BroJo, I respectfully disagree.  I read Visionazzey's post. 

What is wrong with his post and the example he gave is too big for me to ignore.  In his example, the person who cheated is not responsible because the other person did not cover up their exam paper.  That is wrong on so many levels. 

It is the academic equivalent of saying a woman should not dress a certain way if she does not want undo attention.  It takes all the responsibility off the perp (student cheater, sexual harasser, video game exploiter) and lays it on everyone else.

Yes, BioWare should do everything it can to make sure that game code is correct before it hits the streets.  EA should do everything it can to make sure Origin code is correct before it hits the streets.  I have and will complain mightily about the failure to do that, especially on EA's end with Origin and the EA servers from hell (SimCity anyone?).

However, no code will ever be perfect, bugs will happen.  Those that choose to obviously exploit the code are not "victims."  That makes me gag. 

Click on a free gift pack a few times?  Sure.  But at some point, 4, 5, 6 packs down the road, you know something is wrong.  If you are honest, you stop.  If you are not honest, you keep going until all your promotional weapons are maxed.  Or in one case, promotional weapons maxed and all consumables maxed.  Sheesh. 

Those that did the fourth or fifth or sixth, some of them came on BSN and asked what was up.  They self reported.  They were not victims, but they knew something was wrong and they tried to do the right thing.  I wish I could shake their hands.  Unfortunately, some on BSN only saw it as a chance to ridicule and deride.  Maturity and generosity are not strong points of BSN.

I don't consider BioWare the victim in this, the folks I think were harmed were those who did not cheat, who played by the rules and when they saw something wrong, asked, self-reported and most likely, had their weapon upgrades rolled back.  Or those who never saw the glitch and only got the packs and upgrades they were supposed to have.  But 2400 packs-guy, he's the victim?  YGBSM.  He is playing everyone else for a sucker.  Exploit a glitch, keep your head down and hope no one notices.

BroJo, I accept that you take responsibility for not catching the error prior to release, good on ya.  But the rest of the logic behind Visionazzey's post?  No way in hell.  People make choices, when they choose the wrong path, then they should be accountable for their actions.  This was not an "attractive nuisance" and I am not buying any "Twinkie" defense, folks made bad choices and knowingly did the wrong thing of their own free will.  Neither the Devil nor BioWare made them do it.

If i were not a legit cheater and you guys took out on me rthat i cheated when i know i did not i would be furious. The oversights by bioware on these major things is one of many instances since me3's launch- both single and multi why so many fans feel agrieved, their unput undervaluyed..and i tell you pewes for fact i certainly NOT tyhe only one that encouraging you and strongly advising you to change your 'cheating' policy.

Simple fix the glitch then you have much less cheaters. but do not address major mplayer glitch exploits and you have the same problem over and over.

When you do an exam...and you try to look over your friends shoulder next to you at college you can only look at the answers to cheat if your friends paper is visible from where you are sitting. BUT if your friend conceals his exam paper from you, then you cannot cheat can you?

supportive advice. pls take it on board from many of us who have concerns botu the manner you conduct the cheating policy. One simple tweak pewes is it really that ahrd for you guys?

Second, that logic is not correct, people know when they are cheating and when they are not, even if the game has a glitch you know that you shouldn't exploit it, it's like missile glitchers, their logic is "blablabla bioware didn't fix the glitch so i will exploit the hell out of it", bioware fix the glitch then glitchers find another variation, "blablablabla i do the glitch because it's bioware's fault because they didn't fix the glitch"......

I find that logic stupid and the only think it does if blame others for their own faults, it's like if I see a car with the keys inside, if i see it I know I shouldn't take it, and if I take it and stole it is not the owner's fault, is mine, is me who is commiting the crime.

So is not BioWare's fault, because all games have glitches and cheaters will cheat no matter what, so it isn't developers fault that people want everything in a easy way.

Yes, people will argue that it's a video game and try to make it like morality doesn't matter. But really, honestly, I would hope most of us would recognize when something is wrong and stop doing it.

People are human. Mistakes are made. Oversights happen. It is the way of life.

