In March or April, there was a pack (I think it was described as a Commendation Pack versus gift pack) that you got, just for showing up, no operation.  I don't think there was a medallion for that pack.  So when counting up the maximum number, you always have to +1 the total.  Now that we got a free gift pack, that number is +2. 

I could be wrong about that.  If I am, then S3M took 14 packs to max his promotional weapons, then opened 5 more before calling it quits.  If that is true, then I should amend my post and acknowledge my error.

Both for the math (which will go away with the edited post) and my attempt at sarcasm.  I was very rude because I thought S3M was rude in telling us a huge whopper and expecting us to buy it. 

But most importantly, coming across as offensive is never a winner, so I will edit it to apologize for my tone and to make my point in an appropriate manner.

Ok, this is bonkers.

I've just gone to the store to purchase a couple of Reserves Pack when I noticed A LOT, and by a lot I mean 18 Commendation Packs and 1 Gift Pack sitting there, "Free".
This time, since when the glitch happened I unconsciously opened about 8 of them (I actually didn't drop a single Reckoning Kit, so I thought it would go on until I dropped one... yeah, opportunistic much) I've come here searching for clues and found this thread, then I went checking my Manifest and found that ALL MY PROMO WEAPONS WERE GONE.
Every weapon, even the legit ones.

If these packs are supposed to be a recoup for deleting every legit promo weapon I have unlocked from March 2012 till now, you could at least give me packs for all the challenges I won, 27, plus 2 for my BF3 player status and the latest gift.

For now I'll open my 19 packs, but you still owe me 10 more.

Now, that's quite the audacity, to come here after blatantly abusing a glitch and making demands like this. No one owes you anything. You abused a glitch and got away with a mild punishment. Be glad you didn't get all promo-weapons taken away.

As Bryan stated here they reset the reward state of your weekend challenges, so you get a commendation pack for each challenge you completed since Retaliation (when they changed the way commendation packs were awarded). It doesn't go beyond that.

I'm afraid you won't get the same level of weapons you had before (if you did challenges prior to Retaliation). I'm guessing they couldn't track it beyond that. But to be honest, you abused a glitch and got away with a mild punishment, so I'd take that and be glad it wasn't a total wipe.

First, they may have it wrong, but you probably won't get it fixed until the work week, when they are back.

Second, the number of packs you opened may have crossed the threshold between what BioWare considered reasonable and not reasonable.  In that case, you might be out of luck, getting those upgrades back.  Might ... but I'm not the one to say.

PM Bryan Johnson, even though it is the weekend, he is online a lot, he might be able to answer your questions. 

I think NPlewes is running the scrub, but I don't know how much time he spends in the forums on the weekend, you can PM him, but he might not see it until next week.

Evidently they had to draw a line somewhere between what is "accidental" and what is exploiting. You seem to have crossed it. You may of course try and reason with Bryan and if what you say is true it might even be successful as Bryan is someone you can talk to, but I wouldn't count on it.

Look, I'm not trying to get the packs I abused, I'm just asking for the packs I've been legitimately entitled before Retaliation went live, you can see them in my N7HQ profile: I've been entitled for 10 more Challenges (they were even thougher than the Week-end challenges we did lately), plus the bonus one for linking the game to my Origin account with BF3 paired.

Well, to be honest I thought (rightfully) that the gift pack was there to give me a Reckoning kit and make me able to complete that week's challenge, so I opened 8 of them hoping to find that, but sadly I only got promo weapons (most of them I didn't even care about). After the last one I suspected something was wrong and went to the forum to find what's wrong and found about the glitch.

Again, I'm not against the reset, I'm against the unfair redistribution of my legitimately unlocked weapons.

Anyway I'll PM both Bryan and Lewes at once.

Well I did the glitch thing too.  I've not been playing the game long and didn't know much about the weekend challenges (long story).  So far from what I've read a lot of people on here are very familiar with the game and some like myself less so.  I don't follow the forum.  I found this thread from a question I asked on EA's site about the levelled up weapons being replaced with further commendation packs at a lower level.  (This should give you some idea of my naivety and ignorance)  I was genuinely confused as to what was going on. 

This will give some idea of my lack of understanding of how this all works.  Have you any idea how much of a pain in the ar*e I thought it was to open all these packs.  I takes ages as you know.  Worse still, how pi**ed off I was at not getting any characters, just the same old weapons time and time again.   It wasn't 2400 by the way.

I couldn't work out why I got so many packs last weekend and finally got through to someone at EA UK customer services last Monday to ask if they knew something was wrong.  They couldn't answer my question and suggested using Bioware's site - I ended up on EA's site from the contact link on Biowares site so go figure.   Anywho after not getting much help there I left it assuming if it was an issue they would know and thinking that perhaps the packs were part of the DLC form last weekend.  Maybe to get everyone up to same level.  (A tad naive looking back)

Yes it seemed strange to get so many packs (hence the phone call to EA) but what some of you have failed to grasp is some players like myself don't follow this forum. 

Now this will get you thinking WTF but I honestly had no idea how hard these weapons were to come by.  I've not been doing the weekend challenges long and as much as I've enjoyed having a go at them, I've paid little attention to the N7 weapons in the commendation/reward packs.  I've been more concerned with getting credits to unlock characters/ general weapons/equipment etc.

Feel a bit of ****** for having spent the week with these weapons in my inventory not realising how rare they are.  The only one I used until last night was the Hurricane. 

Apologies to anyone I played with this week who thought how the f^ck has he got a level 10 Hurricane.  I was even explaining to someone last night when playing through the insanity challenge how I got a load of these packs which gave up Hurricane X. 

It would be nice to see some sort of apology from Bioware, the tone in all responses seems to be one of blame the end user.  Not everyone would realise its even possible for the provider to make such a mistake. 

The only good thing to come out of this is I know where to go if there is a problem in the future.  Not EA's UK call centre thats for sure.

If you are new to the game, I would think that BioWare would take that into account, plus your other actions to try and get the problem fixed.

Contact Bryan Johnson, send him a personal message, he's a very decent person, your story sounds legit, he will check it out and do what is right.

Most of the folks who did the glitch thing were not in your shoes, some have been playing the game almost from the beginning.  Their cries of "I didn't know" don't ring true to me or to others.  Plus some got caught in out right lies as to what they did.

Other folks were somewhere in between, but had enough weekend challenges under their belts to know better.  Again, folks in different circumstances than you.

Really, PM BroJo, he is online quite often, even on the weekends.  Good luck.
