See, that's really a big turn-off. I don't like to be called 'dear' by anyone other than my mother, father, and grandparents. So... ick and blargh and yecchh.

I wonder if it was intentionally done. Sort of like a bucket of cold water thrown at the players. I wouldn't put it past those sneaky Bioware writers

I think they did that to show "development" to a comfortable established relationship from an infatuation or something, but I think that is a bit off. My husband speaks more lovingly to me after 10 years of marriage than he did at the beginning, actually.

This is when you can either strictly specify that she's getting the wrong idea, or enforce the more than friends path. And yeah, I remember telling her "Love you" but I honestly though it was in a platonic way D:

Personally after being married for 15 years, I am thrilled when my husband calls me by name instead of honey, hon, lovey or babe. Saying, "Love ya, babe" doesn't impact me as much as "I love you, Kara." So 'dear' made me flinch too. Pet names are for pets!

Totally agree! When I was a stay at homer, there was a full week where no one called me by my actual name! It was "honey" or "momma."

LOL Ya know, I don't know... Because dwarves have exceptional hips for birthing? But, oh man, I remember when my Boy Child was small and I was at home all the time. My hubby traveled a LOT, so there were days when I only spoke to an adult by yelling at something on TV. LOL

There are two maybe three default dwarf faces that are nice and then I just change them a little bit to get the look I'm going for - this isn't even my prettiest dwarf, she's got a kind of intense thing going on. My Sereda was softer looking, but she won't upload.

I like "Your desire is my command" so much better than "Something you need, my dear?" The tone of it really defines the line for me. Seems like the two should have been switched around.



Leliana always falls for me because I'm nice to everyone. Hey, I got you the nug because I want my companions to be happy, it's not an engagement gift! During the gossip talks, Alistair accused me of lying about our relationship as well. I wish "That's news to me" was an option.



I'm playing a harsh, blunt mage right now and picking only mean responses for Alistair lol I have a feeling he'll be interested anyway. Trying to actually NOT break Leliana's heart this time. That "I know we're friends, but sometimes I think we can be more than that" nervous stammer line always makes me feel guilty.

There IS a way to turn the romance with Zev back on. Give him the boots (or gloves) and you'll get an option about him liking to watch you as you walk (big paraphrase here). I followed that, thinking I was just flirting the way he does with everyone ("magical bosom" e.g.) and boom, it was on again. And then I got the encounter with Taliesen and Zev soon tried to give me the earring. Not that that's a BAD thing - I just have to avoid talking to him at all now or else I'm going to get the "It's him (Alistair) or me" convo.I'm hedging my bets till the Landsmeet. But I'm going to force Alistair to spend the night with Morrigan regardless. His little price for wanting to be king.

This is why I adore Zevran. with him you can clear it up quickly, obviously and he doesn't go sulking about it.

With leliana, I ended it once, did something or other during which she did her just friendly "I know that look" greeting, then I said something wrong in the next conversation because I apparently got it going again. Arg!

I've two endings in which my PCs were totally in a romance with Alistair and I made that clear to everyone, even "breaking up" with Zev (twice in one game) and both games ended with me in a romance with both of them. The one where I broke up with Zev twice, I even married Alistair and became queen and the epilogue still talked about him sticking around to be with his love.

So yeah, Zev is just as bad as the others.

I think most who adore Alistair would get annoyed as hell after a month living with him for real... All that whining babystuff etc is annoying enough in Your 3yearold kids, but from Your so called "man"? Urgh...
Never had them unattentionally turn romance on though... Might be because I intentionally flirt with everything that moves? =O
The wife says "You're incorrigeable!" to me alot when I play... Wonder why? ^^

It was quite annoying trying to balance dialogue with Leliana. She kept falling for me when I thought I was giving only friendly or supportive answers. Aren't friends supposed to be supportive? Does it always lead to romance?

Bioware, are you suggesting I need to re-examine the way I speak to my female companions everywhere?  *scratches forehead*

There is such a thing as real people getting the wrong impressions when you try to have friendly conevrsations with them. I suppose it does no harm to include the same frustrations with game characters. :happy:

Well, when he's talking to the kids "Go tell Mommy I need this".  The sexiest thing he does is call me by my real name - and not the shortened version of it everyone calls me despite me never introducing myself as such. I swear to the Maker that I can get shivers now just hearing my name. It's so sad.