I dont think they were cause my account was "cleaned" and its not back to the way it was, im missing the crusader & 1 level off my valiant, eagle & valkyrie. Its bad enough i didnt get any of the items i was suppose to get from various promotions & the ME3 figures i bought but now i have stuff taken away cause of glitch that i didnt know was a glitch at the time. And no i didnt max out every weapon so dont say i "deserved it". Did i redeem more than i should've yes but that doesnt justify taken away the stuff i worked for.

What we did was took away all promo weapons, wiped the record of you having opened all commendation packs (and lodestar gift pack) so that you could re-open your packs.

Are they potentially the same weapons they were before, nope I will admit they might not be but your number of commendation weapons is equal the challenges you did.

I would think that is more or less a fair compromise, instead of just taking away all your weapons.

I don't think taking so much is very nice of that person.However EA and Bioware don't do right by the players on a day to day basis such as 90 mim to two hours. is a long time to wait for service?The game and servers have had more glitches than I can even remember.I have been playing the game for over a year. I have lost money and product through glitches.Every time someone is droped from the servers you lose consumables.No one gives back any thing thats lost? This last glitch took over two hours of my time.My god your selling consumables that are only computer generated in a make believe world.Every time I've tried to get back any thing I have lost I get a song and dance and that's it.It would'nt hurt to give back some product.Seems bioware is best at taking, am I missing something here?I know bioware could'nt let that abuse ride.BUT?

Okay, I just got back to playing this game in quite a while. Last I played was just when EC was released, then I shelved the game because... well, I don't need to go into that, do I?

I started playing about two weeks ago for old time's sake and stumbled upon the glitch. After I opened the 5th pack, I realized something was up. But then I thought there was some kind of backlogging with these gift packs (probably to encourage more people playing and potentially spending $ on packs) for all of the time off the game or something. Because they wouldn't make such a terribad mistake of having glitch a huge part of their cash flow, right? Oops.

There must've been about 25 packs that I opened. Well, I just logged into ME3 MP just 15 minutes ago and I noticed that EVERYTHING has been wiped. Even the stuff I had before.....................................

I had all of my N7 weapons wiped back to levels from far before this glitch happened. I opened a few, and realized there was a glitch, and then throughout the day I opened more to see if it had been fixed. Then, to play the game tonight, for some reason, I lost an N7 (eagle) weapon that I had months before this glitch happened and lost a lot of weapon progress. This was not just a simple wipe, I lost a lot of time. Not impressed.

@cmdrjoe You completed 6 challenges, and now have 7 levels to your promo guns, so how did you lose time, other than to open those packs again?

@Ahms you are correct we did not give credit for prior to retaliation. To be fair you did open more than 25.

Why would they do so many..... after opening 50 of them they would have all their promo weapons maxed out, assuming that they had none at that point....

Even if they were coded to give out ultra rares once promo weapons were maxed out that is only a max of 222.... [all promos and all ultra rares, character cards included]

You miss the point mate
. The issue is fairness and balance I not saying not penalize cheaters I saying they should be penalized only if they proven thet the pperson cheats.  I saying biowarre need to b more accountable to their fans and not to usecthiscforum as portraying us in the wrong is it so bad for us some as stated in this topic who get unfairly penalized for biowarecto be mre accountable for their decisions and neglect of decisions such as making repairs to fix massie glitches that have not been addessed?

Back to my analogy if someone want to cheat and the person conceals their answers to the exam. Conceal it minimizes chance of person cheating that my point u can't stop it but hiooware can minimize it it would be less a headache for them. Maybe that why in mplayer so many unreasonable glitches during gameplay left unaddressed bioware wastectherectime going into mre accounts than theyvotherwisechavr to and that takes away from time fixing countless long standing probs in gameplay. Just a thought

Nevermind the cheaters, those of us who are official members of the "Hurricane Hates me" Club would relish the opportunity to reopen all our earned commendation packs.

I'd love to be a memeber of the "Eagle hates me" Club, but alas my Eagle 8 says it loves me greatly.
