what do you think about multiple endings in video games? in my oppinion they are welcome but they don't fit all games one exampel is elder scrolls unlike most games elder scrolls it doesn't tell personal story but story of entire game universe which brings lot of problems they did 1 elder scrolls game with multiple endings but they just dug themselfs into the hole because they had to choose cannon ending so they went easy way and decided that all endings are cannon and that made warp in the west. here are all endigs of daggerfall and intro

I enjoy them. Although in cases like Fable II I won't replay the whole game since the endings themselves are based on a single act at the end of the game versus Fallout: New Vegas where your choices throughout the game tell a different ending.

i agree but i felt new vegas kind of poor ending because all it was do you wanna rule new vegas which is not really that important

C-c-c-combo breaker!
But anyway. I enjoy them, but I too feel that they introduce too many problems for world persistence. I'd rather have a more varied game and a fairly singular or binary ending.

The knowledge that one is canon usually diminishes the impact of the 'Bad Endings'.
Of course the bad or bittersweet ending is sometimes the canon one. But such a thing is rare.

Still better than just one cliffhanger ending... or two endings that both completely suck.

I think having multiple endings work depending on what game it is. I agree that the Elder Scrolls games don't really fit the multiple ending situation because it doesn't fit with the gameplay style; they aren't really based on your ability to think morally, just on what gear you're going to wear and what sort of combat approach you have.
Dragon Age: Origins did it really well, drawing on choices from throughout the game and implementing them in a slide-based ending which, albeit a bit boring, worked.

If done right. I love getting a certain ending because I did "This and that." However, Multiple endings where all of them suck are a no-no for me.

Dragon Age Origins does it rather well as you get endings to suit most people's taste.
