disregarding Crysis 3 losing connection to the servers while browsing the multi menu. Matches are okay) with any other game.

I won't support any EA games anymore. Except for ME4 and, if they actually are clever enough to do that, a good BF194x with LOTS of vehicles and some need for actual teamplay.

I really can't explain it. I used to curse at my screen about DC. My game experience was much more frustrating. I don't know why I thought about going from wifi to cable, but man, I don't regret it. Maybe my dongle was iffy, but then again, I've played 3 playthroughs of borderlands with friends and never got DC from this game. Shenanigans.

Regardless if you have had issues with the games yourself, it's the business practices that every single one of us should be upset with.

Oh I am and I feel the frustration of anyone getting frequent DC. There would have been much less rage if the game was giving you credits as the game goes, not at the end. I mean, it can record your challenge completion on the fly, so credits should be no different.

You're missing the point. Requiring always-on internet and DLC checks is crap and shouldn't be tolerated. Even if you don't have issues yourself, it's the principle of it. Every consumer on the planet should be upset with it and stand against such nonsense.

I wonder if you could take them to trading standards for selling a product that's not fit for purpose... though I strongly suspect there's some weasely get-out clause in the EULA somewhere; I sometimes wonder how many of these EULAs would actually pass legal oversight.

I would imagine said oversight is lackluster at best.

Such is the absolute garbage that spews forth from EA constantly. Thanks Blind though I see this thread being locked for non me3 mp related.

It is alright when companies go so far to remove piracy that they punish legitimate consumers it always backfires. I know alot of people who will pirate games out of spite if the DRM is terribad such as this game.

I'm pretty sure always online DLC won't stick, it may even be scrapped for SimCity 2013. look at ubisoft, they removed it from From Dust because it caused an uproar. I think the same may happen here.

Can you not play it offline? That is ridiculous, would not buy. I would never play an SP game that I needed an internet connection for.

Also, not related to MP, inb4lock etc.

^ Well it is related in a sense as ME3MP is where the topic of the thread is real for me. My game often crashes on DLC checks and doesn't allow me to play the game I paid for. I have to do some ridiculous workaround just to play. So, it is pretty relevant.

Yeah, I figured a lock would come, but I'll stand against EA and their crap every chance I get. This forum seemed like the best place to share this since it's where the problems are real for me.

@Klokos: I seriously hope so.
