The bug only seems to be effecting console users not PC, so you got lucky :P

I play exclusively on PC and the glitch definitely affected my romance scene with Kaidan (Kaidan and FemShep eye rolling at each other at the door, luckily no audio glitch).

I've replayed the romance scene several times since and the glitch seems to happen really at random (same as the painful neck craning during the picture taking in Citadel); everything was fine twice, and it glitched again once.

I'll make an effort to replay through the ending tomorrow and report on whether I had any issues with the EC.

I don't think Citadel or the patch glitches Extended Cut. There was a rare glitch when it first came out about the DLC not activating, and this might be it.

EC worked fine for me just now, and again, no eyerolling in the pre-Cronos romance scene, luckily enough.

Since I've been replaying ME3 with Citadel and the patch, I've noticed glitches with the timing for audio as well as movement and gestures during conversations. Sometimes two voice tracks will play at once or the character will have a bugged gesture and then appear to just reset. The audio also seems to be delayed by 2-3 seconds in some cases. It can certainly effect the gravity of some scenes.

^ Can you replicate this with consistency? And if so, what scenes could other players like myself test for ourselves?

Well I got to ask them about these glitches during one of the panels at pax east. They said it was an unfortunate side effect of introducing so much new dialogue content into the game and that a patch was not currently in the works. It seems unlikely that well be getting a fix for it which obviously sucks but at least it seems as though the pc version remains unaffected. Plus in a year or two multiplayer will probably be kind of dead as everyone will have moved on so playing without the single player patches will be less of an issue for console players. I kinda got the vibe that the team is just really wanting to move on from me3 so they probably aren't psyched to go back and fix this.

Dang it, that really sucks.

I understand wanting to be done and move on, but these are pretty important scenes that are broken. Hopefully they rethink that position.

How much chance do you think there is that this WON'T be fixed? I'm going with a 95% chance.

It totally sucks.
Yeah, they want to start other proyects and move on. We also love Mass Effect, and we are sad that it's over too, the only thing we have left is that we still can play through the trilogy again, but these glitches will going to make it far less enjoyable. It would be so bad just one last patch? for us, the ME lovers who are willing to keep playing?? and for the new players in the future? Please??

Exorcist heads have happened since ME3 came out. In fact, they still do, which shows how ****ty the patch support of BioWare continues to be since forever.

Some times my femshep didnt even talk AT all, you'd hear a squad mate saying something then silence with a femshep subtitle popping up...

Man, that sucks. I'm probably  still going to try calling tech support in the off chance that they can do something from theor end, but I won't hold my breath.

Has the entire team moved? I was under the impression (from discussions with a friend in the gaming industry) that a small team is usually left behind for maintenece when moving onto new projects - even if it's a team of like 5 people. Which is why she told me if I expected a patch for this game, I'd have to wait quite a while.

I want to be sure, is it possible to play ME3 with all the DLC without the patches and without encountering some serious problems?

Thanks for bringing it up at PAX, AndreasShepard - much appreciated.

"An unfortunate side effect," huh?

Well that's a lovely understatement right there. I wasn't a disappointed customer until this. Especially since the latest patch didn't seem to be what added the new dialogue...

Anyway...

I can't verify that myself but upthread it's been said there were no problems. Also, I played through the game with the latest patch and the only bad glitch I experienced was the romance scene before Chronos. Any other minor glitches have been there from the beginning.

The best workaround, if you want to be able to keep the patches' changes, is to play patched until launching the Chronos mission. Delete the update and then launch the mission, play the scene, and then reinstall and continue on. A pain the butt, but it doesn't seem like we're getting anything else.

Can someone tell me how to delete the patch or whatever it is that is causing the graphics glitch? I bought the game disk and only downloaded the extended cut and the Citadel DLC and never ever multiplay anyway. I would like to get rid of the head twisting and eyerolling thing but don't know which files to delete where..

I actually have a question about this, for anyone familiar with programming, game engines and stuff like that.

Why would the addition of dialogue affect animations? And if so, how easily could this be fixed?

It's completely embarrassing that they wouldn't address this. Just so bad.

The head twisting and eye rolling has existed since day 1 of ME3. As have other random graphic glitches, like the monitors in Liara's quarters for example. This is just a BW thing or maybe it's the Unreal Engine, dunno.

I've updated to latest patch with all DLC's installed and don't have these new glitches mentioned. I play only on PC.

@SammySoSo. The addition of dialogue will be synced to the animations and therefore additional dialogue must surely have an impact on the animations. Easily fixed? It would all have to be re-rendered and that takes quite some time. You may or may not have noticed that the speech in parts is out of sync. Not sure if this was introduced via a patch or existed from day 1. Will have to check some of the early videos I have of first playthrough's.

The Liara romance scene is broken and that has been since about 1.02 or 1.03 I think. In my game, when femShep goes to kiss Liara the first time, there is no Liara (this definitely wasn't case on release as I have video from then). The dialogue exists though. Oh well.

I think it very unlikely these issues will be fixed now. Aren't they working on a new game. Might keep releasing minor patches for the MP but otherwise can't see major things being fixed.

People who download the patch but not the Citadel DLC are getting the Cronos scene screwed up, though. I'm not sure how that's connected to new dialogue.

It depends on what they altered which is unknown.  That is the trouble with patches, they fix one thing and break another.    And with people having different set ups and things installed, makes it all the harder to ensure patch works for everyone without issue.  They do test these things but can't predict 100% success with programming.

Can anybody tell a person who is on a pc (windows xp) experiencing this eye and head twisting glitch how to remove the offending patch? I do not multiplay at all so my game is being ruined for nothing. :-(

Does removing the latest patch fix the issues and allow you to play the dlc fine?
