But to everyone else sitting here crying about it...let it go. It is what it is, wasting your tears over someone getting extra promo weapons is just a waste.

two: that's not a mild punishment. that's at least a whole year's worth of free time spent on being a loyal bioware fan. And for a GLITCH, this person've got all the rightfully earned commendation weapons wiped? Talk about disproportionate punishment.
Soooo, abusing a glitch over and over, when you should know it's wrong iiiis OK now? That's what you're saying? And they took away all the packs you got before Retaliation (aka Operation Bloodlust), that's 15 operations and hardly "a years worth of free time" - were do you get that from??

This seems to be the perfect time to stop playing this game and avoid all Bioware games from now on.
This is really bad stuff from you towards paying customers. You will not get my money again.

I would(probably) never mess with it. A few of you might remember the glitched victory pack a few mounths back that broke multiplayer for a few days, that was the lesson to me on not the mess with glicthes (I did not know it was one at the time either).
Still, 2.400 packs? Godess...
Can't recall that, maybe I didn't get that glitch?
Anyway it was Victory Packs, i.e. no promo weapons or characters, so I don't understand how that could break the MP "for a few days".

Now this, for Leland Gaunt's attention, is a dumb (and by "dumb" I mean "entirely emotional, lacking any rationality") comment.
Yeah, it's wrong that BioWare didn't take into account all the Challenges won before Retaliation's release, but boycotting an entire company because of one **** up is a dumb decision, akin to those saying they'll boycott Electronic Arts after the SimCity launch day's network disaster.
Also, there's still hope that people like NPLewes and Bryan Johnson read our remarks and decide to setup a page like the Missing Rewards one (or just update that page) so people willing to ask for their unallotted packs can go there and apply.
You're always entitled to your opinions, but we can also point that such an over-reaction is rationally questionable.

Right now I have 35 points , but that seems low since I have all 35 challenges.

If you have completed all the challenges and both Normal and Insanity Medals of Operation Lodestar you should receive 37 packs, including the Gift Pack from last week and 3 Commendation Packs (1 for partecipating, 1 for Normal Lodestar and 1 for Insanity).

We all are entitled to our opinions. You are quite wrong in your asesment, that there is no rationality in my comment: Bioware is actiing very unprofessionally and unethically towards their paying customers. As a consumer, all I can do, is vote with my wallet and support the companies, who are better than this (or who have not been caught doing this).
This is a very rational choice. After all, I do have many other game companies to choose from.
If I get screwed over, I try to avoid that from happening again. As Bioware have shown their working ethics, I will avoid them. Simple and rational.
Cheers

How much simpler than "you abuse, you get punished" can it get? I would have taken away all the promotional weapons, not just those that came before Operation Bloodlust, so yes, I find they got off lightly.

37. Including the one you could get on N7 day (especially if you had maxed UR , which guaranteed an N7 weapon), the one time we got two (one in a victory pack and one in a commendation pack), then the Operation that had no promo weapon, but a guaranteed new character from the (then) new DLC (I think it was Resurgence) and the three you could get this weekend.

Think about it like this, if they let those people who opened around 5 packs keep their weapons, it would anger everyone who immediately saw an issue/didn't even experience the glitch and instead have earned every single one of their weapons through challenges with no freebies even though they did the right thing.
On the other hand if they simply removed those weapons with no punishments to people who opened under 5 packs people who opened 6 packs would be angry because they have been wiped, if it was 10 packs people with 11 packs would be angry, no matter the number someone is going to be angry.
Instead if they go through and reimburse everyone with a "believable" story at what point should a "believable" story mean people should go without punishment, people would make the same complaints even if they opened 20 packs because all bioware has to go on is peoples words.
Anyway abusing a glitch should not go unpunished, but it's almost impossible to work out at what point people are abusers, it's a bad situation for bioware to be in and people complaining "But I didn't understand!" aren't thinking about the bigger issue, only themselves.
Urghh that was a mess of a post, all my thoughts kind of came out in one big pile of words, hopefully I got my point across.

@Ahms you are correct we did not give credit for prior to retaliation. To be fair you did open more than 25.
I didn't exactly keep count. Why was everything deleted? I'm a net loss after the "clean up." Prior to that weekend challenge I had completed two others.

You can't expect them to count the completed weekend challenge for everyone who abused the glitch (and from what I'm reading it appears there were many of them) and give back the packs according to that count. They only had an automatism in place since Retaliation, aka Bloodlust and used that. I'm pretty sure everything earlier would have required extensive manual work.

NPlewes can you give me a Lancer from one of theses guys.

Pretty pretty please. Ill come up with more awesome NPlewes stuff. Like this
NPlewes once hit Chuck Norris sooo hard. That Bruce Lee kneeled before him.
or this one
NPlewes dosent wake up when the sun comes up. He wakes up then the sun comes up in fear that NPlewes might shut it off.
or this one
Mass Effect only takes place in outer space because space was too afraid to be around NPlewes!
He will not give you a weapon or anything just because you asked, play the game right.
For me I'm hoping to get a Geth Spitfire and I have spend a crap loads of MS points on PSP's and never got one.

So just use a sledgehammer when you should be using a scalpel is what you're saying? If a bank computer has a glitch and gives out tens of thousands of dollars (variable amount) each to all of their customers, you think the right play there is to clear out everybody's accounts just to be safe?
BS. If you're going to take back what isn't somebody's, leave the stuff that is theirs to begin with.

I don't pretend to know how the N7HQ database works, but I think that if BioWare does have an automatism to know how many challenges a player has completed since Retaliation, they can also setup an automatism to review a person's challenge history in a request basis, like they do/did with the old challenge system and re-award the Commendation Packs they earned before.

If you have completed both challenges and received only 1 comm pack instead of the promised 3 (1 for participation, 1 for Normal challenge and 1 for Insanity (Platinum) challenge), then send a PM to NPLewes of Bryan Johnson.
