From the trailer for the expansion pack, it appears the developers have selected a specific ending or a group of endings as the starting point for the expansion. Alistair lives. Your character lives and remains a grey warden if you chose to re-use the character. This implies that Morrigan got her baby or Loghain died in the end.
However the endings I got so far where Alistair lives and remains all involve him becoming king. Is there an ending where Anora is Queen but Alistair is not king?
It would be nice if the romance in DAO carries over but I suspect it will not.

Whatever ending you have transfers over to the expansion. Yes there are endings where Anora is Queen alone. You can also marry her and become King-Consort if you are a male human noble. Romance might carry over since there are cameos of old companions even though only one is returning as a full companion.
