If you have completed both challenges and received only 1 comm pack instead of the promised 3 (1 for participation, 1 for Normal challenge and 1 for Insanity (Platinum) challenge), then send a PM to NPLewes of Bryan Johnson.

I did send a PM to NPLewes. He just ignored it.

That's quite an assumption considering it is STILL the weekend and BioWare's business hours are Monday through Friday like most businesses.

What glitch was this?

Some people had eternally reappearing Gift Packs in their store. So, naturally, the logical thing to do was open it 2,400 times because there's no way that could possibly not be legit and no way BioWare would ever notice you totally abused that glitch.

LOL

P.S. Sarcasm not directed at your question, Major. I am just still in awe at whoever opened that thing 2,400 times and didn't think that something was wrong/there would be no repercussions.

2400 is ridiculous, but how is a person at fault for continuing to open these free packs? I thought the glitch required people to do something. Instead the packs just kept appearing.

But what's the point to open it that many times? To get free ammunition? I have to reconsider my understanding of notion "greed")))

Beats me...

Maybe commendation packs are free ultra rares when all commendation packs are maxed out?

Probably not though. Image IPB

@Ahms you are correct we did not give credit for prior to retaliation. To be fair you did open more than 25.

I didn't exactly keep count. Why was everything deleted? I'm a net loss after the "clean up." Prior to that weekend challenge I had completed two others.

You can't expect them to count the completed weekend challenge for everyone who abused the glitch (and from what I'm reading it appears there were many of them) and give back the packs according to that count. They only had an automatism in place since Retaliation, aka Bloodlust and used that. I'm pretty sure everything earlier would have required extensive manual work.

So just use a sledgehammer when you should be using a scalpel is what you're saying? If a bank computer has a glitch and gives out tens of thousands of dollars (variable amount) each to all of their customers, you think the right play there is to clear out everybody's accounts just to be safe?

BS. If you're going to take back what isn't somebody's, leave the stuff that is theirs to begin with.

What does this bank-example have to do with anything? It doesn't even fit, you had to actively exploit the glitch to get that many weapons, that's more like robbing a bank. Of course, you get punished for doing that.

and clearly you dont understand what people are trying to say so let me try my hand at it. Lets say you walk into a room and there on a table is a hat with a sign that says free hat. You take the hat and another one appears with a sign that says free hat, you take this hat and again another appears. So yet again you take the hat & yet again another one pops up with the free hat sign. You do this a few times and start to wonder if this is suppose to be happening, so you check and guess what its not so you stop. Now someone walks in and they take back the hats along with the cloths you are wearing. They then give you back your pants & shirt & tell you to be on your way. You are now missing the shoes & coat you walked in with before the hat incident. Now if you still dont understand i feel sorry for you. But what we are trying to get across is the punishment does not fit the crime and they overreacted to a simple mistake. It would be one thing if we forced the glitch, hacked the system or if it cost people money but it didnt so why should we be punished for it? They took away the illgotten items thats enough, why should we also lose what we already had.

And if you think this was "stealing" or "cheating" then shouldnt everyone who aquired extra packs be punished? Even if you only took 1 or 2 its still cheating &/or stealing. Why should it be ok to take one or two but bad to take 5 or more? if one person is punished then all who did it should be punished as well, its only fair. And i guarantee if that happened then most of you here wouldnt be scoffing at & belittleing those of us who have been effected, youd be here crying like a little baby to every mod employed by bioware.

Someone opened up 2,400 commendations packs? lol. Wow. What possesses one to do that?

I'm guessing he/she had "PL" or "RUS" in their gamer tag name. Not knocking on our fellow Polish or Russian gamers, but they're sneaky. :bandit:

Yeah noticed a few people saying we abused the glitch, we didn't even know it was a glitch. I can only play at weekends due to work and don't follow the forums too often, so when I get online and see a 'free gift pack' I click it, then it reappears, so I clicked again. All in all I think I did maybe 6, I'm not sure of the total. I then decided to look on here to see what the occasion was for the free gifts and find out it's a glitch, at which point I added my report, and didn't open any more, by my reckoning I lost maybe four or five upgrades via the clean-up so I don't mind too much. It's unfair but not game-breaking for me.

But yeah those who have used the word 'abused' try to remember you have to know its a glitch in the first place to abuse it.

Here's how a normal gamer would do this:

Me: Yay, finished Lodestar normal
Store: Gift and Comm packs
Me: Redeem Gift
Me: Redeem Comm pack
Store: Gift pack
Me: Uh, didn't I just redeemed it? Guess not.
Me: Redeems Gift
Store: Gift Pack
Me: Uh, that's not right. I already redeemed it.
Me: Goes to Bioware site and asks what to do about it.

Cheater: Keeps redeeming Gift packs cause "it's biowares faulty code not my fault"

Yeah, they removed the abused weapons along with weapons earned fair and square like my N7 Crusader! I had that weapon LONG before the glitch and now it's gone! I understand taking back the weapons that were gotten through the glitch but weapons that we had previously should have been left alone.

If you can't tell I'm really unhappy about this, and in all fairness, it was Bioware's fault for the glitch. It wasn't a hack the users created or any other form of cheating. Give me back my N7 Crusader, I earned that one.

Nice use of commas and full stops, although you still need to learn how to use Upper Case letters.
Go back to school, kid.

Dude the glitch didn't happen on this Operation, it happened during Operation: Impact, or better before Operation: Impact, where every player was granted a Gift Pack that was supposed to contain a Reckoning DLC character kit so we couldn't lose the event.
Too bad the glitch itself made the Gift Pack reappear to those players who didn't redeem the gift before the Operation went live, and that's why only a fraction of the community was caught in it.

In my case I kept opening the Gift Packs because I wasn't getting any Reckoning Kit, just promo weapons, and I refused to go on after the eighth "failure", so I came to the BSN to check out what was going on.

You should try harder to put us (and by us I mean those that didn't open 25 or 2400 Gift Packs) in a "bad" light.

Offensive much, huh?
Are you losing any legit arguments already, aside from the fact you didn't have any from the start?

Anyway the fact that we've been re-awarded the Commendation Packs we've earned since Retaliation shows how BioWare recognized their fault in letting the Gift Packs glitch happen.
If we were supposed to be cheating then they could legitimately ban us without appeal for intentional breach of the EULA, which this wasn't.

The problem comes when people like me, who've been playing ME3 MP from March 2012, are deprived of the Promo weapons they earned by legitimately playing the game.
It would be even worse if people found out that the developers removed from their inventories weapons they found in packages paid with BioWare Points (i.e.: real money) just because they got unconsciosly caught in a glitch...
