How well does the radius upgrade of various powers and grenades work? I'm thinking especially of the one with a pretty low radius to begin with, like Incinerate and Cryo Blast. Is it worth taking radius over damage? I can see how it work better with companions, whose powers trigger instantaneously, but how well does it work for Shepard, whose powers have to travel to the target(s)? Does anyone have any advice on this?

on powers like incinerate and cryo blast radius will usually only hit two targets. On classes like human infiltrator and human engineer. I always spec the male for damage and female for radius (so I can get multiple fire/cryo explosions)

Thanks, but I'm talking about single player here, not multiplayer.

I like radius for cryo, incinerate and the grenades.

For things like concussive shot, carnage and slam, its not like all the enemies are standing in that close of a proximity all the time, so I spec for the damage instead. I also believe the radius on them isn't that big anyway. The squadmate AI tends to use them on single enemies more than groups anyways.

For Singularity,  I like rank 4's "pick up additional enemies" far better and find it more useful.

Only time I really see Radius upgrades useful for anything, its usually on Biotics or their detonations.

Seriously, ever see what happens when you use a Flare with a 9m radius and detonate evo on a detonate spec'd Warp primed target?

What is the base radius for Incinerate and Cryo Blast, anyway? The game doesn't say, the radius upgrade only states "increase radius by 2 metres" or something similar.

It should be listed on the bottom where the description is.

You'd think so, but it's not. It's not mentioned anywhere in-game that I can see.

I'm looking at my engineer right now and you're right. There is no stat for radius for cryo blast or incinerate. Will check for some of the other abilities.

Edit: The ME wiki has some of the stats for the powers.

I agree with Sora on this topic. Radius is better for all biotics. I cannot think of a biotic power that does not benefit from extra radius. Maybe Barrier (detonation damage/radius), but that is because I would never recommend detonating it. I also would not recommend taking Barrier anymore either when Fortification is so much better since patch 1.05.

For grenades, the radius should always be good enough, so I would choose the other option instead, which is usually more damage.

For tech powers, I think it depends on the power. I always take Radius on Cryo Blast so I can hit more targets.
Incinerate is toss-up. I never use Incinerate on its own anymore (I tend to use Sabotage first), so I always spec it for damage instead.
Energy Drain has a 1m radius. If you are using Energy Drain as an anti-shield power only, then I recommend speccing for damage instead of the extra radius. Otherwise go for radius for the potential to hit more targets.

I like Radius on Concussive Shot. It will not knock down any enemies indirectly hit by the radius (only the enemy it hits directly), but it will stagger them.
I do not use Carnage enough to comment, but it has a 1 or 1.5m radius if I recall, so the extra radius might be useful, but I think I would go for damage.
