I made a Mage and don't want to waste my points.
I read a few threads and it seems that Arcane Warrior and Blood Mage are the two best for damage, is that right?
Some people say I should get 1 "element" like fire, arcane, earth or ice and then just spec into another spec like Arcane Warrior or Blood Mage I guess?
Is that good? Right now I only have 1 in the ice tree because people said that cone is really good and essential. Did I take a good choice? Should I learn all spells of the ice tree? Should I even spec into other spells like fire etc?
I also read that fireblast and shock and one of the ice spells are all the same but just do a different kind of damage, so it'd be useless to spec into all.

I really like the Ice line and always take the first three. Fireball is great for a ranged attack. You'll get a lot more info if you repost this where spoilers are alowed.

The ice tree is a good choice. It is not really necessary to spec into other trees in the primal school if you don't plan to use them. Similarly, if you like the idea of using aoe spells, getting Blizzard would be convenient as you've decided to get cone of cold.
There are many good spells in other schools, so a mage can become much more versatile if not restricted to just the primal spells. Heal, the glyphs, the hexes, the trees ending with mana clash and crushing prison, the sleep tree are all great additions to any mage's arsenal. So, you might want to read the descriptions and decide for yourself. As you've decided to spec as an arcane warrior, miasma and rock armor are going to be very useful, especially if you are going to use melee weapons.
You are right about the blood mage - arcane warrior combo being good for a damage dealing mage. Both the specs have great synergy.

As an arcane warrior, the only thing that can even hurt you is magic.
For this reason, you should get both mana clash & spell shield.
On elemental magic, rock armor is a given, and personally i like to boost my weapons with flaming weapons

I usually use just winters grasp, arcane bolt, and then move on to spirit for, mind blast, crushing prison, walking and virulent walking bomb. Then fill entropy, especially for paralyze and mass paralysis. And blood magic for blood wound. I hardly need anyone else.
