Well, I'm in the clear. I do feel slightly bad for my brother. He just started the game like 2 weeks ago and was telling me that he had this glitch and maxed his promos. I actually hadn't heard about it before then.

He doesn't do the BSN thing, so 'scuse me while I go break the news...

5-10 before you realized there was a bug, then opened a few more?!!!  You were either trying to take advantage of it, or you're an idiot.  No other excuses.  You should have your promos wiped.  Be thankful the rest of your manifest wasn't touched...

There are a myriad of legitimate reasons somebody could be unaware that this wasn't intended. As I mentioned in another thread, given the fact that the last DLC just came out and this is the one year anniversary of the game, it's not a stretch to assume it's the last weekend op at which point the commendation weapons would no longer be available. So, for somebody that doesn't frequent the forums, it could be seen as Bioware trying to give everybody the commendation packs as a send off.

What Bioware did was fair in my opinion. So long as people can get the weapons they legitimately earned back, it's a fair deal.

It took 2,400 packs to get the Lancer.

Srsly tho, that's just mind-numbingly dull - that's roughly 10 hours of the store. OF THE STORE.

No items are worth that much time in the store.

It's nice that you're going to clean up, but honestly, how is this statement fair to honest players? I've been playing this game since release, missed two operations total and still don't have any of the commendation weapons maxed out.
I could've brought my Hurricane and Valiant from VIII to X by abusing the glitch and I would not even have to expect any repercussions? I'm sorry, but that is not fair from any point of view.

Next time something like this is possible, I'm gonna abuse it like 4 times too, because I don't have anything to fear if I don't do it more times then that, right? I mean, I only save myself roughly a month worth of challenges, right?

Sorry, but how you guys intend to handle it is just not fair.

Actually im afraid yiou wont be laughing...i never been a cheater never dream of it. but point is accidentally sometimes people unknowingly abuse a glitch. assume safely majority do NOYT read the forums on updates of glitches and you do not kno till after you do it. an honest person would stop once they realise they get one too many but a dishonest..turns out i got 2 max commendation pacvks. sorry to disappoint.

Well since i havent heard back from anyone im guessing ive lost those packs for good. How is that fair? Did i make a mistake yes but should i lose stuff i worked for because of it no. Did i hack the system or mod my console no so why should i be punished & lose stuff that i worked for and spent time to acquire? You took away the packs i got from the glitch so isnt that enough? I guess this is how loyal costumers are repaid in this day & age, they screw up once and its time to teach them a lesson. Maybe if instead of letting the glitch happen you should've shut down the servers for an hour or two until it was fixed or maybe sent out a mass notice, by the time i found out it was a glitch it was to late. Im sorry if i dont inherently see the bad in things like most on here do, i didnt think glitch right away i thought either long term players were being rewarded or weekend challenges were ending and we were all getting the chance to get the weapons. Hell at first i thought it was the dlc that i never got from the ME3 figure codes, what was i thinking. And now because of the shortsightedness of both me and the people who run the online ive lost items that arent easy to reacquire. Like ive said i understand taking away the packs that were obtained by the glitch but the ones that were already there beforehand thats not right.

I feel your pain, man. It's like it wasn't enough to just remove the additional weapons, but they had to go one step further and punish by removing everything - even the legit stuff.

Knowing how BW works, I sincerely hope you get your lost legit promos in no time. Indeed I think you will, just give them time and a polite reminder every couple days =)

It's the weekend. I would not expect to hear back from anyone at BioWare until Monday. Just sayin'.

Here's the thing I rarely visit the Bioware forum so had no idea that there was a problem. I thought the gift packs were part of the final event and this was it. It was only after I got my remaining weapons to X that I suspected something might be wrong and decided to check out the forum.

Lets be honest, now that the last DLC for ME3 has been released it's fair to assume that Bioware will soon be stopping any major support for ME3, as Bioware move onto New IP games, Mass Effect 4/Mutliplayer game and Dragon Age 3.

For everyone's information there has been a total of 37 commendation packs issued to date, if like me you have done every event to date. Only 20 of these are tracked via the Bioware support page, on the N7 HQ. I don’t mind losing the odd commendation pack or two, but 14?

If you opened 2400 packs you have everything coming to you, but 19?

Bioware are enjoying their weekend, so the best idea is to PM a community mod, if you have a reasonable complaint and wait till they get back to you next week.

Are they potentially the same weapons they were before, nope I will admit they might not be but your number of commendation weapons is equal the challenges you did.

I would think that is more or less a fair compromise, instead of just taking away all your weapons.

That's crap. Why punish players for something that is clearly an in game glitch? If you don't like people taking advantage of glitches you should fix them before they become a problem rather than punishing players for playing your game. I mean its one thing to mod the game but this is uncalled for.

 Well, if everyone was involved with this glitch then BW may have had a different tune except for 2400dude. By just saying, "oh well", what's done is done. everyone got a handful more and its getting near /or at end of challenges let them gave them.

I really want to know what we'll get after all promo weapons are done. I've played in all events so far (excluding N7 day because I usually only check the forums around the weekend or near DLC releases. Still, it sucks you reward people for playing on a specific day which you did not announce beforehand, like on maybe the weekend before). Anyway, I'm hoping it'll be 2 levels of a random UR weapon. Why 2 levels, because with promo weapons done, the next step down with be UR, however as you can get 20 UR's in a week if you play enough, but could only get 1 Promo per 2 weeks originally and now every week, it'd be reasonable in amount. The same was done with commons in Spectre packs. Plus, it'd reward those that cannot play alot but who've been dedicated to the game, whilst level IV equipment will result in many who return for the weekend events leaving altogether.

Reference only 20 events tracked, err, no.  You may want to go back and count again, I show 35, plus we have two gift packs that had promo weapons, one early on in MP and now one for this weekend.  At least on my N7HQ, that accounts for all the "events."

And, math, ah yes, let's do math. 

If you've done all the challenges plus the two free gift packs, that would mean you were 13 shy of maxing your promotional weapons (not 14, but that's largely beside the point). 

So, only after you opened 13 packs (or 19 since that appears to be the number you have confessed to opening) and maxed all your promotional weapons did you realize something was up?  Or you realized it at 13, but continued to open 6 more packs after you maxed your promotional weapons, 'cause, you know, there couldn't possibly be something amiss?

I just did the math on mine. I have 36 levels of N7 promo weapons. That covers all the challenges to date (minus Resurgence, which gave a DLC character instead), plus the Gift Pack from this week, plus the extra from doing Lodestar Insanity.

There is the chance to have one additional level if you got an N7 promo weapon in your N7 Loyalty Day Pack back on November 7th. I did not get one, I got a Talon UR upgrade.

So, that should be the current. 36 if you have done everything possible that gave a guaranteed N7 promo weapon.

BTW, yes, if you check my challenges to verify this, I am "missing" the medals for Resurgence, Goliath, and Raptor. I'm a PS3 player, so I could not earn those challenge medals, but we were given those two commendation packs once we were allowed to participate in the weekend challenges.
